Somehow, this feels like an _old skool,_ pre-covid BSS video. 🙂 And I love it! Kerbs are great, city skating would be way less fun without them. 🤘
Good point :D
yeah-yeah. It has a pintopony productions vibe😃
I bought new skates a few days ago after like 15 years off them. My goal is to be able to master the city of Stockholm (which fortunately has endless well-groomed bike lanes). I've binge watched your videos and have applied a few of your tips already, and it's coming back to me very quickly! Thanks for all your great content, dry humor and enthusiasm! I hope to be able to skate like you one day :D
this was one of the most intimidating things to do when i was learning. getting on and off curbs
Started city skating about a year ago and it was always so fun to take on the different obstacles. If you can find a sidewalk or trail where roots have pushed up the pavement a bit, you can get some sweet little jumps and bumps. We also have a big hill that goes onto a bridge which is all shut down, so we can bomb it down the hill and coast across the bridge. Tis a blast
Im glad im not the only one who thinks of some rollerblade moves as fire a gun. I think of the Powerstop as a gunfire and a Powerslide as a Martial Arts move. I even move my hands in auch fashion when i slide and my body reponds accordingly 😁
Haha, that lady is completely oblivious to you hopping up & down right in front of of her 😅
Another fantastic video. Many, many thanks from Japan!!!
I have the exact same skate and I am waiting for my endless frame. Can’t wait to give it a try.
Love your videos bill ❤
Very smooth.
Just getting back into rollerblading and this is going to be a channel I come back to
Yes, Bill, the sensation to roll over the cubs is magic. 😎👍
It's not nice to roll over baby bears...

Smooth, yet sharp as ever. Man, those curb-drop powerstops look incredible.
...Power-Drop?
Yeah, I'm calling them power-drops now on.
I do a little bit different: crossover but landing over the foot that did the crossover, it that makes any sense 😂 nice tips, Bill! 👊👊👊
Super helpful!
Any advice on how to handle curbs straight on when it's not possible to move in from the side? Like a crosswalk for instance. Our city has lots of little "islands" in the middle of crosswalks and they're all sized different. I've jumped some and stepped over others but nothing really feels comfortable enough. Maybe I just lack the confidence :D
Great tip!!
cool - i must give this a try^^
yes! A new BSS video. Now don't you love that. CHEERS
Yo . This guy is ikonik 😅😮
Hey Man do you have any videos dedicated to just the power slide stop you do?
Gotta try... I usually do a crossover onto the curb followed by another on the sidewalk... Feels so cool but maybe yours is more effective 🤔
How do you deal with cracks, pebbles? I’ve learned to stay balance and on the first days my skates got caught a few times. I didn’t fall but I felt I was going to.
I’m skating inline 4 but I’m planning to get the powerslide evo pro 3 wheels, I’m I making a mistake?
❤️🔥
Bill how do you erase the selfie stick and camera from your videos??!
@billstoppard whats better for city skating? crossfire + endless vs twister + endless?
Nice. Curbs are also an effective way to take advantage over bikers. Unless they can jump a little, too.
Is this possible to go down like that with a heel brake?
So, your right foot would be raised up just a little, like you are about to step off the curb, but the left foot is the one actually rolling the curb. So it’s like a 1 footed roll off with the right foot simultaneously stepping. Then you just roll off it & land on both feet together. It’s a very subtle step with the right foot, the left foot stays with the right foot & lands in the street. I did it when an angry dog came at me. & said, “holy hell, I can roll a curb with a brake” it just kind of came natural. Wear padding as you navigate this! Don’t listen to anyone that tries to convince you to take off your brake if your comfortable with it. I’ve been skating for 40 years & the brake has saved my wheels from wearing down too much & it stops me quickly when something unexpected happens & hills!
Hey Bill when next Toronto Roll date and location please I messed May event 😢
I'm not sure if you're 3 leagues above me or in a league of your own! 😃🤭
Do you have some tips for beginner or intermediate skater how to master the ceramic tiles near passenger crossings for people with impaired vision?
There are these "Lego"-bricks and the bars. Most horrifying for me are the bars when they are transversal. 😵💫🤦♂️
well bent knees and scissor position. that's all that you have to do and can do with them. or simply jump away🙂
Turn your skates as you hit them to try and get the wheel in between the nubs. There's usually a diagonal you can go through.
Hey Bill! What skates are those?
Been advocateN for t/ sport all month
t/ People seem hopeful
Lets see if they have t/ guts to
Go all in 😆
I'd pay good money to see how dangerous this could go wrong if you one miscalculates the heigh of the lead foot or if the trailing foot clips the curb with too much power
Sorry dude, you’ll be waiting a very long time. It’s the safest mount there is.
街中の障害物をスムーズに滑り抜けて超クールですね!
For mweyou are still No.#1!!!
I cannot understand one thing. You move pretty aggressive on your skates but why you don't wear a freakin' helmet??
he is Craig Mactavish of inline skating
he has a contract with his hairdresser
@@NikZvi a good one 🤣
