We organize a BBQ every year for the whole neighborhood around the end of summer holidays. It helps keeping things friendly. And people are more likely to communicate and help each other. We don't really hang out with the neighbors all the time. Everyone has busy lives these days. But when stuff goes wrong, we solve it together. The young help the old. Neighbors keep an eye out when people are on vacation. Parents help each other picking their kids up from school when someone is stuck at work. Dog owners walk each others dogs sometimes when they have something going on. Or they bring something to eat when someone is sick. Little stuff like that helps keeping things friendly in the long term. And it really helps when stuff goes horribly wrong. When a kid goes missing or something like that. It takes about 10-15 min to organize the whole neighborhood into a search party. We also have a system for first aid when someone get's hurt. We always have someone in the neighborhood with basic medical training and supplies. Including a defibrillator we bought with the neighborhood for when someone has a heart attack. It took some years to really build this community. But all it took to start the building process was a BBQ. And it helps getting people involved when they just move in.

@@JennaTelia824You are why we can't have nice things.
So happy to see the community coming together like the old days, united we stand. Blessings to all.
53 years old. Stealing jewelry from a store and running for it. What a role model, probably would've inspired at least 50 future astronauts if he wasn't stopped.
Scottsdale is a small town👊
It's beautiful to see everybody stepping up and stopping this criminal.
That was beautiful, it brought tears to my eyes.
This is exactly the approach we have to take going forward. We can do this!
How great to hear good news about our people..thank you for sharing..
Not often do you hear about the kindness of others. I'm glad he was stopped.
I lost my phone at a music festival earlier this year and thought for sure it was gone for good. When I checked lost and found though, someone actually returned it. The world is bad, but there's still a lot of good people in it.
Your blacks are bad - don't drag the "World" down the toilet with you.
Good Job Scottsdale
Blessings blessings and prayers to the people’s of Scottsdale. Thank You All.
This is how communities need to come together. On the other hand, I would not advise anyone to have a jewelry store during these lawless times. You are asking for it. These people are evildoers with no soul or conscience.
Brit here. Wonderful, well done to everyone who helped and acted with integrity, especially when times are so tough.
As a man born and raised in Texas, I can say whole heartedly that the only other place my wife and I would move to in these times is Scottsdale Arizona. We love it there.
The perp tried that in a small town, it didn't go the way it does in Portland, Chicago, San Francisco...
God bless this community fro. Camp Verde AZ
This is NOT shoplifting. This is robbery.
