My favorite level on all Dooms. I just love it. The enemies placement are the most devilish and the level design was really bizarre, the decorations were just right on the horror theme.
I wish the ending was tweaked. The Jaguar version replaces the switch puzzle with a more standard enemy encounter, which I prefer to the room that just wastes two keys on an unnecessary puzzle.
Por eso, y por el hecho que en varias partes había que pasar por pisos de sangre dañinos por lo que había que perder vida para avanzar en varias partes.

Your commentary is spot on, lol. By the way I love this map. The satanic/hell like design (or: decoration :p ), the quietness followed by sudden enemies, not overdone complex, the music. And when you switch to the map, it looks like a guy (doomguy?) standing on top of some kind of creature with claws, laying down.
The switch in the cacodemon room that opens the locked door behind you is because if you didn't know there was a cacodemon there, like me when I opened it for the first time, you get surprised and try to back up, then you're trapped and get blasted. Thanks for all these walkthroughs man, its been a blast playing along side you. Im not sure I would have been motivated to play through both original games completely if it wasnt for your videos and walkthroughs so thanks man!
I had enjoyed the window's view too ! I'm actualy going through this game thanks to you. I had the idea to post a comment on the final level but... neh... can't wait. You did a good job here, and thank you again for that.
I have never been sure what each of those 2 pillars of 4 switches do and always just jabbed at them randomly. That's why I like your videos. You provide clear explanations for things like that.
Thanks for these videos I really enjoyed them. As a child growing up I couldn't play this game. I was thinking about it the other day and well found it on my iPhone. Played whole thing. Was super fun.
Actually, in my run, I always thought that invulnerability was for the intent of getting in that Baron's face at the end of the hall. At least that's how I used it for.
Where you say "I think the decorations behind this are FABULOUS!" no lie, when I was a kid and doom was all new and mysterious, maybe around 1995.... I would sit in that spot and look at the environment through that window and just listen to the music and contemplate hell. There were a few spots I would do that. It's always been more about environment and music for me in games.

omfg. That's ANOTHER time I've skipped ahead on been crushed by a ceiling AGAIN. You don't even need to be under those ceilings for them to crush you, they crush you even near the far wall...... :( sad face.
***** Yeah it does! I kept dying on that level with the red and yellow key things both together, where you have to goad the cacodemons. The one with a teleporter that takes you to different locals each angle you approach it from, in e4. My GOSH that level bugged me. I'm really good at Doom but sometimes you just hit a wall and get FULL ON STUCK in the mud, like a stick.
Thank you so much for your walk throughs they've helped me so much! But if you really want a challenge try playing doom on you tablet! With the types of controls dodging enemy fire is a whole different animal!
The point of that switch only door is to lock you in with the Caco if you're not expecting it. Also, does anyone know why in vanilla Doom, the left crusher switch will sometimes refuse to work?
Ghost7856 I found that the best way to do that section is to go in straight and flip the switch and then back out straight away. That way you don't get trapped in there with the Cacodemon. Then you can just pick him off from a distance a little at a time with a shotgun or your weapon of choice.
I kind of like the pretty shades of green they chose for the marble. It's like hellish marble or something! Also love the blood rivers and intestine floors filled with explosive barrels! It really gives you the atmosphere that, yeah, you're really are in hell!
Awesome walkthrough. This is my first time seeing the PC version of this level, as I have the PlayStation version of Ultimate Doom and not the PC one. The PlayStation version is definitely creepier, but man, the PC version has a much more complicated map.
Yeah. The music in the PlayStation version is so much creepier. It's also amazing how the darker lighting makes the levels a lot scarier. (The dark maze in E1M4 is just terrifying.) With that being said, the music and lighting in the PC version are awesome, also. The PC version also runs smoother than the PlayStation one, in my opinion.
LOL at your funny comments, especially this: "Hello, everybody. Goodbye, everybody." *blasts the BFG at most enemies while invisible* Also, I forgot to tell you that the BFG 9000 is also the one you get in Super Columbine Massacre RPG. This is pretty weird for the House of Pain. And there's Sign of Evil again. You gotta love that music. Oh, and a bit of an F-bomb there, but otherwise, nice video! :)
Did you know that for 16 years i always tout that on 6.36 it was required after opening the blue door, to first get the door on the left first to grab a key before getting to the door straight, however now i discovered that you can just skip that left door and go straigth to that other door, (wich is somewhat disappointing because if would,ve make it otherwise more intence, they could or should,ve added a green card for that purpose instead ) because in the jaguare version you must go to the left door first to get a red card before taking the door straigth, however in the jaguar version many parts of that level were absent so that’s that. But apart from these minnor complains, great walktrough.
Is this the only Doom 1 level that has rooms where you can get perma-stuck? You can get stuck after the crushers if you don't go through to the end section, and then in the end section, you can get stuck in the little closet with the baron to the left of the closet with the items inside. You can open that closet door with the switch behind the baron and get out, but if you go back in there and let the door close again, it's reload time. :D
No problem, you deserve it! by the way, are you going to be finishing up the return to castle wolfenstein missions anytime soon? i love your commentary, so i don't bother watching any other walkthoughs 'till yours are out, \m/

I ask this because in the snes version, if you hit those switched from right to left or whether wrong order, then you will only lift up the left or the richt platform from those crushers but not both, yes i know it’s weird but interesting.

I save the invicibility for the first Baron surrounded by the lost souls and punch him out and the rest of the lost souls just in time for it to ware off.
I've been watching a couple of these guide vids, and I've noticed that you do a lot of punching. Those punches are so effective, that not even Cacodemons stand a chance! But im playing the xbla version of Doom, and my punches are nowhere near as effective. For a second there I thought I had made a mistake by overlooking Doom guy's fists, because I couldve sworn that they werent very good, but yeah, I was right all along. On the xbla version of Doom, fists are pretty weak. As it shouldve be I suppose. Just a chalk it up to differences in the ports of Doom.
I've not played the XBLA version of Doom, though that sounds really odd. Did you make sure to grab the Berserk Pack in these maps? They make your fists four times as powerful.
Yeah, I had Berserk, but im not too sure about the fists anymore. After I left the comment, I tested out the fists again, and suddenly I was dropping demons more reliably, so Idk. In any case, I beat the game, and got all the achievements. I always intended on getting those, and finally here I am years later. Anyways, I didnt watch your entire guide, but some of your vids did helped, so thanks for that. I might go on to Doom 2 next, and if I do, I'll be sure to check out your guides again.

I certainly find this map very intriguing. I have done quite alot with this map by doing after killing all enemies I usually take all 200% Health & Armor with me to the next map that I like doing. Using Invun is always fun cause of punch-ing out enemies before it runs out and I was really satisfied. 😁Not much to say so overall I do like this map.
I don't understand why some things are different for me in my playthrough. I know that enemies move around, so different positions aren't strange but enemies can hit me between my punches and I'm not able to one shot a baron with the BFG. They rather need 2-3 shots from it. Are there any differences between Ultimate Doom and Doom 3 BFG Edition on Steam?
@@BigMacDavis After failing to hit some cacodemons with my rockets at one point in E3M6 because they either disappeared into nothingness or hit an invisible wall while it was possible for you, I agree with you. You got to make sure you grab the berserk pack. It makes your fist so much stronger. Each punch does a random amount of damage so sometimes it's just lucky.
