I saw the Tubes in Boston Mass in 1980! What a GREAT show! A different theatrical performance for each song! Simply amazing! I've never seen anything like that before, or since!
The Tubes were so ahead of their time. To listen now is almost painful from a societal or humanitarian point of view, but musically, they are epic. I'm introducing my kids to their genius. Thank you, The Tubes for your grand introspection!!!!

The first album was brilliant creative and sooo FN unique sadly the industry was looking for commercial hits.. yes the later tunes were great but for original the first album takes GOLD

My 25 yr old son thought he would do something special for Mom(60). Hell I found myself at a club in Modesto, CA at the top of the tubes guest list for their show that night. (Had seen the Tubes 3x before) Very young crowd, son's age. As Fee is singing this I'm rocking out and singing along of course. Last verse, here it comes, band stops playing, Fee holds the microphone out to the audience, pointing and saying no, no, no...several times I yell out with arm straight in the air...A BABY'S ARM HOLDING AN APPLE. I had just met Fee. He looks at me, points and says, "give that woman the prize she's the only one in this entire room that got it right" My son is at the bar mouth hanging down. Thats when you know YOUR PARENT IS COOLER THAN YOU ARE. 😁✌
1st time I saw them was at San Diego State's open air theater. Fee entered by coming down the aisle swinging a roaring chainsaw. An awesome performance.
Sounds really good from the LP IN QUADRAPHONIC SOUND THROUGH HEADPHONES while laying on a pile of pillows after smoking a dube! Im imagining a new version of this song! Layered!
You are the only person other than myself, that knows about quad. I heard one of the first quad albums in 1970. The Who's Quadraphenia. Wasn't analog great. These children don't know great sound.

My two favorite bands when I was in high school. The mothers and the tubes. My friends thought I was an idiot they were listening to Ted Nugent, kiss and or Aerosmith type bands. Not saying they were bad they just didn't do a lot for me. I love satire accompanied by awesome musicianship.
