Looking at that launch on the 1/4 mile to much weight is shifting off your front tyres as you can see your front end lift on the holeshot and 2nd gear. Buy some stiffer springs for the rear to keep the weight where you need it and limit wheel spin and hop .
Very nice! I have the same intercooler and i got the st3 shifter as well. That IC has done wonders. The only issue i had on my st was the water pump, it took a shit catastrophically at about 60,000 miles. Just driving down the road, wasn’t even romping on it. Shifted into second and suddenly my boost gauge shot up and then i saw a ton of smoke and mist behind me. I was able to limp it home but it terrified me, lol i thought the block had cracked or something.
This seems much more simple than I was imagining. Well, as far as the amount of components to do it. I just got a 2015 and was wanting to get an average or consistent 325 but I'd take 340 if this is what it takes.
You could probably get more with a better tuner/tuner, this is just what I had. I've seen same set ups make 350-360 but that may be pushing stock system.

I’m fbo custom dyno tune locally making 298whp & 352lbft of torque to the wheels on stock turbo, I can’t justify spending 3500$ on gtx2867, exhale kit with custom bov relocated, new charge pipes all for 50hp if I’m lucky & maybe 10 more lbft of torque. Maybe down the road when I build the block with some decent internals, I’ll get a real big turbo G-660. Kinda miss Ej257/Ej255 platform, You could go big turbo for around 1200$ total!
I went big turbo for around $1300. Bought a used bnr 2867, and used exhale kit. Tune was $225 on a father's day sale. Stock fuel maxes out around 370 whp and the turbo I got can do 400 whp plus with upgraded fueling. If you buy used or even brand new pulsar you can do it for real cheap.

The Garret is very middle of the road in terms of power and reliability but is very cost effective! It’s what I personally think is the best set up for the car and has done me great!
Yea 2500 is kind of affordable in the vast scheme of things considering that turbos for other platforms are like 6.5k Which is in my opinion a little bit too much

Not a bad set up, i was surprised when you said 340whp and it was the 2867R...I believe even without ethanol you can still push that turbo to the stock fuel limits of around 370+whp. Unless you're on 91 octane or something...or its the tuning software/tuner not wanting to get the most power out of your stock fueling? I know my BNR3071 maxes out on stock fuel quickly on 93oct, but my XDi HPFP is ready to go in once my tuner and i are ready to tune for it. The stock fuel system can handle E30 so that will up the power quite a bit, but as i said I dont think you'd need it unless you're trying to max power on less boost (which is always good for the engine!). Definitely a sleeper even at 340whp... probably about the perfect track/autoX set up too depending on the a/r you went with, I'm still trying to get used to the slightly slower spool of the 3071 .72 a/r.
Yeah, I've seen some other focus on this turbo make more power, but my tuner says I'm running out of fuel on top end. Going to inquire with a another tuner soon. Thank you for reaching out :)
@@StayTunedMavericks definitely not running out of fuel unless your injectors are just bad or a sensor is wonky somewhere that's cutting fuel, but that would usually be followed by a lot of misfires and P00088/P00087 or some other fuel codes (high/low pressure thresholds are off)... I know i had a fuel rail pressure sensor fail at the race track a few years back, i got hundreds of misfires at once and the above codes came through...but if the injectors are just junked up and the pattern or pressure is off, you can always go pay about $100 and have an injector specialist rebuild/flow test your original ones. Some tuners prob play it very safe and just dont want to be liable for any failures.. which is understandable. I'm pretty sure JST or Edge would be willing to hit your fueling limits as its still safe if they know what they're doing.

I'm tuned with Brian at jst. I'm running 29psi on 93. With the gtx gen2 2867. I also went with the bigger hot side. I got thr .86ar. He estimates around 360-370 whp. Which is maxing my stock fuel out. I never put in on rollers. To verify. Buy even Alen over at edge has Lot videos about the max of stock fuel system. So inclined to belive those numbers.
The side mirror light was one of my favorite mods for my ST. Havnt seen it on a single other ST or RS I've seen locally. Where did you get that 200cell downpipe?
Hi different account but I'm the guy with the focus. The 200 cell catted dp I got is the Accelatec downpipe. I believe it is CJ pony part's own brand. I do not believe they sell it anymore. I would suggest going Depo for this as well.

