How to remove headlights and front bumper, Alfa Romeo 156. How to remove wheel arch covers.

- Hello guys! We are back to a very complete tutorial! Certainly certain things may not be new but there are certain details and tips on how I like to do it and why. To access the headlights it is indeed necessary to lower the bumper and that's what I tried to demonstrate, at the same time demonstrating how to remove and disassemble the entire (or almost all) bumper to be repaired and painted. For all this it is necessary to access the lateral fastenings of said bumper and for that to remove the wheel arch linings is imperative in my opinion. For the more experienced, pull it a side may be enough.
For the lower part it is not mandatory to remove the lower engine lining, but in my case it was already dismantled due to the work of the air conditioning. Once again, for the less experienced, its removal can facilitate the whole process.

You are so good. I need you to come to Australia so you can refit my bumper as the paint shop guys did a fantastic job on the paint, but I can see their re fitment is poor compared to yours. !LOL Good work.
Thank you very much! This is "Alfa Romeo No Problem", from my Portuguese channel. On the last video of the year you will get some interesting news about that, for sure
great video as allways! could you one day show how to remplace cv axle on 156 1.9jtd :)

@@alfaromeonoproblem ohh, didn't find it before. Thanks a lot for the fast reply! I had a lot of problems with my alfa but have really fallen in love with her since I started watching your simple explenations and started implementing your helpful tips:) best regards from Koper, Slovenia!
If you take out the plastics that covers the fog litght is a lot more easier to remove the bolts holding the bumper to the wing panels. Futhermore you dont need to take out entriely the wheel arches/liners, just remove 1 or 2 screws.
Hello. That one of the fog lights I never thought of. The one of the wheel liners I believe I said that on video. Thanks for the tips
Absolutely brilliant work. Any advice for removing the oil filter on an Alfa 156 2.4 20v?
Hello. Thanks for watching! On those I usually remove the pre-cat, make sure to have a lot of brake cleaner for the mess.
Ah yes, this meticulous work that is hard to film but valuable to new users who lack confidence doing it themselves without prior experience. Well done. Question: my 2nd hand Alfa 156 mk1 is missing the engine under-tray...should I buy an aftermarket one, do you think it's necessary for the protection of the vehicle? Is there a brand you'd recommend?
Hello. Thank you very much! It did take a lot to record a edit, yes. For the under tray I really Really recommend one for sure. It gives a lot of stability in mid hi speed driving and it will protect for sure from moist.
Beware, aftermarket ones are brittle and not fit well, but better then nothing. A good used one from the second series (rubberised plastic instead of fiber) you last you a life time even if is constantly hitting the ground.
hi, where could you order the grille for the fog light?
Hello. There are several types of those. See with chassis number on your local dealership
Lucky climate without rust! If the 30 torx snaps spare rivet with 6mm thread are available. Search for „blind rivet nuts“.
Greetings from switzerland
Hello. Yes, not much rusty cars here! Thank you for the tip
Hi! Thanks for all these videos of the 156! I have one question, Im about to get a grill to custom the fog headlights adding the grill to them as you do. Where did you get them? My car has an empty space there and I dont like it
Hello. Mine are original from factory. Try to find a pair using the required part number. Can see those on eper, link down on the description
@@alfaromeonoproblem muito obrigado for the quick reply! I just order them! I’m using a few of your tutorials because I’m changing my door scrappers and I wanted also to replace the vinils on the pillar B, but I’m stuck because I can’t do it in the rear doors. I need to remove the window but I’m afraid on doing that! Saúdos dende Galicia!
@DavidRO87 hello. I have a video for how to remove the window regulator on the back. From that you just have lower and remove the glass and then remove the rubber.
Great work. The front end looks great noe. But why not use the opportunity to convert to a front-mount intercooler?
Hello. Thank you very much! About the intercooler that is extremely illegal in Portugal, and I have too much on my plate to be worried about that too. Plus, my 156 pulls like a train as is, a video for that soon I hope!
@@alfaromeonoproblem Yeah, probably not allowed in Serbia either. But if they can't really notice it, it can pass.
They will perform police interventions on the side of the road to search for that stuff. And they are well trained
@@alfaromeonoproblem While in some other countries, they don't even have MOT, or are allowed to do crazy mods, or don't have speed limits on the highway and so on, while we get punished over nothing. >:(
It's easy money... Even when people can and will legalize some modifications, they will get a ticket until they prof the legalization is real.
And there was I thinking that I was the only crazy person who greases every nut and bolt and screw that I put back on to the car....must be an "Alfa" thing.....I have wasted/spent so much time in the past trying to get the damn things off in the first place, over the years, that the thinking is...hey I might need to take that off again some time?
My friend, if I can call you so. You are not alone. Same thing here. And for my 33 restoration it will be that and even more
I am waiting for some "33" content.
I am considering treating myself to one.
It is a 1.3V, only 84,000km and 900 euro.
Its on Mainland Spain and I am not, so the first problem is making contact (the Spanish will not answer email!! and the second is transport....apart from that!..I also have a 1979 Alfetta GTV that I 80% complete.
I fear I will not finish that car if I get a new toy?
Time will tell.
I enjoy watching your efforts, keep up the good work, thank you.
Thank you very much! Next year will definitely be for the 33 and 75.
A car from Spain, south of Spain is better that Portuguese ones. And we have low to no rust. Keep pushing for that purchase!
Anyone that has worked on old cars i.e. fixed them up, restored them etc. KNOWS to grease all outside nuts and bolts if you ever think they might need to be undone. In a dry climate and dust, you can guarantee they will be ''rusted'' solid when you need to remove them. (More like dried out by the dust).
Cant find what clip housing i need for clip shown on 4:43.
Could you please help with part number of something ?
Hello. Yes I will try to help you. Make sure your wing is still able to be fitted with the correct parts. Aftermarket ones or modification may be present.

Hello
I have a 166 phase 2 from 2006 and would like to replace the scudetto. Do you have any videos or instructions how to do it without removing the bumper.
Thanks
Best
Hello. Sorry, do not have videos. But it is like this one. Bumper off
Hello again.
Concerning the removal of the scudetto from the 166 phase 2 is the most easy.
There are 5 screws in total 4 on top and one in the scudetto hole. Remove all and then gently pull up. You don’t have to remove the bumper.
I would like to include pics but somehow I can’t.
Best regards
@borislazarov8475 thank you for the tip!
@@alfaromeonoproblem
If you need other tips concerning the interior of the 166 I’m currently repairing mine that I purchased recently in Norway and there is a lot to replace and renew and upgrade, like the ICS, surrounding ICS console leather, central locking… and so on.
Best
@borislazarov8475 thank you very much! I have a phase 1 at home now. Window regulator, some electrical issues and a service
hello, does anyone know where I can buy a bar like this. I mention that I've been looking for one for some time and I can't find it
Do you mean the strut bar?
@@alfaromeonoproblem I mean the big bar that was dismantled
front bumper, that's what I'm looking to buy if you know where I can find one like the one in the images
@razvanmihaila7930 very easy to find on several places. Like dedicated Facebook Alfa Romeo groups
I've been looking for some time but I haven't found anything at all, especially since I'm from Romania
What is up with the spiders man they are everywhere
Lol. This is a warm country! But not like Australia I guess
