What I loved the most of charged was that difficulty, especially on the final cups. My god is it borderline impossible to win, and that’s what makes it so much fun.
Mario sports games always leave me unimpressed. Especially the switch ones recently. Everything just looked very basic. Strikers looks so cool. I'm very excited to try it out
Truuuue Mario tennis used to be so crazy and fun on wii but on Switch its just regular tennis now. On Wii we had two different ultimates for characters and other crazy stadiums and rules for every duel. The effort in they put in the sport games used to be so much better

From my memory, a fair few Next Level Games developers also worked on another Fantasy Soccer game called SEGA Soccer Slam from 2001/2002, one of the earlier SEGA Multiformat games after the company discontinued the Dreamcast.
@@YoungAvJoe I think they went under a different name when the developers worked with SEGA on SEGA Soccer Slam, similar to what Camelot did back when they used to make the Shining series on the Genesis. Back then, when a smaller SEGA owned developer went to become a smaller Nintendo owned developer it was common for developers to change their company names. Similar to how Platinum Studios of today were once known of a completely different name when they used to be owned by Capcom back when they made Viewtiful Joe.
I can't lie, I'm really nervous about the new game. It looks so... Sterile in comparison. I'm sure NLG probably has less control over that than before, Nintendo's been pretty strict about keeping things "in-brand", I think that's evident even from like, the way they replaced Kritter with Boom Boom, or the way they smack against the electric fence. In Charged, it was BRUTAL, but in the new one, it looks... I dunno, weak? I personally loved the gritty style Charged had, and all the personality that was poured into every aspect of it's design. I just worry the new one won't come close to capturing that. I was super excited when it was announced, I've been wanting a new Strikers game since the second one came out, I love that game to death. But this one... It worries me. I really want it to be good.
honestly, seeing the different artstyles across the three games reminds me of how Smash Bros has evolved. Melee had a realistic look, Brawl looked more gritty and muted, and Smash 4 had a hyper-realistic style. It seems the same pattern is applying to Strikers.
Just got the game, can confirm, battle league has no style, has no grace. Or characters. And cause it's a modern nintendo game, it also has no content too!

