PS: I just want to clarify my "issue" with the clamshell opening, because in hindsight the term "stiff" isn't that clear. Compared to some Cordura fabrics or waxed cotton (as an extreme opposite example) the material feels stiff and doesn't flex or have some give when you load bigger items into it. And it feels more ridgid and not as soft. It's a bit hard to describe, but I hope this clears up my description a little bit better.

FULL DISCLOSURE:
This video is not sponsored nor did I receive any money. While I sometimes get bags for free, I have to pay custom fees, shipping fees and all my videos have lots of production costs (e.g. software and musicrights). Therefore I invest my own money into all of these videos and I have no intention to be biased towards a product or company. Every review and quicklook is written by me and no company can pay for preferential scheduling or what is said in the video. Furthermore, the company sees the video the same time as all viewers here on youtube. All opinions in this video are my own unless stated otherwise.

HOW I REVIEW:
As you might know from my „How I make a buying decision“ video: Rather than just looking at the pros, I like to evaluate the cons or flaws of an item and then evaluate if I can live with them. That is why in my video reviews I concentrate more on the cons of an item rather than going over all the features. Therefore everything shown is just a fraction of all the points that go into the verdict and score of an item.
DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A QUICKLOOK AND A REVIEW:
A Quicklook usually covers pre-production units or items that I only used for a short period of time. While Reviews cover final items that I have reviewed intensively.
LINKS:
For all my videos I decided not to include links for the products. Everyone is living in different countries and therefore has to deal with different shipping and customs fees. That is why I would advice everyone just to Google the product within their country to find the best deals. For instance: I live in Germany, It wouldn’t make sense to give you a German link while you might be living in USA or Asia. I hope that is understandable.

I just want to clarify my "issue" with the clamshell opening, because in hindsight the term "stiff" isn't that clear. Good review, Bo. I also use this bag in an urban environment and agree it can be a bit challenging, especially the straps. But the comfort of the harness is so good for me, that I'm willing to overlook the negatives. The material is definitely a bit stiff, but not as stiff as a X50 pack (which is what I was using before), so in comparison, this material is actually a lot softer! But the clamshell does require a bit of finesse to close-I agree.
Thanks for watching and sharing your experience with the bag. I agree: the harness system is very comfortable indeed
Kinda agree, but IMHO it's the best and one-of-its-kind.
There is literally no other backpack, that can be such a perfect/great slim EDC backpack (weight/materials/harness) AND being able to accumulate 45l at the same time, when you attach org-kits + double booster pod.
Best one-bag-travel. Pair with a small personal item and you can fit everything you need for life into that.
Valid point 👍
I have the same opinion but for the atd1, have an hybrid bag it's a little bit of compromise but what you can have with only one bag it's incredibile
@@fabriziogargiulo7435 IMHO it's toooo floppy/not as comfortable. BUT I respect any opinion. Just RE Alpha is sooooo polished and refined. My perfectionist is happy.
With ATD1/2 it's less...IDK...polished :)
Hi! Sorry but Im eyeing the Alpaka Travel Backpack and wanted to know if you are going to review it.
Thanks a lot, really appreciate your work!!
Thanks for watching, Jon. The Alpaka backpack looks cool. But so far I haven't planned to review it, just because I don't travel at the moment.
Definitely experiencing the same thing with the zippers but I think it'll be fine once it really breaks in, which I think will take longer than other bags. I would have liked to have seen an extra pocket or two in the main compartment. All in all, this is a great bag and my choice right now for go-anywhere global travel.
Yeah, maybe it needs much more time to break in. An extra pocket inside would be nice
Nice review! And the stiffness is something I like more lol. So maybe I’ll check this bag out
Thanks, Jorge.
Looks like a good bag but it is hard to see me replacing my Aer Travel Pack 2 with it.
If you are traveling or use it predominantly in the office for instance, then the aer is a better choice
Good work
Thanks, Athar.
I will stick with my Wandrd 31 L roll top. I love the bag, i just wish it had the load lifters. As for the one. You just shown, too many dangling straps. I agree with you on that. Imagine walking down a plane aisle that is narrow as heck, and those straps maybe slapping someone already seated in the face. No thanks. I will use my Wandrd to hike too
😂 True with the straps. But I never missed load lifters on the Prvke. However, that's definitely something that differs from person to person. With 31l I can see that you could benefit from load lifters (especially if there is camera gear inside)
agree with your title !
Thank you very much