Confused on 2 things those rear lights come standard on any st1 st2 st3 facelift and gear knob is an upgrade not from factory, but biggest thing is did you forge the engine
@@Kpastrsn I also had to order the elbow to get the part to fit correctly. It was so long ago I don't particularly remember what went wrong, I just know it took a lot of finagling to get it on and snug.
Go with the Ford Performance exhaust. It's pretty tame when you're just cruising around town. But it sounds absolutely amazing when you get on it. I've had mine for 3 or 4 years...no complaints at all. No problems with droning at any speed.
I thought about doing that for a good while, but the one I wanted was always out of stock. With the lower grill delete, it helps make the look more flush.
I'd love one too, but in UK we have too many speed bumps. It'll just scrape.. and also when I service my car - the ramps we have at home will just scrape the splitter :(

Thank you! The SE internals are not the same, the ST has forged connecting rods while the SE does not. I wouldn't suggest modding an SE (no hate) but I would imagine you'll top out around 300 while the ST tops at about 450
As the first and only owner of this car since I was 17, I have to respectfully disagree. The price between the Focus ST and RS BASE MSRP is over $11,000. If you are going to spend nearly 40 grand to buy a Focus, why not just go get a Mustang? Hell, the 5.0 from 2017 starts at $33,000, while the RS starts at $36,000. The ST fits comfortably below both of those starting prices at $25,000. Even after 4 grand in mods, I still come out with less money spent on the ST than I would have buying either of those, not to mention the mods were spread out over the 6 years I've owned the car. As well, the Focus RS has 350bhp, not 400. My car happily sits with 390HP at the crank.

The ST is the start of the focus sport line and a very good car as for the mustang cmon it's terrible, a totally different beast from any focus . I am on my 3rd focus now for my personal car but I have driven nearly all the ST models released plus as far back as the first RS both mod and standard. Unfortunately never had the pleasure of driving a cosworth simply because they cost a fortune . Believe me when I tell you it will cost more in the long term that straight up going RS way . That being said I'm not having a dig at you at all I just don't get buying a ST then dropping so much on it especially mapping it . If you have the money to do it then good luck to you but I know my focus's very well .

Anyways I bought my '14 ST with 54k miles for $14k, totally stock.... so yeah not anywhere close to RS price even if I were to mod it to the same power as an RS. I imagine insurance would be more on an RS as well. That's why people buy the ST And for what it's worth dude the S550 is a really nice car. I've driven like every car on the road aside from actual supercars from working at a couple dealerships, and to me the S550 is the best out of the modern muscle cars. Behind corvettes maybe but I haven't driven a lot of those
@@corbinhaynes7543 well I'm in U.K. and both of my mates rs on dyno made 387 and 401 which were both stock so I'd say it is up for debate . With regards to you buying a 14 plate for that price is not difficult but what I was talking about was new and a year old . The RS is a much better car but the Sts are lovely cars , pushing them engines is not good in the long term which was my point and will cost a fortune . Also using bought mapping tools can also cause issues as I'm sure you are aware . With regards to insurance a mod ST is much higher on insurance than a stock RS but I guess that's different in America.

I've not heard of water pump issues on these cars, I'll have to keep my eyes out for that as well. Hope everything turned out okay!
Mine went out at 118k miles. Sad but other than that never had a problem with it. Even as high miles as it is.

Oem+ is what I strive for. You'll get there one day, it takes time! I didn't get my first mod until 2 years after I bought it
ive had the cpe on both my st and they are by far theeee best money can buy. one thing you should never cheap out on is cooling fuel and oil

Protect your intake valves. It is well worth it to install at least the front catch can with the updated baffle-type plate.

You dont need to build the engine for anything below 400whp. There are even 400+ builds that are stock motor but wont live as long.

I'm pretty sure you can make 300bhp on stock turbo with the correct breather mods and an ecu remap

It really isn't that bad, with the downpipe it's more noticable though. It drones mostly around 60 mph, but it isn't unbearable.

@@corbinhaynes7543 well I'm in U.K. and both of my mates rs on dyno made 387 and 401 which were both stock so I'd say it is up for debate .
With regards to you buying a 14 plate for that price is not difficult but what I was talking about was new and a year old . The RS is a much better car but the Sts are lovely cars , pushing them engines is not good in the long term which was my point and will cost a fortune . Also using bought mapping tools can also cause issues as I'm sure you are aware . With regards to insurance a mod ST is much higher on insurance than a stock RS but I guess that's different in America.
