@@ChrisVZ77 I came to say exactly the same thing, this whole show's just a goldmine waiting for this year's Halloween. Vault suits will be the other big one I think. You might have thought of it already, but if you're going with a Ghoul costume you could paint your nose black to make it clearer - otherwise it's an outfit that could be confused with other Westerns by people unfamiliar with _Fallout_
A particularly cute Easter Egg in Fallout 4 that's acknowledged in the show: if you put a teddy bear into Dogmeat's inventory, he'll gain a new idle-fidget animation where he gets it out and plays with it, just like this show's version of Dogmeat does.
Fun Fact In the interview Walton Goggins the guy who plays the Ghoul in this show tells a story about he actually took a nap while he's wearing the prostheitic make up on then he'a woke up he dosen't remember of taking a nap and he look at the mirror and scared the sh*t out at himself lol
Everyone at the birthday party were taking pictures when the first bomb dropped, so the flash of the bomb was hidden among the flashbulbs. I really liked that detail.
This show portrays the vault dweller so well, so often in the games you're thrown into insane situations and you're kind of just like "ok, I guess we're doing this!" And then have to deal with the consequences.
The shot she gave herself after being stabbed is called a stimpak. It's health in the game. That's how the ghoul revived the dog. The device on her wrist is called a pip-boy. It's a main part of the game.
My friend and I were watching these together a couple weeks ago and she asked what was in the Stimpak. Hitpoints, my dear. The Stimpak contains hitpoints.
Fallout is a mixture of dark humor, slapstick cartoon comedy and a weird sort of post-apocalyptic optimism all mixed into one. The world is so over-the-top in everything that it makes a world-ending apocalypse look like fun - and it is!
The Ghoul is a ghoul, someone irradiated by the bombs and given powers of regeneration (including extended lifespan) but at the cost of their appearance and a slow mental degeneration.
The bear creature is called a Yao guai (from Chinese for monster/demon - typically spirits of animals). It is a mutated Americal Black bear. A frightening wildlife encounter in the games.
Now you know why so many people love the games. It's all there in the show; the absurdity, the dark humor, the gore and violence, the lore and characters. Maximus saw that Titus was a coward and Titus would have killed him to eliminate the witness. It's just that Titus was too stupid to wait for Maximus to treat him first. He was too used to the squires being brainwashed automatons who would never ever consider disobeying a knight.
I am honestly 100% behind Maximus in his decision. Titus was a coward and malicious and actually threating someone whom his live depends on is dumb enough to gain him the Darwin award.
As a fan of the games who loved the show, I'm really glad the algorithm put your video my way. Seeing a new fan get so invested, and so brilliantly excited was great! Keen to watch you follow this series through.
You should play some of the games. There are so many little details and references to them in this series. From things like the perfect sound the stimpack (the needle like health pack) to the YuGui( the mutatated bear) and the look of the power armour suit, to the barman(the two headed cow). It improves the viewing pleasure with all the WOW! IT'S A....... Moments. It's one of the best game to series adaptations, up there with the last of us series.
At 29:45 another one of my favorite UA-camrs said "We had a character with two legs and a dog. Now most of that is gone". lol... I had to share. One of the funniest things I've ever heard. This will be fun. I'm a big fan of the whole franchise. Hundreds of hours in game and I really enjoyed the show. I hope you do too.
I'm glad to see you're hooked! I've played Fallout 3, Fallout 4 (my favorite), and Fallout: New Vegas. There are TONS of things from the games that show up in this series . . .
Its the column of the mushroom cloud not the base level explosion with the thumb thing I believe. In episode 2, Titus is fighting a yao guai, a mutated bear.
Even for those of us who have played any of the various games, we were instantly invested. Great reaction. Looking forward to your remaining reactions to episodes 3-8.
One thing everyone seems to overlook it how good that child actress who played Janey was. Her reaction and expressions when the bomb dropped was heartbreaking.
