RIP Nick Curran. That guy played the ever loving $hit out of a guitar, one of my all time favorites.
Great lesson. Anything about Nick Curran is pure gold. I'm a jump blues addict. Thanks.
Thanks George! Glad you dig it
Thanks for sharing this. I have played guitar for almost 25 years (on and off). I was a metal head for so long and got burned out at one point. I've been striving so hard to find a way back. I've diddled a bit here and there using UA-cam, but your videos have breathed new life into my playing and I've found a new home in music. I really enjoyed learning this song and look forward to many more. I also became a patron. Keep up the great work!
That means a lot thank you Joseph. And thanks so much for signing up to the Patreon, welcome to the gang! 🍻
Bringing back this old stuff a revival!so just cool n fun.
Here’s the more Nick Curran you said was in the works a while back.
I play Psycho all the time.
I’ll check out the rest of this lesson on your Patreon post.
Thanks!
Thanks great jump blues riff great lesson
Yes. Headed to Patreon.
wonderful guitars, I love Gretsch too!
This turnaround works in major and minor (referring to the 2 chord, here Bm) and a good example is the track "restless" by carl perkins. This whole step up also can be found in many country or rockabilly tracks as first part of a bridge. Cool lesson!
Without you through this lockdown i would have gone insane! thank you so much, never thought i'd even learn to hold the pick like Brian Setzer without you never would have thank you! small step become huge leaps! thank you sir.
And thank you, you just made my day! Glad to be of some use 😸
Awesome, Thanks !
Cheers!
great soundtrack to a morning pooooo. Another bangin' video my brother! some cool licks that you could slot into anything
If I can help curl one out of a morning then my work here is done. Cheers bro !
Meow, My Man Death Ray,
I dig Nick Curran's jump style, too. This morning I heard a Nick Curran instrumental on the car radio that was special. The announcer called it "Jump Blues." Not a very creative title, for Nick, who, along with his band, The Lowlifes, was known for tunes like Psycho, Lust 'Lil Lucy, and Reform School Girl (probably my favorite album cover).
This song was a fast, traditional Jump, much like tune The Groovy Jam on the album, Player, if you know that one. I cannot find Jump Blues (yet, ) but since you know him and his recordings, I'll ask. Have you heard it? Do you know where I might find it?
If you're interested, I'll let you know where I find it.
Nice guitars! Thanks for sharing.
Great stuff!
I havent visited Nick's Music in a while, good time as you just posted this. Thank you, was a gentleman the few times I talked with him and got to hang out with him and his guitar work is just as good as he was. Hearing you play it just shows how genius his playing was. It's kinda when you hear his shit you say to yourself "there is nothing in there I would ever change." Thanks man, R.I.P. Nick.
Is that gretsch g5420 ? Nice lesson

@@DEATHRAYCAT superbadass guitar brother!
@@DEATHRAYCAT sick!
Nico what about amp settings?
The sound in the record is quite bassy, not too much treble. No slapback. Bridge pickup. Natural breakup if possible. Nice and warm! 😉
Wazzzzzupppp ?!!!
