Kazuma's party does complete some very dangerous quests but now that they have a mansion to live in Aqua's laziness and Kazuma's shut-in nature can come out. Somehow they've managed to save enough money to live on so why do quests? But that's pretty low the way they've manipulated Kazuma into taking the quests.
A small part of me can't blame the guild for trying to motivate them. Kazuma's party managed to defeat three generals of the Devil King's army as well as the Destroyer, which had been terrorizing the world for centuries. This party of misfit idiots has accomplished more in the fight for peace than anyone alive today. That being said, I do agree that their motivational attempt was very underhanded.
Fun fact axis towns people stop making business in hotspring water instead start making businesses in selling those waters which aqua's purified because it's so effective in dealing with undead in demon lord's army so they still make money for living.
Darkness was finally abused in the way she likes, love that for her. Kazuma rushed into a bdsm relationship without establishing boundaries and consent, deserved. #MechForMegumin
The blond pervy guy is named Dust, he and his team had their introduction cut from the anime like with Wiz (her introduction did get a very brief mention tho that's it for the anime). The main group have been to more adventures than it's shown in the anime and they have a bit more seriousness to them which I think is the reason they were cut out because they're focusing on adapting the very funny moments or the ones that are very relevant, Konosuba should've had 12 episodes +1 OVA each season for it to be adapted properly but they did do a very good job with only 10 episodes per season imo, the adaptation is great I just wish it was longer.
Poor Darkness, the Golem and the Robot Dominatrix both would have made her life so full of joy. But Aqua and Megumin could not stand it, so both creations were destroyed. Classic Konusuba - as soon as there is a chance for the better, they somehow ruin it very quick.
The thing is Kazuma can’t see Aqua as anything romantic, she’s just Aqua (basically like a sibling) Megumin isn’t in Kazuma’s strike zone, he actually likes big sister types I thing? Darkness is Kazuma’s type but her personality turns him off. He might seem perverted, but he actually wants a genuine relationship with proper courtship etc. So every time Darkness speaks, he recalls that the owner of the body is Darkness.
The interesting thing here is that the guild has not just the funds and resources but the experience to do this sort of thing... and it ends up highlighting how much government spending is going into maintaining a "town for beginning adventurers" and thus how great the perceived need is.
Pervy blonde guy with the Succubus coupons, Dust, has his own spinoff book series and I think I like it a little better. Only 7 books instead of 17 like the main line (which at this rate would be about 6 more seasons if there are no more movies). It's got a bit more of a tragic tinge to the backstory and finale.
Again, take note. NONE of this is canon. This is animated fanfiction. This actually spoils some things that were supposed to be revealed after too. And vaguely spoils some actual interactions that were gonna happen way later. It's like a worse written version of those events. Particularly what happens inside the guild.
They are good at getting dangerous jobs done, but no one likes any of them bc they are all troublesome and have bad reputations in their own right. So it makes sense that the guild would want them out of town as much as possible.
Kazuma always gets his comeuppance. He's a good person at heart, but he has several notable flaws and I think that makes him far more interesting than if he was a traditional heroic character.
You know, there’s so many isekais out there, I doubt I’ve even watched a tenth of them! But still, it’s prob safe to say that when it comes to protagonists, Kazuma is the most pitiful loser of them all, right? 😂 Well at least he got off yet another Steal.