Also ya know making games are hard now imagine someone making something glorious and having to get rid of things so it works in 720p I don't make games but I like to watch sometimes so I can say it's hard even for multi-billion dollar companies who pour most of the money into these games and again how much do you think they can do with a soccer ball they already pushed the idea to it's limit almost this game is fan service because we wanted another one so they tried their best, the best they could with Nintendo watching them and the game has a lot of points where you can see the attempts and efforts.
I played both Mario Strikers games back in the NGC and Wii era, really felt that the Wii Strikers was the better game but the controls of the NGC Strikers was the better controls. I also felt that Mega Strikes or Super Strikes should have been 2 Goals only, any more than that will resort in people using just the Captains to score goals and the sidekicks will be left out in the cold.
I REALLY liked the passing mechanic introduced in Strikers Charged but the power shots were just a little too powerful and imho took away from the more skill based passing and scoring gameplay loop that made Strikers so much fun. Playing with friends would often devolve into a back and forth game of who can knock the opposing player out of a power shot the most. It has the potential to be the far superior game but the balancing issues with the mechanics personally made it a lot less fun. This is the main reason that I prefer NGC strikers as it ends up being a more competitive game. Additionally, the more zoomed in camera in NGC strikers makes the stages feel decently larger and gives it a less arcade-like and more pleasing aesthetic imo.
I loved the Wii remote waggling for shoulder tackle, despite being a gimmick it really gave that physical element because the game had you SO involved, especially in local multiplayer!
About the megastrikes, not really. It's like spinning the wheel of risk-reward. On one hand, you can get a six-ball fast megastrike and land all 6, on the opposite you can utterly fail, only get 4, and have them all be blocked; not mentioning that you can easily be knocked out of it. The sidekick's powers are sometimes way too powerful, I always used hammer bro to... umm, c a p i t a l i z e on the power shot, and the defensive maneuver let's you use it almost risk-free.
I am super hyped about the new switch title, but I can't get over the fact that they got rid of the sidekicks. I never got to play the Gamecube version, but from what I could see here, Charged got a pretty solid team creation with the captain + 3 different sidekicks. Maybe Battle League could have aimed to actually choosing more than one main character for the same team or creating a team of only sidekicks since we can actually custom the character stats now to give even more freedom. I'm just a huge fan of the sidekicks xd I actually like them more than some of the human main characters. The theme song each character had in Charged also added a lot to their personality as well.
Yea, I mean in the OG, the sidekicks more or less made up for the lack of characters in that roster, and seeing that BL does away with them and the fact that 8 out of the 10 playable characters are gonna be one the field.... Seems a bit disappointing to say the least.
I remember playing the first 'Mario Strikers' demo at the giant 'Toys R Us' that used to be at Times Square 42nd street. The art style and cut scenes immediately caught my interest. The fun characteristics that each captain had felt so engaging, this was definitely my favorite Mario Sports game. 23 years later and I still own my physical copy in mint condition.
After playing a little of Battle League I can say that it is the 'Brawl' of Mario Strikers and Charged will be the melee, hate the lack of characters and how not broken the game feels
I never played the gamecube version but I loved mario strikers on the wii since the first time I played it, back in 2009. I am very hyped for the new one, I hope they dont screw things up. All they need to do is give me gameplay and animations on the same level of quality, and I will be satisfied.
While I will admit Charged took a lot of steps going forward with Mario Strikers, I still personally find Super Mario Strikers to ultimately be the better game because there are certain things about Charged that I straight up did not like. Wasn’t a fan of the charged ball mechanic, the stage gimmicks were absolutely broken and took way too much focus off of the gameplay, and the Super Strikes were done much better in the original and felt a lot more balanced. Using the Wii remote to block 6/6 shots never felt good to me. All that being said, I do absolutely loved how they handled the character differences, especially with the side ones. Those added so much to the game and were by far my favorite inclusion. I also loved how they even added new moves to every character’s arsenal too. I can see where people are coming from when they say they preferred Charged, but I’ve always found it to be too chaotic and overly-ambitious when compared to how perfect the gameplay was in Super. Had Charged scaled a few of its ideas back a bit, I could definitely see this being my preferred game.
Oh no I totally get it! Something that Charged does, I feel like the original did A LOT better! Charged isn't as fast paced and energetic as it's older brother. The reason I prefer it though, is because I like how much more strategy based it is. That and the more expressive cutscenes give it a SLIGHT edge over the OG.

I remember when I was a kid my dad rented Super Mario Strikers from Blockbuster and me and my brother absolutely adored it. Sadly after our rental period was up my dad had to return it but by that time our local blockbuster was going belly up and so they offered to sell the game to my dad, he bought it knowing how much we loved it and then he drove to work. By the time he got off work someone had broken into his car and took anything of value they could find which apparently included Super Mario Strikers. Good news is as a 24 year old man I have a GameCube and a copy of Super Mario Strikers that I still play fairly regularly especially while anticipating Battle League.

Mario Striker Charged Football is the most badass Mario Sport game ever. I love how every characters has their personality, theme and special moves. The overall presentation is the best! Also, the deke from Playmaker and Defensive characters is broken, you can bypass the goalie with it. 9:34 10:21 Dat Bowser shot scene is beautiful! I also worry about the game on Switch. This console is meant for casual gaming and it can't exploit the "badass" feel of Mario Strikers.
In terms of tone, that's something i'm really worried about in battle league. But no matter what, I have a feeling the game itself will be good. But it's still up in the air if it will maintain the charm of the orginal games
In the Wii strikers I LOVE doing a trick while I use Toad, Peach, or Diddy; I bassically get close enough to the net, then I jump, pass the ball to a teammate and score, IT NEVER FAILS
i was one of the few lucky ones that got to play Mario Strikers Charged, and it was AFTER the WII got discontinued, i gotta say, i do not regret even a single hour of me playing that game

I loved playing these games with my cousin back in the day and I think I’ll pick up charged myself on Wii U before the eShop closes down. I share the sentiment of some worries with the new game, but I’m hopeful it can be just as enjoyable, if not more than the previous entries.
Gosh darn it. When, I heard After burner playing in the background , You had me humming to the song since, I know the project diva version pretty well. An it's a shame Mario Strikers Battle League just didnt get the same love from Nintendo like Luigi's Mansion 3 .

