I just made my first piece using some of your tutorials! Built a massive dragon's lair and used several of your techniques. Had a ton of fun and it's just got me excited to try out more of your suggestions and techniques. Thanks for making this content!
Haha yer there is a sneaky hidden frog in there but the footage was blurry of him going in and he was lost to the resin pour. But there will be frogs in the scatter/islands that go ontop
This looked like a lot of work but the end result was amazing! The water looks great. I would recommend mixing a little bit of black in with yellow ink for nice swampy green.
Thanks 😁 I definitely need to work on my colour theory for resin colouring. I never mix enough colour for the final result. And haha yer it was a fair bit of work, but I'm a little obsessed with having the most realistic set peices I can manage on my table. Sometimes I've gotta remember it's just for one game haha
@@SebMakesStuff Funny you should say that I'm working on Shrek's hut right now haha, not a whole swamp diorama to be fair just the little hut but I'd love to see your version too
ive never had any issues with the stuff i use. but i do make sure to seal up and paint my foam before pouring the resin so in my case the resin should never be coming in contact directly with the foam. and the slow setting stuff like this doesnt get hot enough to cause any issues. but im sure there would be some that might, so small trest peices are always a smart approach before pouring resing all over a build youve spent ages on.....but since when do i do the smart thing? haha
Nice build in itself, but my eyes keep tripping over the frame, but that's just me. Perhaps a similar green mixed with greys, browns and a few drops of black to blend the frame in a bit more? Perhaps you might even consider adding some flocking to the inside of the frame, perhaps even on top. Just a few suggestions, never mind me 😊
I think it's a very good suggestion. The frame was a bit of an oversight and last minute paint job. But I agree, I definitely could have made it blend in a bit nicer. I only really even did it as a way to hold in the resin. But on future builds I'll be focusing more on the frame, because it does make a big difference in the end
The only part that's a bit expensive is the resin for large pours. But the rest isn't too bad. And you can get around a lot of the expencive things with cheaper varieties. You could easily skip all the texture paints and just glue down some dirt and sand then give it a paint. PVA glue works as an alternative to mod podge. And you can get static grass, Tufts and flowers for pretty cheap on Amazon. I like to go a little bit extra with my builds, but you can definitely do something close to this for a lot cheaper if you cut a few corners
@@SebMakesStuff thanks a lot for the advice! 😃 Im always thinking about making everything perfect, at best, from the get go😅. So the first thing that came to my mind was: "thats amazing! i NEED all of this." But first, i better get started and get the expirience!😅
Always happy to talk craft! Haha I feel that! The perfectionist takes over. But you definitely learn more on the ones that aren't perfect. Even this build taught me a lot that I'll do differently in the future. 1% better every build!
I would love to see that! Alot of that little stuff I have collected over a few years of making and painting minis, Any left over bits from sprues, and a good chunk of 3d printed tiny bits. I'll add the links to the 3d printed models into the description today if you have a 3d printer. Otherwise you can get a big box of skulls from games workshop for a decent price that will last you forever.
@@SebMakesStuff amazing thank you so much I’m going to check out games workshop and search for some spare parts, once I’ve finished the swamp I show you it going to add a few things into just got to source the resin from now any tips on the resin?
Can't wait to see it! I just got my resin from Amazon. Things to look for are key words like "deep pour" and "non yellowing" but I go for the cheapest stuff for can find usually haha
It's just a cheap flocking I got from a local hobby shop, I wish I had kept track of the actual product name. But it's basically just a small bright green foam flocking. I'll see if I can find any history of the actual brand, but I tend to lose the packaging for things pretty quickly haha
Interesting, never thought about mixing spray paint into resin before. I might have to test that out. I feel like it could make for some interesting effects depending on how well you mixed it in
Dude, this turned out so sick. The flocking sinking to the bottom turned out awesome. Love that rice hack, too!
Thankyou 😁
Gotta love a happy accident! It's given me a new technique haha

I love this! Makes me so happy to hear that my little hobby videos are helping others with their own crafts. Hope I can keep helping out 😁
Fantastic terrain! Love the turtle, doesn't rival your epic frogs though. keep it up!

Awesome work. Definitely need a board like this for my Warhammer troll horde to display and play on. Very well done.
Love that! I've currently got mine on a shelf with the floating islands I built. and its a perfect place to display an army
Amazing build! ☺️ Your patience to create a masterpiece like this is astounding.
Can’t wait to see it on Tomes and Tales! 😁
Great work as always. 😋🥰
thank you :) you're always my biggest fan :P

That is an awesome board!!!!! Beautifully done!!! 😊😊😊
why thank you :) can't wait to make more resin pours!
@@SebMakesStuff you are welcome 🤗
I can’t wait to see more 🤗🤗🤗
Ohhh I really love the base!! Maybe I can just find a cheap frame instead of building it from scratch. Love all the details Seb, thanks a lot!!
100% you could. I like working in old frames. Especially when you can find a cool ornate frame from a thrift shop
Subbed, as I don't want to miss those floating islands xD
You make great stuff man, please keep it up!
Floating islands should be out in the next few days, I just need to finish the edit. They are a lot of fun to build!
Amazing build,i could see this as a basis for a diorama, Frodo Baggins in the swamps 🤔
Cheers! And yep! This build inspired the exact same thought in my mind! I might just have to make that Diorama
So rad good stuff man awesome job! 🔥
Appreciate it!
I love the duckweed! I think it works great with the slightly-clearer water.
Yer I was super rhaopy with how it came out. Definitely going to use that method again in the future
This is soooooo cool, love it!
Cheers! Been meaning to make a swamp board for soooo long! Now I want to make more
I'm feeling a Shrek's swamp Diorama haha

Hey how does the foam behave with the resin? I know some epoxy/resin get hot while they cure. Have you ever had issues using it with the foam?

I’m trying to replicate this for my first ever dnd build but I have no idea where to get the little scenery from like the Skelton and the shields etc
I would love to see that!

Great video! Can you provide the product name for the bright green clock you used on top of the water?

Is there a reason you went with nylon bristles? And not natural brush?
I couldn't find a cheap natural brush haha otherwise I definitely would have
U probably could of used ur green spray paint in the apox resin, I've seen it on stone coat apox. Sorry if I missed spelled epoxy

Looks great! Stealing some ideas from this video.
Steal as much as you like! That's how we all do it 😋
So good bro
Cheers, I love a good resin pour and always keen to make more game boards