In game terms, Cooper The Ghoul has a Bloody Mess perk which lets him do more damage and tends to explode corpses that he just killed. Lucy has a very high Luck stat (she survived her first day on the surface and found the one thing that everyone in California seems to be looking for) but has a lousy Speech stat. I watched a lot of reactions to the first episode and Addie is the only one who suggested that Lucy stab Monty a few more times to make sure. :)
Addie- just so you know, the plot of the show in different than the games. The show is considered canon along with the games- having played the games before would have only meant you would recognize major groups like vault tek, the brotherhood of steel, many of the items, etc. Lucy, Maximus, and the ghoul are all new characters.
This is super fun to watch your reaction knowing that you're basically completely blind to the games! Even fans of the games didn't know what to expect because each one is a different protagonist's story. They all have common themes and world, but each game is about different people. So it's such a cool universe for a show like this. Across the many years of games, from way back in the 90's I think they absolutely nailed it!
There's a perk in the game you can have called The Bloody Mess perk. Basically, everyone you kill explodes. I feel like everyone in this series has that perk enabled.
The thing in the cave is called a Yao Guai. They mutated from bears. They're also way harder to kill that just shooting it in the eye lol. As Three Dog would say, 'Don't feed the Yao Guai'"
I've heard some suggest that the three main characters are based on different play styles for the games: Lucy is the new player who tries to be good and clean cut and takes the most conventionally good choices Maximus is more seasoned and open to making more morally grey choices The Ghoul has seen it all and likes to just go nuts and raise hell to achieve his goals Come to think of it, I think you could find mindsets like this in visitors to Westworld as well, that Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy also co-created
Also, in the timeline of Fallout. The show takes place after all of the games. Game - Year it’s set in. Fallout 76 - 2102-2104 Fallout - 2161 Fallout 2 - 2241 Fallout 3 - 2277 Fallout New Vegas - 2281 Fallout 4 - 2287 Fallout TV show - 2296-2297 Even us that know the games don’t know what to expect from the story of the TV show.
@@Debrutsideno it tells us the next game in the series is most certainly gonna take place after the tv most likely in the 2300's. would see m to make sense , place te show between the last game and the next , possibly feature some characters from the show in the net game. though hoenstly the next game should move locations imo , but never know.
so game lore and show lore, the bombs that dropped weren't the strongest nukes. they were designed to be dirty bombs. that's why all those people in the opening scene had time to run, its bc the danger of those bombs was the fallout that contaminated everything not the initial blast and shock wave.
FYI, The series has its own, original story. It's in the same universe as the games, so the story events of the games have happened here as well, but the series has its own stuff story - wise.
So glad you're already loving Fallout. This is going to be fun! Beware of spoilers in these comments. The show will explain things you need to know. Some commenters will explain things before the show has -- or might in future episodes. We don't know where the show will go from here. Almost anything could be a spoiler. 😁👍
I never played this game but I have always been somewhat fascinated by some of the ways it appeared to portray things. In particular I always find the expression of idealized American culture (back in the 1950's where supposedly everyone had a suburban home with a white picket fence and a stay at home mom) really interesting, and how in modern media it is used in a more satirical fashion. For example I think we saw a similar thing in one of the Marvel "What If...?" episodes where the Black Widow agents show up, and this idealized representation of America actually turns out to be sinister. The opening to this series with the birthday party under the fears of a nuclear war has some fantastic acting. Walton Goggins is a mostly-overlooked treasure and I am so glad he got a lot of recognition for this show. Can't wait to see more of Addie's reaction to this show!
I played Fallout 1 & 2 when they came out and I absolutely loved them. I still play them to this day, so I suppose I'm in the category as a fanboy. I think Lucy is absolutely nailing it and I had a blast watching the first season of this. You should try the games one day, Addie! Have fun on the rest of this season!
