Hi Mods, Welcome back !
This is the definition of a starter mod! Changing the stereo on a car is one of the most desirable and first mods most enthusiasts do to there car. I’m going to talk you through step by step what to do abs what I learnt along the way!
Reviewing the unusual is always better then the mainstream, the Pumpkin head unit is in some cases 1/4 of the price of mainstream units! Time to see if it’s worth taking a chance...

Brilliant video mate, gonna install mines in my Corsa d vxr later on 🍻
Cheers Mate! Do love a VXR! If you want more videos like this, definitley sub to the channel so you don't miss an upload! Got a nice playlist of Corsa content on the channel now too if it takes your fancy!
Cheers mate, spot on little tutorial, this!
Can you share the link to buy the radio??
Cheers mate! Glad you enjoyed the video! 🎉🔥
Also I bought it direct from the auto pumpkin website ! No doubt they have revised it a few times since I purchased
I'd put two brighter white light bulbs behind the heater fan control knobs at the same time as you need the stereo out to replace these.
Fair enough! didn't realize that you had to remove the radio to gain access. In all honesty with the keys it is super easy and simple to remove the stereo as and when that needs doing! Great tip though!
*** IMPORTANT TIP: in order to make it sit flush you MUST remove the old bracket holder that is inside the gap in the dash using a screwdriver to pry it out. Otherwise it does not sit flush and you will break it.***
I didn’t personally find this as I didn’t remove mine and nothing got broken. But thanks ! Definitely something to think about 👌
PLEASE CAN U EXPLAIN THIS BETTER, IM FREAKING THE FUCK OUT
Hi, could you elaborate? I know it's difficult over comments where you can't send pictures but i'm also freaking out. thanks :)
how does it break it ?
Very good video and comments
Thank you!
I hace a similar radio in my Opel Corsa D (UK Vauxhall Corsa in the video)
How you getting on with it? Still going strong 💪
“disconnect the battery as we do not want it to be live” *touches the metal clap while removing it”
Do as I say, not as I do 😂😂
What difference does that make?
@@kite9039 live electricity refers to voltage over 50 volts👍🏻👍🏻
Will any size fit into the corda d without needing a surrounding frame
It would be great if you added the link for the unit
I would do but I believe they have discontinued the unit now, if you check out the auto pumpkin website I’m sure the successor will be on there
These are quite expensive for what they are and pioneer or Sony offer better support and ain't much more expensive,
Having said that I just put one in my wife's Hyundai and I'm impressed so far. Just the 3G Wi-Fi that's crap!
Yes I believe I paid under £200 for this which is similar to sony units but this included all wiring harnesses and facia plates for the install unlike the raw aftermarket unit you would get for the same money.
Definitely worth what you pay for them but if your after amazing sound and extended lifespan I would definitely go OEM or aftermarket (sony, pioneer etc) over these kinds of units.
Can you add the specific model you ordered?
I believe the model has been discontinued for some time now. They have revised versions on there website though if I am not mistaken might be worth checking it out!
why do you have to disconnect the battery??
A couple reasons but first your messing with wiring which is constantly live (as your radio can be turned on regardless of if the ignition is on) and you don’t want to shock yourself, it to arc to a piece of metal or blow a fuse. 2nd I believe these can throw up strange codes when the electrics are messed with without disconnecting the battery
Hope this helps 💪
Wich model îs this screen? Thanks
You’re fit.
How's it been? Seen lots of reviews saying the freeze / break after 3 or 4 months
Mine must be a unicorn as it was still kicking 2 years in! The issue I had was I never got it coded so it’d turn off every 6 months so I had to pull it and allow it to reset fully for a day then reinstall and would get another 6 months 😂😂 probs should have just got it coded haha
Hello ...My car is a 2009 Corsa D... Will it be ready and all I have to do is replace it easily and without any complexity in the wiring... Will the one sold on eBay be installed in the same way... Thank you
man what if you dont disconnect the battery while installation process?
I mean you might blow the fuse in the connector of the head unit or the fuse box or give yourself a shock haha but I think that's about it
Where did u order the double din corsa
I ordered mine direct from Autopumpkin
www.autopumpkin.co.uk/collections/opel-vauxhall-head-unit-with-sat-nav
What size of screen is this ?