I feel like the first Mario strikers for gamecube should be called Mario fotball. For me Mario strikers charged made the game into its own sport with the presentation and all were it really found its identidy. Now battle league goes back to basic being like the first game. I am afraid only people who liked the first game will enjoy this and those who love charged will feel like something is missing. Hopefully it is a great marriage of both games we're fans of the first game and charged can enjoy it.
Speaking of Mario sports, the only one I don't like is Mario Golf. The others, I like them all. I've played a lot of Mario Power Tennis on the Gamecube, both Mario Strikers and both Mario Baseball. So I would like to have a new Mario Baseball on the Switch.
This video reminds me of how people online are these days praising or bashing games because of the visual art direction and feedbacks. Sincere interest in the game design is rarely discussed, maybe because most people don't actually like gaming for the gaming part of gaming.
There is an aura of truth there. That's most people's first impression with pretty much any game they see (I know i'm guilty of that). But in terms of strikers, the way it and it's art style looked got me so interested to the point of me wanting to play it form myself because of how radically different it was. I feel like the way a game looks does matter in that regard. But yea, as a whole Gameplay > Graphics!
I don't remember the youtuber's video but I remember this: People LOVED Mario Strikers Charged, but Nintendo HATED it, because it was like too violent and off character for some of them. Next Level Games was already working on a new Mario Sport about volleyball mixed with catch fighting, but Nintendo stop the project... There's a high chance than even the gameplay looks good and the rooster will probably expand through free DLC, the game will be toned down heavely from his predecessors...
You forgot about deaking* in ngc, when you would deke out your opponent with the Y button you would get a speed boost leading to a big scoring opportunity, you also left out the Super Bots that were unlocked in the bowser cup(final cup) which allowed everyone of them to be able to use the super strike 😭 making it really hard to beat them depending on if you were playing or professional/ legend and etc. I love these games to death and Charged was really good too im glad they added Diddy and all the others and the sidekicks weren’t just limited to being clones you could actually pair teammates together to better your chances on scoring depending on how you played. Also loved how intense these games got when you were playing the cups and unlocking new characters ❤️ can’t wait for the new one I really hope it doesn’t flop
I had a GameCube as a kid I played and loved Strikers but skipped the Wii Era(Strikers Charged).i had a 360 and PS3 I grew up life went on and now I will be playing the new version with my kids when it releases in June wicked awesome.
It feels like the BL teams won't have any individuality, which is what made the previous games so great. Star players were really the joy of the previous titles - that's what created the magical moments - the need to pass it to your star player and hope they can score the all-important goal. It put the emphasis on working on a strategy and it created variety in the matches and the opponents you faced. If the whole team is made up of star players it kind of negates the point in having them. This feels like it'll be the same match over and over, regardless of who you pick and who you'll face. I share your concerns that this will get way too repetitive way too quickly.

It takes the dame premise from the tiny town adventures game on Sega Genesis and Super Nintendo..Tiny Toons had Soccer Basketball and Bowling and a few more games but was an amazing game with multiple sports in one cartridge.
Watching strikers charged from wii gameplay and right after extract from the new one on switch is heartbreaking, look how slow they go, everything is smoothed out. I don’t get the fact that we play 8 main characters from the roster of 10, like… this game seems made for online, so am I supposed to confront same team as mine each time? Moreover, rpg stuff on a party game IS NOT FUN, in mario kart choosing just 3 items for a kart is taking so much time for casual players, they don’t know what they do. Now imagine picking 5 items for each 4 players on the same team… omg fuck this, I just want to play with my friends!
I do kinda agree. I think that having armor upgrades that change stats is a cool idea but having to do this with each character would be tedious and dumb, maybe it applies to everyone on ur team which would be better but then people would complain that u should be able to customize each character individually. I am afraid that battle league won’t be as fun as strikers in terms of gameplay, we will have to see, I’m not even sure if I saw the ball in BL gaining power like in charged from passing, this is a feature that should stay and I will be disappointed if it isn’t thete

