I played metal gear 4 for a week and even called in at work just to complete the game lol. The story was so good I just had to keep playing it
Haha it was one hell of an experience!
But the cringe was too much. Kojima and co went overboard with the cutscenes. Gameplay was fun though. MGS5 dialled down the camp thankfully.
First thought was inFamous 2 and the Motorstorm games.
Actually there is an absurd amount of Sony exclusive IPs stuck on PS3.
And they're just not reviving any of them. It's frustrating

The games presentation was 1st class and unlike anything I have seen before. I heard the developers were interested in making a sequel but sadly never came to be

Although the game is great it cannot be enjoyed by as many people it deserves

MGS4 being trapped on the PS3 is a crime. There are so many amazing emotional moments and it was quite fun to play.

Pretty sure they release another, better version of it with the Metal Gear Solid Collection VOlume 2.
Tales of Xillia is such a good game. I appreciate how it introduced a full 3D camera to the series for the first time. The later parts might have felt a bit rushed, but it doesn't detract too much from Xillia. Loved the cast of characters.

Xillia 2’s combat is more fun than recent entries. I don’t really like Ludger but his weapon swapping has been unmatched so far
yeah xillia dou amazing still my favorite in the series to this day. Ludger is badass
Xillia 1&2 are good. Graces F too. But Arise might be even better. I'll wait for a huge price drop first.
It's also one of the first RPGs (outside Legend of Legaia 1 n 2) where the main hero is a Martial Artist and not a Sword swinging cliche hero.
That's why I love it.
My first game that came to mind and vote for part 2 is Resistance: Fall of Man

Tales of Graces F also still stuck on PS3. Good Tales game with amazing, if not, one of, if not also, the best battle system in the series.
That Tekken 2 music in the opening of the video is such a rush of nostalgia.
It is simply awesome.

Killzone 2+3, Resistance 1+3 ??
The last few months I've been buffing up my PS3 collection and happy to see some recommendations that slipped past me. I managed to get some solid deals on quite a few of them and thankfully have most of the pricey ones already. I did get a copy of Dead Souls as a Valentine's gift and need to eventually play it, being only a recent fan of Yakuza it's been difficult to track down.
Puppeteer is so good. They did this paper craft look way before Tearaway years later. I loved all the audience reactions and curtain open/closes for each level. Really felt like you were playing an interactive play which of course was the core of the visual design. This would be an amazing re-release with a 60fps upgrade and higher resolutions.
Fun fact, Puppeteer came out only two months before Tearaway

I cry everything I remember that Tales Of Xillia is stuck on the PS3... They need to bring it up! Release it on PC! It's one of my very favorite Tales games.

If you make a part 2, you absolutely HAVE to include Killzone 2 and 3, freaking awesome games that were way better than the janky first game on PS2, as well as Brutal Legend! It was a badass game starring Jack Black with the absolute best soundtrack of any videogame ever!
Game I expect to see in part 2: Drakengard 3, Katamari Forever, Time and Eternity, Twisted Metal, and without moving too deep into the Move, Time Crisis: Razing Storm!

@@thepolygondon9198Folklore is special. It's set in Ireland (an actual real sea-side town of Doolin) and the Celtic Netherworld of Irish mythology. (Irish mythology is a branch of Celtic mythology)

I really loved Tales of Xillia, my first Tales of Game, my top favorite game for a time, and my entrance to the fantastic saga ^^ despite it's graphical and gameplay flaws and restrictive map, the story and characters are unforgetable, it's always in my heart, and in RPCS3 😎

@@Vicariousend although I would love a new game, with the quality of the remakes that have been coming out I would be down for it.
Contra Hard Corp Uprising is one I wish they would have re-released , I beat it quite a few times already but it was one of my favorites on PS3 and wouldnt mind playin it again and picking up the trophies I never got.
I don’t know if you also have an Xbox, but if you do it’s in the backwards compatible catalog and plays great on modern Xbox’s. It’s also on sale fairly regularly
Xillia is in my top 5 Tales Of games....still need to actually get through Xillia 2 though ( as well as Jude's side of Xillia....too many games, not enough time )

