Hi there, nice video! A thing that you did not present in the video is the possibility to activate check control. This option allows the GID to show if a particular light is burnt and what is the position of it on the car. (i.e. front lights, brake light, position lights). This is nicer than the INSP message on the IPC. Keep up the good work!
Hi. What if I do not have the cd30 as I use a touch screen there? Will it work fine? Also can you change between menus in the gid?

Hello, I want to upgrade my cd30mp3 with a cd30mp3 with aux and I was wandering if you can help me.
Do I need to change my screen too cause the one that I have now doesn't have the option to change from fm to aux.
Also does my car need to have some special wiring already on so I can use the aux?

Nice one mate. Funny you did this vid because I was thinking about doing this but decided to get a 7" touchscreen double din radio/satnav ( bidding on one now!) Your video has given me a clue to route the cable for the GPS to the top of the dash!
Sweet im glad it helped, tbh there is plenty of space once you remove the radio and that plastic vent pieces.
My car has the CD30 MP3 In with the Aux already there but has the small screen. Can you get more info on the screen other than fuel consumption?
You can get a timer, fuel consumption, climtate control if ur car has it and trip information. So not a massive amount really.
Soggy - Alan Dawson the only issue I’ve ran into in the corsa e was the steering wheel controlls (SWC) and the harness. Converting the Vauxhall’s harness to an iso harness involved a bit of butchering. I’ll probably refit it at a later date but for now it sits hiding away.
You have to butcher a little to get anywhere.
Tom, I have an omega B and I installed a GID screen. doesnt work with my radio at all. Can I reprogram it to accept a CCRT radio ( with cancel button) or install a separate cancel button?

Hi Tom, thanks for video. i have opel ciorsa D 2007/1, and in Slovakia there is only CD30 mp3 with 2 buttons -setting and sound -we don't have BC and OK button there- will it work with it? or if I buy CD30mp3 like you have- will it work in my opel?

I have the CD30 MP3 with big screen GID and small dial screen with the BC and OK buttons. My issue is my display only show two tabs, radio and phone. I want it to show radio, phone AND car (range, mpg etc).
The BC (Board Computer) only shows the timer if I select return or main it just goes back to the two tabs.
How can I change this?
Can I simply program code index 002 with my opcom and that will bring up the third tab?

Hi. I’ve just purchased the display with the radio second hand from eBay for £40 and I’m waiting for it to arrive. I already have the AUX socket as I’ve got a 2010 Corsa D so I don’t think I’ll have any issues putting it all together. I searched for this opcom device you used and have seen many different ones online. Is it a genuine thing or do they all look the same and will buying any of them do? The ones I’ve seen are around £20 and from China mainly. Please let me know soon I hope you see this. Thanks 😊

Can you access trip computer with steering wheel controls? Right side is for music and left side is for that.
On mine it controls the GID screen, allow you to turn the on board computer on.

I taped the wire to the actual loom so that they would never move.

Mine works mostly fine ( speedo and range work) but the fuel consumption always shows 43.3MPG... doesn't change
If I want to swap out my cd30 to a cd30mp3, do I have to do anything other than install the cd30mp3?
My corsa has an aux already built in (2010 SE) but no option for aux. I haven't opened it up to check where the already installed aux female is connected to yet
IT may have different wiring for the rear speakers i realised i had that problem when i changed them round. But other than run the aux to the adapter if its not already nope
Hi tom, how did you manage to get the aux wire in the harness without it falling out?
2 years later you have probably know why, there is pins you need to have on the wires coming fron in aux jack. In the same boat just can't figure wich ones out. Do you know wich ones?
Hello, I know this is an old video but, is there anything you need to look for installing the GID or will it work in any corsa D, will just installing it and programming it activate those features? Also, does the GID and the CD30 need to be disconnected to the previous car?
You need to get the paired gid to the radio as a pair, then you know they will work proper and you wont have any issues. And yeah it should be plug and play.
Can I hook up a aux cable to a corsa that didn't come with one. It's got the inputs behind the cd30 connector. Will it needs activating if I just stuck a cable in.
So the radio has to have the ability to change source. If not then it isn't possible.