8:00 You know, I've never been in a fight to the death. I sure hope I never will be, but I agree, after something like what Lucy went through, you make sure he's dead.
Welcome to 2077 and its alternate timeline. Lucy is basically the new player in the game sense, and you will notice throughout the show her Okey-Dokey changes tone. This show was so good it made me download Fallout 3 to play.
Just a heads up - this series is a completely original story with characters that haven’t been seen in the games. Chronologically, it takes place after Fallout 4, the most recent game in the series. Also, each game is it’s own self-contained story that takes place somewhere in the US, meaning that there are no direct sequels. There’s lore to the world, but you don’t have to worry about not understanding a continuous story, which is never the case.
Glad you're watching this show! As a fan of the series, I was just hoping they didn't butcher the show & tried to do the franchise justice. I did not expect it would be as good as it is & that everyone, fans & non-fans, would enjoy it this much! Enjoy the ride, Addie!
Seriously, I'd never even played the games, but the trailer hooked me hard even just as a new piece of sci-fi media, and although I haven't finished the series yet (watching it with my brother a few eps at a time) I haven't been this impressed by a new TV show since the first series of _Game of Thrones._ I hope _Fallout_ is with us for the long haul
It is fun watching the Fallout world through fresh eyes. Like, you noticed the brain and the dog at the beginning of episode two. In one game you can befriend a dog with a brain transplant.
I've never played, but I know some lore: the first scene is on Oct 24 207? (Halloween decorations are visible in a future scene). The president (on the radio he's mentioned as missing) fled to an offshore oil tanker months prior.
The first bombings take place on the U.S. east coast on Sat. morning Oct 23, 2077. Then a little later on the West Coast. And yes there are a lot of Halloween decorations in the game. But most of the TV series takes place in 2296, about 9 years after FO4, and 15 years after FNV. And 19 years after FO3. I forget the dates for FO1, and 02 and 76. Suffice to say this a brand new story for both viewer and gamer alike.

As a fan of the games who loved the show, I'm really glad the algorithm put your video my way.
Seeing a new fan get so invested, and so brilliantly excited was great! Keen to watch you follow this series through.
Let the Fallout journey begin. We're in for a wild ride.
There are TONS of things from the games that show up in this series . . .
FO4 is my fave too. Played it 6 times. FO3 twice, and FNV once. Looking forward to "Fallout: London".
You know it's a good adaptation when when as a fan I hear "I've never played the video games" I get super excited (one of us, one of us...)
Aaaah, you're going to enjoy this series so much! ^_^
This is my favorite show of the past couple years. Perfect mix of bloody mess and very funny.
Twisted metal did it better. And so did Silo. Like way better.
@@WheresWaldo05 Cool, I will have to check those out. I have heard of Silo but Twisted Metal is new to me.
What a great reaction!! You're so excited and it's contagious. lol.. Cant wait to see more!
Parts of the Wasteland were filmed on real locations like that abandoned mining town in Namibia. Sand-filled houses.
The show wonderfully captures the dark humor of the games. They worked with one of the game designers when making the show, so it all fits.
I've heard some suggest that the three main characters are based on different play styles for the games:
Lucy is the new player who tries to be good and clean cut and takes the most conventionally good choices
Maximus is more seasoned and open to making more morally grey choices
The Ghoul has seen it all and likes to just go nuts and raise hell to achieve his goals
Come to think of it, I think you could find mindsets like this in visitors to Westworld as well, that Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy also co-created
So happy you decided to watch this. ❤
Addie said " Maybe you should stab him a few more times!" I am now a little scared of Addie. LOL.
Great Reaction to the best show this year! Thanks from Sweden.
I love how this show has become hit with both fan & non-fans of the games! 😁
Saw this channel because of fallout and subbed real quick. Great reaction love the energy 😊
And now all my favourite reactors are onto this. Good times. ‘You don’t mess with his daughter’ is a bit of a theme for Old Man Kyle.