Disgaea D2 came to mind, it had me laughing in tears.
I own all the FFXIII games and just got through beating the first one. Halfway through the second one now. Those games still look good, play good, and have great music.
I just beat 13 again last month and I still loved it. The game's art style still looks incredible in many places. The game doesn't deserve the hate it gets.
@@andrewdowell6474 it really really does deserve the hate. The story is absurd 1990s existential crisis bullshit. Once you meet the bishop-looking boss the story doesn't even make sense anymore. The graphics for the main characters look good but everything else is basic af- like an upscaled version of final fantasy x. And the combat... I finished the game making 2 characters as sentinels while making the 3rd the offensive one. I just kept blocking and blocking and it was laughable how stupid the ai is.
It's definitely the worst of the modern final fantasies. And in fact, only final fantasy 1 and 2 are worse now and that's an unfair comparison.
@@jamesyu5212 Final fantasy games aren't really that hard to beat so that's not the main issue. It was a fun playthrough though
The tales of xilia duology is honestly my most wanted tales of port right now, but with how Bandai handled the last one and the game they chose for it, I bet they'll port tales of the abyss before they even touch xilia despite it already getting a port to 3ds lol
That Abyss port didn't even have anything extra. I'd love to have a Destiny Dc/Destiny 2 collection.
Somehow Berseria and Zestiria made it to pc but not Graces f, xillia 1 or 2.
Abyss sure deserves it. But can they do it right?
Instead of re-releasing older games that are already in english AND in HD, can people instead ask for Tales Of Rebirth or Tales Of Destiny? What's with this rubbish obsession of paying and playing the same games over and over?

It's not often used but I do own a PS3, so it'll be interesting to see if I own any of the games within this video... or desire to own them myself. Always fun finding out with these videos.
1:57 - 3D Dot Heroes was released in 2010? I thought it hit the PS3 sooner than that. This game would be a wonderful one to own but I hear it goes for a fairly high price.
6:06 - I've heard good things about Folklore and enjoyed the look of the game but this is the first I'm hearing it's gameplay described. The mystery finding aspect and RPG action combat all sound pretty neat.
11:37 - I recall hearing about Puppeteer and being interested in it's concept along with the stage theatre presentation but it's release passed me by without me ever knowing it came out. Nice to know I didn't imagine and that the game looks splendid; the usage of the scissors is really cool.
Just mod the console and get isos off the internet.

Being a massive fan of the PS3, so many of these games mentioned I just nodded in agreement. I few I haven’t played like Tales of Xillia and Puppeteer (regrettably missed out on this one), but all the others are bangers that I have. MGS4 was a masterpiece for the PS3! 3D Dot Game Heroes is easily the biggest hidden gem for the console that I recommend to everyone too. Excellent video as always man!

I remember renting Folklore back in the day. I wasn't too keen on it, but my buddy liked it and I watched him play. Tales of Xillia I definitely enjoyed! When the game came out, my PS3 had died out on me but my best friend got the game too and we played through the whole game together. I wouldn't play through the game on my own until a little later one when I would get a slim PS3 to replace my old one. Heavenly Sword I only have partial experience with, because my friend did a joke let's play on it that I was involved in. I remember the game not reviewing very well back when it came out, but it seems to have developed a cult following.

Tales of Xillia is so good. Easily one of my favorites. It also got a direct sequel on PS3 but I never got to play that one.
Nice to see somebody talking positively about Dead Souls, it’s a good and wacky game. It’s also a shame no new Siren games have been released since Blood Curse. Binary Domain is another great game stuck on the PS3 that deserves at least a new port

Oh god I remember 3D Dot Game Heroes when I was a kid. That was a great game! I was thinking about replaying it since I still have my copy (mostly because I saw the ebay prices for it, they’re absurd!)

Siren: Blood Curse is incredible, a truly under appreciated survival horror.
Not only that Tales of Xillia (and Xillia 2) is my favorite PS3 game, it is my favorite game of all time. Amazing combat. I just love the art fusing mechanic. It really encourage to try different parties just to see a beautiful or cool new move. While the story of Xillia isn't the best (Berseria and Vesperia are better for example) it is still does its job.

Siren blood curse scared the absolute shit out of me. I'm not 100% sure but I believe siren bc can be played on ps5 with the playstation plus streaming service if anyone wants to check it out. Of course that goes for ps4 as well. Heavenly sword should be remastered as well as mgs 4 which I consider to be one of the best games ever made.
The best title this videos didnt cover imo, is Tokyo Jungle. Post apocalyptic animal survial game was such an out there concept but it worked so well its insane. It needs a sequel or a full port to new gen.