Serious question: Is the GID-Display any useful? I mean, I can display BC-Informations in my instrument display on my 2014 Corsa D. I don't get whats the deal with the GID-Display?
I like it really but I guess if you arent interested in the fuel consumption on the gid screen then no.
Hi, to programme the screen to have the fuel consumption in op com, do you need to have the car pass codes for the engine or not?
You do indeed need the security code on the Vauxhall car pass. I had to bite the bullet myself and buy it!

Hello Tom my car already had a gid screen but I now have a touch screen in place of the cd30 and I've bought an opcom but I don't have all the options you do when programming as I wanted to activate the mpg screen, your help would be appreciated
Yeah so I think you should be able to get the information by changing the code index like I did in the video. Just experiment really.

hi sorry to bother you i've just done the big gid display swap over its all in but my lat part the top hat housing looks diffrent on the single gid do need change the top hat for double top hat housing..thank you
Yeah the single screen and gid uses a different housing.

@@TomsDriveway do you have the part number for the top cover? I ordered one and I realized that there are two different kinds. I got the one that needs the hazard trim to stop at the display. But I have the same as you that continue all the way around. Did you get a cover that fits that one or did you exchange the hazard cover as well?
Hi Tom, can you tell me if the radio and screen were unmaried from the car that you bought or did you have to program them on your Corsa ?
They were both married together as a pair luckily. So didnt have to mess around with that.

Tucked it underneath the radio and out the hole next to the obd port

yes you have to enable board computer on bcm and infotainment menu
What version of op com do you have because I’ve got a 61 plate corsa d 1.2 with the A12xer engine
V1.64 is the version of opcom, vauxcom.

Hey Tom, what about just only adding the aux cable to the radio? Do you know how can I have the aux menu function?
You have to have the aux function in the radio, ie cd 30 mph. Then its literally three wires into the back of the head unit connector.
I have the aux head unit, I've connected the 3 pins cable like you've did, but going through the source menu it skips from cd/radio/am/fm but no aux...
finally working, I had to plug and unplug a couple of times and on/off radio also.

@@charlies916 I bought the cable for Opel and didn't change the pin configuration for the socket. Sold the car and bought a C5 2006, also blaupunkt stereo, where I had to re-arrange the pins, but for you, if you buy the opel-corsa aux-jack cable, it should come with pins pre-installed-pre-arranged. for me it worked when I switched between radio and cd, it self locked to aux. good luck

Question: I see that you have this opcom (or whatever clone is it) version 120309a, can you please check if it has the Corsa model of 2011 with engine code A14XER? I want to buy also this tool but I don't know if they support the corsas of this year.

Tom, a stupid question: How are you going to adjust the time in your new screen? Because I see no buttons! Should it be always via opcom? Also, is your new screen somehow functioning with the lower button which is located on the left side of your steering wheel? Because in my case, this button is doing nothing (so i was thinking that maybe with this screen it works). Thanks and keep up the good videos!
@@nmaniacos the time adjusts off the local signal. The buttons should work, unless they arent programmed/wired in opcom. Check in the body if there are any open circuits. It will tell u if u need to add the wire once programmed.
Yeah it supports that engine code.

How do you connect the aux wires to the plug?
You basically crimp on connector pins. I may show it in a video for you as ive installed the center speaker but didnt record it.

No it was linked to the radio so it was just a straight replacement

That means that you need to run the wire to the steering wheel plug, there is an open in the circuit meaning it isnt conmected. Mwans u programmed it prorperly

Was this a divorced gid or does the opcom let you just marry it to a new cd30 without worrying about divorcing it first?
The gid was still linked, however you can divorce using opcom. I remember seeing the feature. Otherwise they just dont work properly

I do not have aux slots at my radio. I do have corsa 2007, radio cd30, but there is no slot for it. It is not even marked at plate on top of the radio

Hey, You can just plug your phone in, turn to aux input on the radio and click play. No need to program it in. But the radio need to have aux input. So CD 30 mp3

Yeah im pretty sure you can so long as you activate it .
