I read this, he was a kid when they first met and the girl is already like that, she is kind of a ghost that when forgotten will disappear, her perception of time will still be the same when she disappear, then the boy forgot her and she was wondering why the boy didn't come back because the boy said he had a crush on her and would always come to her house sometime sleeping over but the boy, now a young man remembered her when hearing a gossip about her, the slit mouth lady from his students he's already a teacher at that time is teaching at elementary or kindergarten, it's a rumor that she would scare kid in the playground, that how they originally met burt he wasn't scared of her, and she only do it because she want to continue to exist and to do that she had to be remembered so she made herself an urban legend, then he rushed to the playground and he saw her scaring kids and then hold her wrist while the kids ran away thanking him she didn't recognize him until he explained that he didn't forget her and that he was the one spreading the rumor of her so that she can come back to existence and that he didn't left her and that she just vanished one day so he spread the rumors about her. And now hes a young man and want her to be his girlfriend.

Well shit, time to go read this and see if it makes me cry like the last four manga I’ve read that fit these criteria.
What are the other four? Asking for a friend.
I'm that guy whose more interested in personality than looks. I've been with all kinds and all shapes of women and I gotta say, I feel lucky that I learned something real young that most don't learn till much later in life. Looks will fade, but it's the person who you should love. Not the one you see with your eyes, but the one you feel with your heart. I found someone who doesn't fit any of the things I thought I wanted out of someone. I was more into someone like Revy from Black Lagoon, but I fell for essentially Hinata from Naruto. Who she is matters infinitely more than what she looks like. She's smart, funny, quiet, she believes in me, my thoughts, dreams, goals. She doesn't have a bad thing to say about anyone, and believe me, we've run into some people worth saying some words about. But she makes me want to be a better version of myself. I never knew it was possible to be treated this good. That was it. I decided this is all I want. I want to give her all of my tomorrows. All of my heart. All of everything I am.
Technically we're not together anymore. We had a crisis of identity and realized we were changing ourselves for all the wrong reasons so we could be what the other wanted, but we were losing ourselves in the process. We took some time away, but she came back and we decided that the title of boyfriend and girlfriend was putting too much strain of expectations on us and that gave us too much pressure. So, I accepted the slight demotion so we could grow as individuals and over time our relationship grows deeper and more fulfilling.
The hardest part was seeing how much I needed to change and realizing just because I "leveled up" doesn't mean I'm at the right level to be ready to be in a relationship. It's also not all me. Even if I get there, she's gotta level up too. Sense we have a long distance relationship, I'm exposed to more things in my region that could level up my sense of self, but she has responsibilities that she can't walk away from that prevent her from working on herself for longer than a couple hours a day. So we're progressing at different rates and I have to respect that.
Honestly, because of her, my whole life has improved. Even my relationship with my parents. I wish we were together, but I'm glad we have this too. God I love her so much. I can't wait for the day she says those 3 words "I love you." Because I'll say the 3 words every woman wants to hear back "Want some fudge?"

Read about 46 chapters. It's a really awesome and wholesome story, with many interesting characters, their stories, and a plot that somehow make sense? (For me, at least) it's nevertheless worth trying. Recommend 10/10.

Spoiler:miroku wanted to tell kouichi about how urban legends die and she made a prank with the other urban legends who are already friends with kouichi and they accepted it and there the story goes.
Story: they were going to propose but then uda (kouichi's bodyguard) showed up to ruin it and then miroku rejected kouichi saying that she never felt that way and it had kouichi broken in thoughts and he couldn't sleep at night and he was wandering around the house and then he saw miroku's body in their river (not the real miroku). She told kouichi that what didn't kouchi saved her earlier and then she started to tell about what it feels to be an urban legend and then kouichi says "get out of my sight" and then she smirked while going into pieces. (kouichi not knowing that she was an illusion that miroku's friend made for her to prank him) and when she was going away she said that she hopes it won't end like they did in the past. Kouichi doesn't know what that meant and whatsoever. After when she shattered in air and then kouichi wakes up again on his bed and goes out to see miroku while she wasn't founded and when she asked the maid then she said that "who are you talking about someone named miroku?" And then he thought that the kotodama (the power of his words that could make anything true like kill yourself or don't die, then it actually will happen) koichi thought that his kotodama or power of words made miroku erased by his existence and he thought that she got erased by the words "get out of my sight" erased her and kouichi ran around the whole city finding miroku but couldn't find her and he was defeated but then he saw one of miroku's friend (satoru). When kouichi asked him about miroku then he really knew about miroku's existence and then satoru goes to his house and gives kouichi the thread that was of miroku's thread and said good luck and kouichi fell into a dark cave and then it revealed that his fear is...bugs...there was a very big spider in the cave and then miroku appeared behind kouichi and then she pulled her out of the cave and then they go to a railway track and there is when they finally kiss and miroku confesses her love and that time kouichi actually gets scared and it made it a tie between them. He earned miroku's love and she managed to scare him.

Kuchisake-onna is a monster that will ask you a question "Do you think i'm pretty?" if you say yes she will show you her real face and ask again, if you say no she will kill you, if you say yes she will cut your mouth to be like hers.

Uda was BASED. His backstory was so wholesome. He needs to be promoted from side character that’s in like 70% of chapters to main character.
Honestly, Kuchisake is one of the least horrifying of the Japanese monsters, and that's saying something.
