My mom used to always take me to the skating rink as a child and would have to hold me tight and dance with me every time this song came on when we were there. She passed back in 2002 when I was 14, and I had to put together all the courage I could muster to sing this at her funeral, one of the hardest moments of my life. I haven't heard this song in many, many years but think of her every time. I lost my best friend in the world last month, and I'm still crying my eyes out every day. I haven't felt this much pain since my mother's death, and just feel so lost. This song comes on the radio today and I felt like it was my mother just coming to be here for me and tell me everything will be okay. Time definitely does move fast...
@@jashaiidancelist7103 thank you! I'm so sorry for you loss. I don't think many can understand it unless they have been there. Definitely a beautiful song.
Steven Recinos - I’m sorry for your loss brother. Those words were very heartfelt. I was and still am in tears after reading your story. Life isn’t fair sometimes. I personally just wanna say, thank you for sharing your moving story. God Bless You, your family, and most importantly……..God Bless your mom / BEST friend.
I'm 37 and I remember being in 6th grade in Miami, FL when this played on the radio and I wanted to go out to get the cassette. Of course I could not drive out to the mall by myself but my sister eventually brought it for me. That was all we had back then, cassettes and radios. Oh and of course Sony Walkmans. My how the times have changed. Never did I imagine that I could be playing this anytime I want on a PHONE for crying out loud. Sadly those simpler times were in my opinion more beautiful and fulfilling than now.
coupleofbeers31 a few years from now, people will be saying, " I remember when we could pull up songs on our phones and play them, those were the days"
My Wife and I just found out our son passed way last night. They found him on the metro bus unresponsive. When the coroner showed up he was pronounced deceased. He just visited us a week ago and we begged him to stay but he insisted on leaving. He had been battling drug addiction and depression. We are so heart broken! You can rest forever now Tyler and we love you so so much! Until we meet again!
Nurindah Permatasari Hadn’t heard this song in many years and almost forgotten about it. This has me really choked up. The girl in the video at 3:13, the way she looks at her guy, was the same way my Love used to look at me. I haven’t had anyone look at me like that since. It’s been 7 years since I’ve seen or communicated with her. Life took us in different directions. To J. F., wherever you are, I hope you have found happiness in life and love.
I'm 42, i remember when this beautiful song came out. It immediately became one of those lasting song's that carried through the years. Thank you Surface. Still listening in 2018 and beyond
My wife of 20 years passed away this week. Because this was a special song for us, we played this gem during her photo sideshow. It was a perfect fit. The first time I took off her glasses and gazed deeply into her eyes, I told her that her eyes were gorgeous. She gave me a stunned, "Really?" She could't believe someone would give her that kind of attention. After spending our whole lives being rejected and neglected, it felt good to feel wanted, for both of us. We always knew we were right for each other, and I miss her more than mere words can describe. Fly with the angels, Julie. I will never stop loving you. You were the best!!
This group owns a big part of my heart. I listen to these songs, and it instantly takes me back to my childhood. Surface is an underrated group, imo. Love it.
This song makes me cry when you are in love it makes me feel happy and appreciated the one I love the most😢😢💐💖💯💯 I miss the 90s those were the good times growing up...
The chords and melody definitely make this song a heart-tugger. This song would just not let go- for me it kind of comes off as sad but it sticks with me for some reason.

The early to mid 90s had some great tunes such as this, I must admit. But, I still think the 80s was the best decade for music. Great and classical music began to fade away as we approached the year 2000. I can't recall ever getting goosebumps while listening to modern day music....but I did a few minutes ago while listening to this song. Thanks for posting.
ronald antoine I am glad that you're able to confirm that the 80s was the BEST decade EVER for music. When I posted such statement elsewhere under other videos, I got many responses saying that it was the 90s. Of course, one or two people agreed, but the majority didn't. Now, while I am someone who respects other people's opinions, I can't help but argue that they are wrong. What you and I both agree to is a matter of fact. It is not just our opinion. There are good songs/music today, but EVERYTHING is autotuned now. This song, and other of that time were pure. Around '97-'98 Cher came out with that robot voice, and things went downhill from there.
Last time I felt like this was 30 years ago. Brings back good memories but ended in a lifetime of pain. It's very rare to find this type of love that lasts so I tell the younger generation to focus on something else and if it happenes consider yourself lucky.