I believe it is 7”
will you help me reset the code for my Opel Corsa radio system? for I forgot the code and Opel Company does not have the code either. and the radio system is called Toch & Connect and the car is from 2013
Unfortunately I do not have a code for my radio system! You are best off going back to opel or an engine tuner to try and unlock it/reset the passcode
Hi Dear, can we use the GPS NAV from the same device without connecting to mobile device. I need to upgrade music system and add gps nav system in my vauxall corsa car but i thinking if i can install 1 device only for both functionality.
I would make sure you get one with a gps card if this is the case if not it will need to run off of your mobile data 💪👌 the music/sound system will be an upgrade with almost any aftermarket unit 🔥
i bought the car with radio system and Opel Company even installed the radio system and they do not have the code now and i have to reset it and give new code and my radio system looks like the one you show in the video ..that great help if you write to me that how i can reset it and give new code .thank you
How are you bud, what colour is the power cable?
I have absolutely no idea it came with a harness so it was just plug and play no schematics required 😂😂
Link?
Hi, is disconnecting the battery a necessity? Thanks in advance :)
Nope
It’s most likely not but can’t hurt. Better then connecting or messing around and possibly blowing a fuse for you to then replace 👍💪
How did you fix the radio antenna to the magnetic hole area?
The box I mounted to the side wall isn’t actually the radio antenna but is the GPS antenna and the box itself is magnetic so you just pushed it on👍
is the sound quality better than the basic cd30?
I only really used it for Bluetooth but in comparison between aux on CD30 and the Bluetooth on the head unit it was worlds apart!
what unit is this model number please will it fit in my corsa d on a 14 plate
If you check out auto pumpkins website they will have newer models by now no doubt 💪
io ho l'opel corsa 2011 cortesemente vorrei sapere il prezzo e come potrla comprare grazie
Hello, I have a similar Android stereo but I can't figure out how to turn it off completely. Holding the power button a few seconds turns off the screen but I feel like the thing is still on. Any advice?
I don't think they ever turn off stock or not. The radio always has constant power as even without the ignition you can turn it on. so in all honesty I would say there is no issue! Might be like an Xbox where after turning off the screen it takes a minute to power down in the background?
Hope this helps!
@@NOTaMOD Yeah I figured it out some time ago. You cannot turn it off and it's not because it's not connected correctly (as some others suggested), it's designed like this.
The radio goes in sleep mode when you remove the key from the ignition and you can set a timer for it to completely shut off after like 1/2/3hr and so on (if you're really worried about the battery).
It makes sense because you don't want the radio to restart every time you remove the key from the ignition. Well, I sure don't.
@@Txb4g Fair enough! I wasn't far off then, would never have thought it would have been connected incorrectly as most of these connectors are only one way and are pre pinned. That 100% makes sense that it would just sit in standby to save on restarting constantly when you just out of the car to go to the shops! Glad you got it sorted!
If you liked the video it would be great if you could subscribe! Cheers!
Does the steering wheel buttons still work? And the GPS has voice?
Yea the gps is just an app I downloaded so it’s no different to waze used normally! And mine didn’t but I never attempted to splice the wires to make them work as I had next to no controls on the wheel anyways 👍
has anyone else on here had problems with the canbus?
Yeah I have. It's broke twice on 2 separate headunits.
@AlfieAG27 mine failed 4 times. Had enough Sold it £40
Good video, but please do not buy this item. The headhunt will break after 1 week and the company will not refund you your money.
Awww that sucks! Mine was still working well over a year later! I guess it’s a bit of a roulette…
Do I need to remove the inner steel box which clips the original radio in?
I personally didn’t but others have said it is necessary. If it fits without I wouldn’t worry if it doesn’t remove it.
Does the unit not have radio?
It did have a functioning radio yes! 👍
Will one of these unit fit a 2013 corsa
It will indeed that is the exact Corsa I had but just beware the issues mentioned in the video!
6:42 there are 2 buttons right up from the screen stereo. One is for locking all the doors i know that, but what is the button next to it with the number 2 on it ? SOMEONE PLEASE ANSWER !
It's the front passenger airbag button. If that button is illuminated it's means that the airbags are deactivated and won't inflate if you get in an accident. It also means that you can install a child restraint system.
