There's nothing like a good hand job...someone had to say it! It's good to see an olde worlde motor, that sure is a classic. Interesting vid, thankyou. Good health to yer.
I did just that on my 1996 Peugeot 106 1.1L. As an old and cheap car, I just wanted to to not be embarrassed while driving a paint faded car, and to not overspend on a full correction of a car which has very little resell value. But, the car was neglected for many years, and even I inserted some swirl marks. The paint was dull, with no shine. And this is uninspiring to drive around town - and even to meet some friends. I used all NextZett products, because they are relatively cheap, available in my local parts store (Norauto), and offer pretty good quality. The steps I followed were: 1) Washing Phase, with no contact: - Rinse down the car, to take the greater dust and grime - Spray Snow foam (with the regular NextZett wash soap) - Rinse it down 2) Chemical Decontamination - Sprayed Iron remover (NextZett Colortec) - Rinsed - Sprayed Insect remover - Rinsed - Sprayed Tar remover - Rinsed 3) Washing Phase, with contact: - Washed the car, with the 2 bucket method (with the regular NextZett wash soap) - Rinsed - Dry the entire car with a microfiber towel 4) Physical Decontamination - Clayed the entire car, panel by panel (with the NextZett Clay bar, and the regular NextZett wash soap as a lubricant, all by hand) - Wiped it clean with a microfiber cloth 5) Polish - Polish the entire car, doing a panel at a time (using the NextZett Polish No. 3, which is a mild polisher, using an application pad, all by hand) - Wiped it clean with a microfiber cloth 6) Sealant - Sealed the entire car, doing a panel at a time (using the NextZett Polish No. 4, which is a synthetic sealant, using an application pad, all by hand) - Wiped it clean with a microfiber cloth 7) Plastics and Rubber - Throughout the car, I wiped every plastic and rubber pieces, and used NextZett Plastik reviver, in order to restore the black in those 24 year-old plastics. - Wiped them clean with a microfiber cloth Let it seat, under a roof, until the next day in order to let it cure. On the next day I did the 1) Washing Phase, with no contact, and dried the entire car with a microfiber towel. The end result was excellent - considering it was a neglected car for years, and even I inserted some swirl marks. Only now I am a detail enthusiast! It has been only two months, but the car is in very good shape. I also changed the rim cover - with some GoodYear cheap but good looking ones, which I cover in sealant - and the end result was impressive. Even my girlfriend - which was not happy with the receipt at the local parts shop - liked the end result. Good luck to all enthusiast out there! Cheers from Portugal.

Just beautiful motor I had the 525i auto until few years ago, flawless but sadly couldn't afford to run 3 cars anymore. Used to give mine a damned good seeing to every weekend (with polish!😂). Every time went for petrol some bugger wanted to buy it!

Love your videos Paul, but (and this is not a criticism, more a cry for help 😥😥😥 and is levelled at all UA-cam detailers) I do wish when mentioning and/or using certain products we could be given some kind of reference point. There are now a flipping mind boggling array of products on the market that for many hobbyist detailers like myself has just become TOO damned confusing. For example, the Stjarnagloss spray sealant, which until last week I had never ever heard of, sounds excellent but what exactly is it similar to? I already have a fair few products in my collection and like many people I have my preferred favourite brands so it could be I have a product that is kind of in the same ballpark category already. If not then I'd definitely be up for buying some. I see from a quick Google that it's a water based nano sealant, whatever that is! Is that the same as an SIO2 spray? Is it the same as the Auto Finesse Aqua Coat I already have? I have no clue! At this rate I will end up applying half a dozen probably unnecessary products one on top of the other and making very little difference in the ultimate outcome at all! The whole business of detailing a car has just become too complicated in my opinion and I (and I'm sure I'm not alone on this) am starting to think the whole point of the industry is to invent as many products as possible just to empty punters pockets as fast as possible. There is no doubt that it is a MASSIVELY profitable business to be in, I'm sure the markups are huge, in fact I'm tempted to start another business myself 😁😁 I wish someone would just clear up all the whole detailing product jungle tbh!