We don’t have the sound design too for the moment, it was really good in charged, and it was following the fact that you were obligated to pass the ball to charge it. The metallic sound was making it so unique it was some gameplay feature with a lot of sense for a game who make you play not completely just football but stricker. I’m afraid this game go right to the place it souldn’t by being a friendly football game.
Hey, good news. the animation in battle league (While not being as "Edgy" in charged) Is OOZING charm. DK is break dancing, wario is still amazing and so cartoonishly hilarious, EVEN TOAD! And waluigi is still the swave steal your chick evil man he's always has been.

To be honest I would have easily taken a strikers charged remake or remaster as long as it was better or at least the same. Battle league looks to be better than the og without daisy but not as good as charged.
My school use to do an event called the awakeover basically sleep over at the school but if you fell asleep everyone would draw on your face and they took out projectors and they let tou bring your game consoles and some games to play and I brought Mario strikers with my game cube only time I played it against someone that was not my sister or cousin and it was a blast
i will say that the little things that could be abused in strikers charged definitely made it annoying though. There was a strat I remember with boo where if you charged the ball to white and passed it to boo and then he would use his d pad move to teleport a little bit could get behind the goalie. Shit was disgusting... anyways thats how i beat the story mode on hardest difficulty. God i miss charged though brought back some good memories with that one
@@Nahobinoah the whole point of the strikers series was to stray away from the typical happy-go-lucky personality of the Mario cast. It was quite refreshing to see the characters take something seriously for once
@@Nahobinoah no, Nintendo just wants to make things more family friendly. Nintendo can do anything. They have the money and the working power. It is similar to the issue of Miyamoto restricting the Mario characters to the generic characters and not allowing unique creations. They could do it but they choose not to.
I hated strikers when I was young I didn’t have online and I feel like it’s one of those games that needs it I don’t like controlling every character who receives the ball,I’d much prefer to play with many people each playing their own role
Definitely takes a lot of getting used to. I found that when I first played it, I got a bit disoriented with how swapping to another player shifts the camera over to where they are. Idk, that part took some adjusting. And the online aspect of both or those games are still going somewhat strong thanks, to the age of emulation and all that.
About your "moving the slide to the d pad comment" They had to do that. The difference is that in charged, when you're on defence, you can intercept the ball with a pass/shoot during enemy passes (this wasn't in strikers original)
The first game is GOATED, but please, try the second one out! The motion controls are pretty easy to get past and most of the time don't really affect the core gameplay that much!
Loved the motion controller in the second one. To take people by shaking the controller felt so powerful. Sure it sucked for the super shorts but I always turned them off.
It kinda feels like they took a lot of the personality away from the (way less) characters in the new game. I mean they dont even have their own theme music anymore and without gear it almost does not matter which one you pick. I honestly would have been cool with a port of charged to the Switch with the new online club funktion
With the argument you made in the beginning of the video I have to say I am a little ashamed you didn't bring up sports mix. Lol even if sports mix still makes your point stand in the beginning I'm still ashamed. XD But if I may stay on the topic of the video, I agree with you almost completely. Even in the end when you brought up how you were worried about Nintendo losing the fire of the previous games and what made them awesome... If I'm being honest, that's kind of how I felt about Mario & Sonic Tokyo 2020. I just felt like they had no extra expressions on their faces, coming from someone who used to play Winter and London. But again, thank you for your opinions. (sorry if this was too long.)
In retrospect, I rlly should've included sports mix in that intro portion. But even still, just on a surface level, I still think that all my statements still apply to that game as well. Despite me liking Battle League, I still stand by what I said about the charm....kinda disappearing. 15 years is a lot longer than we imagine it to be! I think Battle League has a few small steps in the right direction, but overall, it ends up being a downgrade from charged. Too cramped, yet too bare bones. That melee to Brawl comparison comment really hit home.
Guess now is as good a time as ever to my opinion on the game seeing as I spent all weekend playing it. Although I can say with certainty that it's my least favorite game of the 3, battle league was still a fantastic game. The core gameplay hasn't been changed at all, the new mechanics I think are really cleverly implemented, and the animations are just as lively and charming as I was hoping for. It's really just the speed of the game that makes me rank it a bit lower. It's not as fast paced and frantic as the first 2. But really aside from that, I can say that I really enjoyed my time. With that being said, I never rlly found the game to be "cramped" at all, and even though I do agree with game being bare bones in comparison to charged it never rlly came off as boring or repetitive. Like the OG it's still very skill based with passing and aligning your shots! But, that's just me. Also Brawl is better than Melee so....am I missing something?
@@YoungAvJoe Not really, just preference, some people just enjoyed melee more. I think it’s the field being smaller or bigger characters that made it feel cramped. Hopefully more content will be added to the game throughout the following years to make it even better.
Next level is going to do great. But lately I suspect Nintendo has been 2 hands on with their developers. Nintendo insists on making their sport games sterile. Mario golf super rush was severely lacking in character animations. In super rush they changed daisy's losing audioclip from her saying "whatever" to her going "boo". I guess saying whatever was too aggressive and unhinged for Nintendo
The Mario Power Tennis from gamecube was lot of fun, it can get quite chaotic in a 2v2 and lot of special clutch when you think you’re about to lose. Best Mario Tennis game. The baseball game gamecube is better than the Wii one. Never enjoyed the golf games. Strikers are hands down the best. The Switch version seem slower pace, probably because the team aspect each player controlling one specific character. Gamexplain have an interview with an the game ex-director from the first two striker, is worth checking out.
Yea I pretty much agree with all of that. I mean of the 4 types of sports games I played for the video, I enjoyed Strikers obvs, but I also did have some fun with Golf and Tennis; It's just that my thing with them is that they just don't have much personality to them. Also I didn't even know GX did a video about that, i'll definitely check it out when I have the time!
Ehhh I have to disagree with your comment about how Charged’s stage music is mostly forgettable. Strikers Charged has a great soundtrack.