Welcome to the wasteland! happy to see you embark on this journey!
Just so you know, the tv show is canon with the games. I hope you like it.
Also, in the timeline of Fallout. The show takes place after all of the games.
Game - Year it’s set in.
Fallout 76 - 2102-2104
Fallout - 2161
Fallout 2 - 2241
Fallout 3 - 2277
Fallout New Vegas - 2281
Fallout 4 - 2287
Fallout TV show - 2296-2297
Even us that know the games don’t know what to expect from the story of the TV show.
Honestly one of the best shows I've seen in a long time and your reactions as always are priceless, can't wait for the rest of the series
Looks like someone did not watch Silo or Squid game.
Holy moly this is gonna be a fun watch
I loved this reaction so much I had to go join the Patreon :D Thanks Addie, cant wait to watch the rest of the show with you!
NGL, I kinda wanted the Overseer to say, "The spice must flow." when he locked Lucy in the closet.
Had a blast watching this!!🔥🔥🖤
FYI, The series has its own, original story. It's in the same universe as the games, so the story events of the games have happened here as well, but the series has its own stuff story - wise.
This show and lore is going to be a wild ride lol
I am so excited to join you on this one!
Love how you're so invested in the show, especially with the gore...it's a lot lol
You're in for a roller coaster of a show. Wild
33:22 That is called a Ripper and it’s used as a weapon in the games.
Addie, I think you'd fit well in a vault. Except you would probably risk the surface because of a rule they have that you'll learn about later.
So glad you're already loving Fallout. This is going to be fun!
Beware of spoilers in these comments. The show will explain things you need to know. Some commenters will explain things before the show has -- or might in future episodes. We don't know where the show will go from here. Almost anything could be a spoiler.
😁👍
"And Guest Starring Michael Rapaport as Himself"
Better watch Silo, cause it is far superior to this show. Similar-ish premise.
Addie and Fallout?? Yes, please. I expect a few Addie Karate Chops with this show.
8:00 You know, I've never been in a fight to the death. I sure hope I never will be, but I agree, after something like what Lucy went through, you make sure he's dead.
Watching you identify with Lucy so strongly, and then react to all the wild stuff that happens, is cracking me up. 😆
Dad was the captain in How I met your mother. Now he is the captain of the vault.
you must be young because he's been in a hell of a lot more that just How I Met Your Mother
I have known him as Paul maudib
@@dilligafwyt6095 A few years later he would be Special Agent Dale Cooper on Twin Peaks.
He was also Riley’s dad in Inside Out and the bad guy in the live-action Flintstones.
@@reconsoldier135To be fair, the last episode of HIMYM he was in was more than 10 years ago. So they can't be too young
Welcome to 2077 and its alternate timeline. Lucy is basically the new player in the game sense, and you will notice throughout the show her Okey-Dokey changes tone. This show was so good it made me download Fallout 3 to play.
This was a fantastic and enjoyable show. Esp nods and following some lore of the games. It's been greenlight for a 2nd season as well!
Yay! I'm happy as heck you are watching Fallout. Such a great show. And very much the tone of the games.
I have been wanting you to watch this ....cant wait for your thoughts on the rest of the series...
I am hyped to watch Addie react because she definitely reminds me of Lucy
Addie you would rock in a Vault Dweller suit. Grand idea.
25:43 i think thats also a reference to the games
Just so you know, the Brotherhood consists mostly of descendants of the US military while the Enclave are mostly descendants of the US government.
"Isn't it great!?"
This is 100% Jinx lol
😅 you are the BEST at “reactions” I’ve seen (and I’ve seen a lot) 👍🏽
I liked it, but im a old nerd that played 1,2,3,NV and 4
Nothing wrong with that! -A fellow old nerd.
Same ,!
@@magicbrownie1357 well true! but most now know fallout from 3 and on 😀
@@CuddleBuddee 👍 I stille play 2
Count me into the "old nerd" group.
