There are at least 4 coaches that deserve coach of the year more than Andy Reid, and it's not because any of them are necessarily better coaches but that they all have done more with less. That's not to say the cheifs haven't had their share of problems, but almost all the questions around the cheifs this season are self-imposed. There is Dan Campbell, who has the most injured team in the league and has been for a while now and still are tied for the second best record this year. Then you have Dan Quinn and jim harbough, whom both just took over teams that had losing records last year and are now most likely in the playoffs. Finally, kevin o'connell who had a losing season last year, and everyone was writing off this year before the season even began when jj McCarthy went down. Again it's not that Andy isn't a good coach, he's one of the best all time, but he just hasn't really done anything this season that stands out compared to the four I listed and there's some arguments that could be made about a few others.

I've been a Chargers fan since I was kid, growing up in SoCal in the 60s, and I've seen them in this situation many, many times before. I mention that by way of being brutally honest about the 'culture' of the S.D./L.A. Chargers: they have an ethos of losing (AKA choking) in the playoffs, and while Harbaugh is an amazingly talented coach, I don't see him fixing that, at least not in his first year there. Call me jaded, but after 55+ years of Chargers fandom, I'm just being 100% real here. When I was younger, I was sure I'd see a Charger Superbowl win at some point, especially during the Fouts/Coryell years, but it never happened. Ditto my 30s, 40s, 50s, and so on. I know what you mean. I was watching John Hadl and Lance Alworth in the AFL as a kid in SoCal. Chargers always had spotty attendance and poor fan support because their are just too many sports things to do in San Diego. USED TO BE... Less than 90 minutes to ocean, desert, baja or Big Bear. You could surf morning and ski Big Bear or fish the kelp beds then go race motorcycles in the desert and be back before dinner. Hang gliding off Torry pines then hit Baja. You can golf pretty much 365 days a year. We were Charger fans but not the way some poor guy stuck in like Green Bay, Buffalo, Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, Cleveland etc are dedicated to spending money on sports bars and pro sports. That's why San Diego lost its pro football team altogether.

Oh, and Creed Humphrey, who is the second highest graded center. Oh, and McDuffie, who is the second highest graded CB. Oh, and Reid, who is a top 20 safety in the league per PFF.