You mean Dark Souls 1 that is not only available to play on Xbox One, but Xbox Series S/X. Then there is also the remastered version of it that is widely available on everything....So is AC2 and the entire Ezio trilogy
Infamous 2 is my favorite Playstation game in general. It is what fot me interested in games like Prototype and Crackdown.
Never heard of Folklore and Puppeteer, but they look very cool!
I love Clockwork Knight 2 and Klonoa, Puppeteer would probably be an amazing rerelease for me.
I'd like to play Heavenly Sword too. MGS4 gors without saying, let's see if they do a good job with MGS Delta and it sells enough for them to continue remaking games.
Really hope Delta is good, but with Konamis track record I can see them screwing it up somehow!

MGS4 was a magnum opus of the series imo, who can argue with a knock down drag out fight between MG Rex vs MG Ray, hopefully we all get to play this on a future collection. 🤔
I wish Xevious Resurrection would get a re-release on modern consoles. It was part of the now delisted Namco Museum Essentials but luckily I bought it back in the day.
3D Dot Game Heroes is such a sick game man. Played it on emulator due to how freaking expensive it is nowadays (don't wanna pay that much), but never finished it due to how much it crashed. Shame really. Stil looks incredible to this day too. A remaster one day would be so sick!

Jailbreak your PS3 and play it with no problems, it's really easy to do.
Those ridiculous prices for some games are why I emulate too. We shouldn't pay triple digit money for an old ass game. Digital copies are where it's at unless you're a die-hard that wants a physical copy. Plus emulation often allows upscaling and, as always, less clutter.
I think it's only a matter of time before Namco remasters Tales of Xilia 1&2. I think they have remastered all the important Tales games that came before Xilia. I'd guess they will make the announcement around the time they show the next main Tales game.

Some game still suck are R&C Future series, Katamari Forever and MotorStorm Pacific Rift. But the library of exclusives is still something special and the games listed I have mostly played and were top notch

heavenly sword: almost forgotten. though an hack and slash the stance system makes me think of the people behind nioh 2 for a possible remake or sucessor.
ridge racer: i miss the time when driving games had more sucess, specially the ones that went for less for realism and more for uniqueness ( remember rollcage?)

Never understood the hate Dead Souls got. Sure the main story is repetitive but it still has all the Yakuza humor and a lot of side content. And some of Majimas best scenes.
Because of the awful controls, the repetitive enemies, the repetitive gameplay, the absolutely abysmal review scores....Its nowhere near as bad as people make it out to be, but its nowhere never even good let alone great....The controls were just hot garbage.
I didn't grow up with the PS3 nor am I a gamer since I mostly prefer pixelated chill games like RPGs so it was amazing to see 3D Dot Heroes since I love that style of graphics so much

I’d love if they’d bring back infamous in some way. Either remakes, remasters or a brand new entry. I preferred the first two games to Second Son.
I still have to play it, but got Heavenly Sword, because it's essentially Red Sonja.
It never dawned on me that Tales of Xillia is actually still stuck on PS3, and I got the platinum trophy for this game!! And my main memory of Heavenly Sword was the sheer frustration of the motion controlled arrow shooting sections... For the most part though, it showed off the issues I had with Ninja Theory as a games developer at the time. They copied many ideas from other popular games but lacked that "X" factor that elevated the originals, leaving the Ninja Theory game feeling somewhat flat. They aren't bad by any means but were never the games that entered your head when you thought about games.
It's also very cool that Sega acknowledge Yakuza Dead Souls as an official Yakuza game, even if it's not canon with the mainline games. After all, that was the game they used to put Kiryu and Majima into Project X Zone!!
Condemned 2. It was also on Xbox 360 but I wish that one was ported over to PC.
Twisted Metal, Playstation Fighting All Stars, God of War Collection, Killzone 2 & 3.
Driver: San Francisco! It has the best “feeling” of driving “physics”. I don’t know how technically accurate it is, but driving around in cockpit mode just feels “right”. I can’t think of any other game that makes me more feel like I am driving a car than this one.

Its so sad as consoles get newer the backwards compatibility gets worse. We had almost the full PS1 and PS2 library on the PS3, we had all nintendo consoles includine Sega consoles and Turbografx on the Wii U. There are so many games i want to download on my PS3 but i cant now.
It’s a real shame. I wish Sony would up their backwards compatibility game!

I thought Tales of Xillia was going to be boring, because the lead doesn't have the typical sword as a weapon. I was wrong, and both games are highly playable on rpcs3 on the steamdeck.

2:03 tried this a couple of times and never found a way to save the created character so never even git to play it sadly and annoyingly.
Hevenly Sword had a strange push by Sony when it came out
