The $15 is not the issue. Global entry can take months to get approval, pre-check typically takes a couple of days. Global entry also has far fewer interview locations than pre-check.
Many decent travel credit cards offer a TSA Pre Check or Global Entry statement credits when applying and you use that card to pay for the application.
Yes it does pay to read the rules before you apply. I missed that part about the credit card possibly paying for it and thus I paid it myself. I'm pretty sure my Visa card would have paid for it since it was an old United airlines company. No worries, it was worth $15 more than a regular TSA precheck. The only other thing I missed was that I needed to constantly check for an appointment and after a year and 9 months I finally got one where I lived in Colorado. The other thing that is not mentioned and actually works is.... If you fly out of the country and you've got all your global application approved then you can come back through and they will fast track it. If you have an appointment for later, they automatically cancel it for you. I have a trip coming up to Aruba in June and I can hardly wait to use the TSA pre-check line!

Children are now free. And this is Ai.
I had to stop watching the second time you used a person doing that stupid crossed arms gesture.
