  • In 1983, the Republic of Ireland instituted a constitutional ban on abortion. The 8th Ammendment was the result of the efforts of conservative Catholic lobbying which was inspired by events both on the island of Ireland in the US.
This video was produced prior to the ammendment being repealed by referendum in 2018.

Thought this channel was dead. Glad to see a new episode. Don't worry about the views. You are criminally underappreciated. UA-cam needs more of this great stuff, which just needs some publicity. Bring back regular episodes.

I may or may not have shared the video in some groups. This depends on which assholes in which groups comment here.

Do you do alternate history? I ask because the World Science Fiction Convention in 2019 will be in Dublin. Maybe they'd be interested in your appearing?

This video is based on proper research and well informed politics. It is very rewarding to gain such an insight in concurrent Irish politics and culture, especially as a foreigner.
I know that it is fairly impolite to request specific topics. Nonetheless, I want to suggest a couple of topics, which I'm personally interested in and that might help to foster a wider audience with proper ethos:
    - something about the life of Captain James Robert "Jack" White
    - the Connolly Column in the Spanish Civil War
    - past and current activities of the Workers Solidarity Movement