To activate/deactivate:
Within 15 seconds of switching on the ignition, press the button (for about 2 seconds). You'll hear a confirmation buzzer
Activate/deactivate only when the vehicle is stationary with the ignition off. Starting the engine terminates the setting change
I got this info from the owner's manual
@@monskii5296 Appreciate for the answer!
Above is correct! It’s the passenger airbag. Hold for 10 seconds turns the airbag off (it illuminates) and hold for another 10 to turn the airbag back on (not illuminated)
Can you install Spotify on it?
Yes! I hotspot from my phone and have android marketplace so can download almost all apps !
The cables where to find them pal
Hello hello, all the cables used in this video came in the kit provided by Autopumpkin! I did not have to source any individual cables.
Do you "have", to disconnet the battery, to do this?
You most likely don't have.. to but it is most definitely preferable as the radio sees constant power even if the ignition is off.
Does the display that show mpg and speed still work and steering wheel controls ?
The main display on the dash board still works yes, I think for the pumpkin unit to do this you’d need to plug it into the OBD port (that’s directly under the head unit). In terms of steering controls the volume was the only one that ever worked previously! So I can’t really speak for it, it does come with a harness to implement it though !
Does it drain battery overnight@@NOTaMOD
Does it have apple play
No I’m not sure if the newer models do but this just has Bluetooth! So most things it works but no apps haha
Where can I can get that screen from
I wish I'd ever bought mine Buy a Kenwood
I bought it direct from pumpkin
@@sonnyday6210 why? what’s wrong with it??
@@sabirsdevv6806 stopped working after 2 months. Sounds crap apps stopped installing.
Does it link up perfectly with the screen above like the stock stereo?
No! The screen above just showed the date for the entire time installed regardless of what was on the touchscreen 👍
How do you link it is there a way?
@@NOTaMODis there a way to link it
I do not believe so, and if there way I never looked into it as it did not bother me! sorry I can't be much help
Hi, how do you get the GPS / sat nav maps on the sd card ?
park infront of your house with good signal to your router and download offline maps on google maps app. this is what i had to do. SD cards over 16gb i think arnt supported (for storing music on) this is what i discovered after filling a 128gb micro sd card with music ahahahaha. was gutted so still using btooth music app
I can’t lie I complained to autopumpkin and they sent me one for free with the maps pre installed so I have no idea! Sorry I can’t be more help bud 👍
Can I install in my cosra d 2012 ?
I would think so minds only a 2013! Do you have a cd30 stereo?
Yeah
Hi there, just bought a new sony stereo, followed what you did but have no power/ not turning on? Any suggestions?
Is the fuse in the back of the radio okay? A 10amp usually.
I am not entirely sure! mine was a plug and play kit, did you get an iso harness to adapt the stock loom to the sony loom? could a miss match of parts be the issue?
i zip tied my cbales together to be tidy and it now seems the stereo wont go in flush. every fucker else who installs these without tidying their cbales up manages to get it in flush first time hahahahaahah. also it doesnt align even 90 percent pushed in.
Ile have a bash tomorrow and do some jiggery mpokery. the unit is great . had to return one to a seller on ebay who did not understand at all that the universal iso adaptor was not what i needed then eneded up buying from pumpkin direct. was 2-3 days time before it got to me and it came with the CORRECT adaptor.
Aww that’s not ideal! What I ended up doing was tucking the long adapter harness down the back left which runs down towards the glove box! And even then it didn’t get full flush but only a couple mm out! Hope this helps !
How many inches was your original radio ?
If you mean overall size I am not sure but the kit brough from them was a plug and play kit! If you are looking for something like a pioneer stereo if you check out auto pumpkin's website, it should say the size of there unit which should give you an idea of what can be installed!
Hope this helps!
ciao ha l'uscita per il subwoofer?
Mi scuso questo è google translate, Sì, lo fa!
Where did you get this from and the model number
I bought it direct from Autopumpkin. I believe it has been discontinued now but they are likely to have brought out a revised version if you check out there website!
My car is a vauxhall agila would this work in my car
What stereo is in you car now? Is it a cd30? When I bought it I remember on there website there was a long list of all the makes and models that it fit! Check out there website for the definitive list. Just search autopumpkin headunit and it should come up
@@NOTaMOD what size of screen is it ??
Could’ve downloaded a radio app on your phone
I did think about that but when I’ve used my phone before (just with headphones) the radio app didn’t work too well so could give it another go with the car though
