This game came with no move list, and when you did find out a few moves the button sequence to pull it off was not consistent, the enemy a.i gives no fucks about your ineptitude at the game either.Literally named the worst game of all time multiple times by multiple sources.

For a shitty game the animation is actually kinda good.
Agreed, it's surprisingly fluid and actually nice to look at. The storyline, or lack thereof, and overworld may be terrible but the overall design of the game is decent for the era.
The reason the animation looks nice is because the studio that made the animations rotoscoped them from real life actors. However, the problem is that normal people take a lot longer to start a jump than ryu, so the game feels really slow

Its is well known that in almost all cases the peaceful protests are being invaded by anarchistic black bloc members using this to incite whatever aggression they can in the name of politics. Believe it or not the controls are NOT unresponsive in this game.
The problem is your jump goes in a fixed arc, and something I've never seen in even the worst fighting games, you can't do moves while starting/ending a jump/crouch animation.
There's dozens of baffling decisions like this, like the music is 3 minutes long on the cartridge, but you only hear about 30 seconds of it, when you hit an opponent on the floor they immediately get up and take no damage, the Genesis version has twice as much characters despite being less powerful... It feels like Battlefield Earth in game form, so much work put into shit.
This Battlefield Earth analogy is so apropos, it's apro-professional!

So holy shit, there is an IndieGoGo campaign, made by Shaq, for a remake of this game. Shaq-Fu: A Legend Reborn. They started the campaign in 2014. They reached their goal. As of a month ago they say theyare almost done. We WILL get a new Shaq-Fu this year! 2017 is going to be a great year.

Arin makes a good point (the animation and art style is nice, and it does seem awkward like there's too many frames of animation.) and Dan does too (the characters are neat but they need to be fleshed out and given backstory in game) I think with a little polish, and legitimate effort even if the story puts space jam to shame in ridiculousness it'd be quite fun :P

Audric Sage I think the game is definitely interesting enough for me to watch 100 episodes. For me. I guess not for everyone, but I REALLY want them to play it. Atleast the first few hours of the game.

I'm down with seeing Dan get scared, but idk, I feel like the game does such a good job keeping the player occupied, they wouldn't be able to tell the awesome jokes and stories they're known for, the type of comedy that doesn't have too much to do with the actual game.