It has the potential to be the far superior game but the balancing issues with the mechanics personally made it a lot less fun. This is the main reason that I prefer NGC strikers as it ends up being a more competitive game. Additionally, the more zoomed in camera in NGC strikers makes the stages feel decently larger and gives it a less arcade-like and more pleasing aesthetic imo.
I loved the Wii remote waggling for shoulder tackle, despite being a gimmick it really gave that physical element because the game had you SO involved, especially in local multiplayer!

About the megastrikes, not really. It's like spinning the wheel of risk-reward. On one hand, you can get a six-ball fast megastrike and land all 6, on the opposite you can utterly fail, only get 4, and have them all be blocked; not mentioning that you can easily be knocked out of it.
The sidekick's powers are sometimes way too powerful, I always used hammer bro to... umm, c a p i t a l i z e on the power shot, and the defensive maneuver let's you use it almost risk-free.
This is why it's my favorite sports game I am so ready for Mario strikers battle league😎

I am super hyped about the new switch title, but I can't get over the fact that they got rid of the sidekicks. I never got to play the Gamecube version, but from what I could see here, Charged got a pretty solid team creation with the captain + 3 different sidekicks. Maybe Battle League could have aimed to actually choosing more than one main character for the same team or creating a team of only sidekicks since we can actually custom the character stats now to give even more freedom.
I'm just a huge fan of the sidekicks xd I actually like them more than some of the human main characters. The theme song each character had in Charged also added a lot to their personality as well.
Yea, I mean in the OG, the sidekicks more or less made up for the lack of characters in that roster, and seeing that BL does away with them and the fact that 8 out of the 10 playable characters are gonna be one the field.... Seems a bit disappointing to say the least.
I remember playing the first 'Mario Strikers' demo at the giant 'Toys R Us' that used to be at Times Square 42nd street. The art style and cut scenes immediately caught my interest. The fun characteristics that each captain had felt so engaging, this was definitely my favorite Mario Sports game. 23 years later and I still own my physical copy in mint condition.
Comparatively, the new game makes the characters look forgettably boring and the game isn't a fight to the death anymore.
The main reason I loved Mario Strikers Charged:

