My favorite thing about loose watercolor art is its ability to convey the beauty of a subject or scene without the busyness of fine details. As a novice, I do find it hard to remember to keep things simple and stop fussing! Thanks for the tips!
Thanks for watching.
I think you do so well❤
Thank you so much!!
Measure twice, cut once and the Kiss method combined. Highly logical, especially if you wanted to do a detail subject in the foreground with supporting scenery.

Thank you so much for that lesson, I really needed to hear that!
You are so welcome!
These tips are wonderful. Anything on how to keep going through the ugly phase? I rip up too many projects when I get to that point because I can not see to an end result. It may be simplifying the composition will work.
I agree with you 100%. The ugly middle stage is such a challenge. A few things that help me. 1) Don't freak out or get frustrated and do something rash. Stay calm. :-) 2) Take a break and come back later with fresh eyes. 3) Hold it up to a mirror to see if you can see something that can be improved. 4) Be bold and add some dark DARKS in a few key areas. I find this contrast can really help a weak painting.
thanks for the tips. i'm in that struggle right now.
You got this!
I needed this! Thank you!!!🙏🏼
You're welcome. Thanks for watching.
Oh yeah. I want to paint it alllllllllll
Go for it.
Oh....I see what you are saying. NO. Don't paint it all. SIMPLIFY! Haha. Thanks for watching.
There is one other thing. Just begin.
So true!! Thanks for watching and commenting.
You are wright...😮
Thanks for watching
Great ideas here. The mark of success for me is when my paintings looks good after squinting my eyes! The thing I love most about watercolor is that I don't HAVE to be detailed, and I can be "done" whenever I want :)
Thanks for watching and leaving feedback, Dan. :-)
