TSA Precheck is awesome. Great for domestic travel. The last time I came back from an International flight through LAX, I was stuck in a long immigration line. After I got out, I signed up for Global Entry. I also use my premium cards to get global check for myself and kids.
Global Entry / NEXUS for Canadian here, amazing fast to go through screening process, if you travel more than twice a year, $120 for 5 years period is a steal & MUST to own!
Global Entry and TSA PreCheck is definitely the way to go. On my recent return from Japan, the immigration line for Global Entry took 2 minutes to get through. Scan your card and kiosk will take a picture. Then customs agent will call you through, do their thing and then you are on your way. Easy peasy
The most worth it in my opinion is global entry even with the price increase you get tsa pre check with global entry. The only problem with global entry is getting the dang interview. But once you fly internationally when you get back in the US it makes life so much easier. And going through security with tsa pre check speeds up the process cause you ain’t gotta take off shoes and belt and stuff
My global entry expired last year...I thought I had to go thru the interview process again...to my surprise after I submitted the renewal application they sent me my new card.
PHX was the first airport where I observed TSA agents make PreCheck pax with CLEAR wait while PreCheck pax without CLEAR go first. Today I saw that in IAH.
Agree once I got Global Entry, I am no longer using Clear… I mostly fly Delta and on their hubs they have initiated Digital ID.. That service is better than Clear… Digital ID skips need of showing ID at Baggage Drop or TSA if you are flying Delta. They do retina scan and voila… With that and TSA Pre Check, I have been cleared the security and baggage drop at Detroit Delta Terminal within 3 minutes and at Seattle, it was 4-5 minutes in total…
There is one time I found out at airport that I forgot to bring my 18 years old son’s ID 😱. Luckily we have Clear plus, we were able to pass security and fly~ ( domestic flight) As to global entry, it’s not a 24 hours service! ( same as clear ) If you arrive/departure too early or too late, it’s unavailable!
Sometimes CLEAR does random ID checks. We found out because my wife lost her ID on the slopes on a ski trip and we tried to use CLEAR to get through security without an ID and she got randomly selected to show her ID 😂
@@MaxMilesPoints Oh my! Her luck must’ve left with her ID 😅 on that ski slope. Thanks for sharing your experience. We were never selected so I didn’t know they do random ID checks.
For me, Clear by itself isn’t worth it. However, there are some airports that have a special line for those that have both TSA pre check and Clear. That line is almost always significantly shorter than the other lines and makes having both worth it. Then the fact that they both come free with certain credit cards makes it a no brainer!
I believe all airports that have CLEAR and TSA PreCheck have a CLEAR and TSAPreCheck line. My problem is sometimes there's a line for the CLEAR kiosk and then there's a line for the CLEAR agent to escort you! More lines and slower than TSA PreCheck by itself. But you're def right, if it comes with a credit card you have already in your wallet no brainer.
@@MaxMilesPointsMy home airport BHM has Clear and TSA pre-check but doesn’t have the combined line. So yeah, those of us that live in smaller markets get played. 🤣
You forgot to mention MPC (Mobile Passport Control) app vs TSA Global Entry several months to interview appointment. You should also mention mobile drivers's license, Digital IDs and Samsung Wallet. TSA PreCheck Touchless ID for United Airlines and Delta Airlines. TSA using facial recognition. Some of these programs you can sign up to use or opt out. You should also mention that TSA Pre is not available at every airport. TSA Global Entry is available at a few international airports but some countries have their own version you can sign up to use for quick access through security queues. CLEAR $200 per year is overpriced unless you get it for free. TSA Global Entry $120 per 5 years is worth the price of an $95 annual fee travel credit card. TSA Global Entry includes TSA Pre so you do not need to pay separate $85. CLEAR is domestic only whereas TSA Global entry is both international and domestic. In Boston Logan airport I saw a combination queue for CLEAR and TSA Pre. IAD the TSA Pre queue is not near the TSA queue so you have to circle around playing treasure hunter detective trying to find the separate TSA Pre queue. TPA I do not recall finding a CLEAR queue. Remember to get your Real ID or USA passport card. You could also mention TSA Global Entry, NEXUS, SENTRI, FAST for driving or flying to and from neighboring countries. NEXUS for Cananda, SENTRI for Mexico. What is FAST pass?
Can you explain what Reserve by CLEAR is? From what I gather, it's a free tool that allows you to reserve a spot at certain airports but what's unclear is if you can pair this with PreCheck? And in airports where PreCheck doesn't exist (such as YYZ), would it make more sense to use Reserve by CLEAR or the Verified Traveller program using your Global Entry card?
Clear sucks. Every time I've tried to use it, it was faster to just go in the TSA precheck line since the clear workers and machines are so slow. I've also had some really rude clear workers so I'm pretty much done using it unless there's a significantly long line for precheck
Just a quick note. For you to get interviewed and approved for global entry by the immigration officer upon return to the US, you have to make sure that you are in" conditionally approved" status.
Thanks for making this video as I’m debating between tsa pre and global. Let’s say you get tsa pre right now due to appointment availability and you want it now. Can you get global later on within the 4 years?
You sign up online. If your background check is good you will receive a conditional approval email. You then set-up an appointment for the interview, once you are approve for the interview you can us your global entry pass id immediately. This process can take as little as 3 days to approve.

Just got my TSA PreCheck approved in a day
3:39 please tell us which credit cards are the "a lot that cover clear fee"
I can only think of one
One thing to note, CLEAR is not used at every US Airport.
Make sure to check the airport location you're traveling thru on if they support CLEAR. ☝🏾
When we cleared at LAX from LHR with GE, we were in and out in 30 seconds. A new land-speed record.

Taking your shoes off is already a good reason to get tsa PreCheck 😂🦶🦶
@ for real 😂

@@godfreysuarez5639 just a question, if you don’t let it expire do you have to do the interview again
i was able to do my global entry interview in Toronto while returning to the states from Korea.
If ur in socal Ontario airport u can usually schedule global entry interview a week or 2 out after u get conditional approval
PHX was the first airport where I observed TSA agents make PreCheck pax with CLEAR wait while PreCheck pax without CLEAR go first. Today I saw that in IAH.
Wish we had known about global entry when we got Tsa Pre.
Many airports got new scanners over the last year that you no longer need to remove your laptop.

I was surprised to learn when I signed up for nexus I received them all
Navy federal flagship comes with it too

CLEAR is basically a scam at my airport, even with precheck
Pre-check line is very long as well
I have global entry, CLEAR and pre-check
So I have the venture x with wife as auth user, we both got the app fee credited, I just found out only 1 credit per acct lol

yes Max, SAN is trash, I tried using Clear and took longer to get through than TSA
btw, are you going to the new SAN Sapphire Lounge on Dec 6?
I might be there 😉
@MaxMilesPoints hahaha, i know you will, this is our home airport, gotta take pride, just hope it's a nice one, isn't there a soft grand opening?

People always cancel their Global Entry appointment. If you are flexible, you can grab interview spots 1 week before the appointment dates.
Clear is a good option for those people that can't get global entry/pre-check. its actually their only option.
I have sentry - how do I get global entry without lapsing the coverage ?

Can you get global entry interview at the land border coming through from Tijuana? P2s application has been over a year and no interview
Just had a question, does every authorized user on my venture X card get to use the global entry/TSA pre-check or only the main account holder?
Thanks for making this video as I’m debating between tsa pre and global.

Definitely the best option if you're going through a location where you can do the interview