After playing a little of Battle League I can say that it is the 'Brawl' of Mario Strikers and Charged will be the melee, hate the lack of characters and how not broken the game feels
I never played the gamecube version but I loved mario strikers on the wii since the first time I played it, back in 2009. I am very hyped for the new one, I hope they dont screw things up. All they need to do is give me gameplay and animations on the same level of quality, and I will be satisfied.
While I will admit Charged took a lot of steps going forward with Mario Strikers, I still personally find Super Mario Strikers to ultimately be the better game because there are certain things about Charged that I straight up did not like. Wasn’t a fan of the charged ball mechanic, the stage gimmicks were absolutely broken and took way too much focus off of the gameplay, and the Super Strikes were done much better in the original and felt a lot more balanced. Using the Wii remote to block 6/6 shots never felt good to me. All that being said, I do absolutely loved how they handled the character differences, especially with the side ones. Those added so much to the game and were by far my favorite inclusion. I also loved how they even added new moves to every character’s arsenal too. I can see where people are coming from when they say they preferred Charged, but I’ve always found it to be too chaotic and overly-ambitious when compared to how perfect the gameplay was in Super. Had Charged scaled a few of its ideas back a bit, I could definitely see this being my preferred game.
Oh no I totally get it! Something that Charged does, I feel like the original did A LOT better! Charged isn't as fast paced and energetic as it's older brother.
The reason I prefer it though, is because I like how much more strategy based it is. That and the more expressive cutscenes give it a SLIGHT edge over the OG.

I remember when I was a kid my dad rented Super Mario Strikers from Blockbuster and me and my brother absolutely adored it. Sadly after our rental period was up my dad had to return it but by that time our local blockbuster was going belly up and so they offered to sell the game to my dad, he bought it knowing how much we loved it and then he drove to work.
By the time he got off work someone had broken into his car and took anything of value they could find which apparently included Super Mario Strikers.
Good news is as a 24 year old man I have a GameCube and a copy of Super Mario Strikers that I still play fairly regularly especially while anticipating Battle League.
I hate sports games in general but mario strikers is amazing.

In terms of tone, that's something i'm really worried about in battle league. But no matter what, I have a feeling the game itself will be good. But it's still up in the air if it will maintain the charm of the orginal games

In the Wii strikers I LOVE doing a trick while I use Toad, Peach, or Diddy; I bassically get close enough to the net, then I jump, pass the ball to a teammate and score, IT NEVER FAILS
i was one of the few lucky ones that got to play Mario Strikers Charged, and it was AFTER the WII got discontinued, i gotta say, i do not regret even a single hour of me playing that game

I feel like the first Mario strikers for gamecube should be called Mario fotball. For me Mario strikers charged made the game into its own sport with the presentation and all were it really found its identidy. Now battle league goes back to basic being like the first game. I am afraid only people who liked the first game will enjoy this and those who love charged will feel like something is missing. Hopefully it is a great marriage of both games we're fans of the first game and charged can enjoy it.

This video reminds me of how people online are these days praising or bashing games because of the visual art direction and feedbacks. Sincere interest in the game design is rarely discussed, maybe because most people don't actually like gaming for the gaming part of gaming.
There is an aura of truth there. That's most people's first impression with pretty much any game they see (I know i'm guilty of that). But in terms of strikers, the way it and it's art style looked got me so interested to the point of me wanting to play it form myself because of how radically different it was. I feel like the way a game looks does matter in that regard.
But yea, as a whole Gameplay > Graphics!

You forgot about deaking* in ngc, when you would deke out your opponent with the Y button you would get a speed boost leading to a big scoring opportunity, you also left out the Super Bots that were unlocked in the bowser cup(final cup) which allowed everyone of them to be able to use the super strike 😭 making it really hard to beat them depending on if you were playing or professional/ legend and etc. I love these games to death and Charged was really good too im glad they added Diddy and all the others and the sidekicks weren’t just limited to being clones you could actually pair teammates together to better your chances on scoring depending on how you played. Also loved how intense these games got when you were playing the cups and unlocking new characters ❤️ can’t wait for the new one I really hope it doesn’t flop
I had a GameCube as a kid I played and loved Strikers but skipped the Wii Era(Strikers Charged).i had a 360 and PS3 I grew up life went on and now I will be playing the new version with my kids when it releases in June wicked awesome.

