You know how Coop wanted to move to Bakersfield? It would be a shame if there was a vault that got left open there that produced a city of ghouls.
Fallout 3 shows us cannibals in a remarkably well preserved suburban development with shrubbery. Cannibal gardeners are cannon
Regarding the soil in Vault 33, recall that corpses from the wedding massacre were being hauled off to composting . . .
Her name is Mall Diver. She dives malls AND steals dads 😢
Maximus never trained on the T-60 and has no idea what he's doing. When he was fighting the Ghoul, Cooper noted that Maximus was so incompetent with the armour that he didn't even think he read the manual, which he didn't.
Maximus isn't a bad person.
Crop rotation is where you plant something for awhile and after a few seasons it diminishes the soil and then you plant something different and certain things will bring nutrients back to the soil and then you do it all over again.
The Pip-Boy that uses your smart phone is what is being used in this series. Ella Purnell mentioned in an interview that she broke several iPhones because she waives her hands around a lot when speaking, and kept launching the phones out of the prop. LOL
The flag is another 'alternate history' thing. In the late 60's of the in-game history, the US becomes 13 Commonwealths by merging States, though there's no detailed mention of what happens to Alaska and Hawaii, which don't have land borders with any other states or territories.
There's a manual release to get out of the suit, but he was never actually trained in how to use them, so I don't think he actually knows about the release.
I'm 100% right there with you on Maximus. I think Aaron Moten, Maximus' actor, is just crushing it. I also think that the character was written so wonderfully. It's honestly kind of "brave" I think since he's not a stereotypical character in any way. He's not "super good" or "super badass" or even particularly "masculine" or anything else. He's not even the "every man" character. He's a weird, mildly bumbling, self-centered character with fantasies of being a "good guy." I'm very intrigued to see where they take his character.
Agreed. Dropping a whole season is great for the binge and move on mentality but you miss out on the speculation and commentary between episodes. I find that the anticipation of the next episode in a week to be a powerful tool for building hype for a series.
Shady sands was not destroyed in a game… This story mostly takes place later than the games (flashbacks not included of course), and even the nuking of Shady Sands is after the storyline players are familiar with, which helps with the various mysteries of this show.
Shady Sands is from Fallout 1 and Fallout 2 (the first Settlement any Fallout player ever entered)
T-45 power armor was the first armor during the war in the Alaska, the T-51 improved upon the weakness of the 45 and used during the bulk of the war, however it costed more to make, the T-60 took the 45 and refitted it with the T-51 improvements, the brotherhood still retrofit T-45s. The X-01 02 & 03 were all post great war creations made by the archenemy of the brotherhood.

Wow, perception +1 for Claroos for seeing the 4 on the suits

In Fallout 4, if you remove the fusion core from power armor, the armor opens up automatically and its owner gets out. The owner doesn't get stuck inside the armor. It's a great way to steal power armor and fusion cores from raiders. I assume there is a manual release inside the armor somewhere and Maximus just doesn't know where it is or how to use it since he obviously hasn't read the manual. In earlier Fallout games you have to go through training before you can use power armor. In Fallout 4 the player is ex-military and therefore already knows how to use power armor and doesn't require training. However, if the player is female, she is a lawyer and not ex-military. But she still knows how to use power armor. I guess the legal system is a bit of a tougher profession in the Fallout universe.
Most of the vaults were various experiments, but there were some that were "control" vaults, that functioned exactly as advertised.