It feels like the BL teams won't have any individuality, which is what made the previous games so great. Star players were really the joy of the previous titles - that's what created the magical moments - the need to pass it to your star player and hope they can score the all-important goal. It put the emphasis on working on a strategy and it created variety in the matches and the opponents you faced. If the whole team is made up of star players it kind of negates the point in having them. This feels like it'll be the same match over and over, regardless of who you pick and who you'll face. I share your concerns that this will get way too repetitive way too quickly.

Watching strikers charged from wii gameplay and right after extract from the new one on switch is heartbreaking, look how slow they go, everything is smoothed out. I think that having armor upgrades that change stats is a cool idea but having to do this with each character would be tedious and dumb, maybe it applies to everyone on ur team which would be better but then people would complain that u should be able to customize each character individually. We don’t have the sound design too for the moment, it was really good in charged, and it was following the fact that you were obligated to pass the ball to charge it. The metallic sound was making it so unique it was some gameplay feature with a lot of sense for a game who make you play not completely just football but stricker.

i will say that the little things that could be abused in strikers charged definitely made it annoying though. There was a strat I remember with boo where if you charged the ball to white and passed it to boo and then he would use his d pad move to teleport a little bit could get behind the goalie. Shit was disgusting... anyways thats how i beat the story mode on hardest difficulty. God i miss charged though brought back some good memories with that one

I hated strikers when I was young
I didn’t have online and I feel like it’s one of those games that needs it
I don’t like controlling every character who receives the ball,I’d much prefer to play with many people each playing their own role
Definitely takes a lot of getting used to. I found that when I first played it, I got a bit disoriented with how swapping to another player shifts the camera over to where they are. Idk, that part took some adjusting.
And the online aspect of both or those games are still going somewhat strong thanks, to the age of emulation and all that.
About your "moving the slide to the d pad comment" They had to do that. The difference is that in charged, when you're on defence, you can intercept the ball with a pass/shoot during enemy passes (this wasn't in strikers original)
I love the first one. I never gave the second one a chance because I didn’t want to deal with motion controls. I’m pumped for Battle League.
The first game is GOATED, but please, try the second one out! The motion controls are pretty easy to get past and most of the time don't really affect the core gameplay that much!

I think Battle League has a few small steps in the right direction, but overall, it ends up being a downgrade from charged. Too cramped, yet too bare bones. That melee to Brawl comparison comment really hit home.
Guess now is as good a time as ever to my opinion on the game seeing as I spent all weekend playing it.
Although I can say with certainty that it's my least favorite game of the 3, battle league was still a fantastic game. The core gameplay hasn't been changed at all, the new mechanics I think are really cleverly implemented, and the animations are just as lively and charming as I was hoping for.
It's really just the speed of the game that makes me rank it a bit lower. It's not as fast paced and frantic as the first 2. But really aside from that, I can say that I really enjoyed my time.
With that being said, I never rlly found the game to be "cramped" at all, and even though I do agree with game being bare bones in comparison to charged it never rlly came off as boring or repetitive. Like the OG it's still very skill based with passing and aligning your shots! But, that's just me.
Also Brawl is better than Melee so....am I missing something?

Mario golf super rush was severely lacking in character animations. In super rush they changed daisy's losing audioclip from her saying "whatever" to her going "boo". The Mario Power Tennis from gamecube was lot of fun, it can get quite chaotic in a 2v2 and lot of special clutch when you think you’re about to lose. Best Mario Tennis game.
The baseball game gamecube is better than the Wii one. Never enjoyed the golf games.
Strikers are hands down the best. The Switch version seem slower pace, probably because the team aspect each player controlling one specific character.

Yea I pretty much agree with all of that. I mean of the 4 types of sports games I played for the video, I enjoyed Strikers obvs, but I also did have some fun with Golf and Tennis; It's just that my thing with them is that they just don't have much personality to them.
