    THANKS FOR THE NEW VIDEO MATE ❤, MAKING ME INTERESTED IN WATERBORNE PAINT 😊

    • @peteshobbies5383

      Hi Lesli, My main system is solvent , so that's what I use most of the time, but sometimes I get a waterbourn, and it's definitely different to spray.
      Once you pick it up, it's OK, but a little disconcerting at first, it's definitely easier as far as reactions go if you're doing part panels, as there is much less solvent to react with the existing paintwork edges.
      The ones I used have all covered well, so you use less, although it's twice the price, also harder to get dry in the cold.
      Cheers, buddy, thank you 👍

    Another great video. In your title for it though, you say Meiji finer force 1.3. In the video you are using the finer core. Just a slip up I’m sure but thought I’d point it out. Love the channel. Keep up the great work

      Hi Mate, is that what I said 🫣🥺, of course, I mean the Finer Core, well spotted mate, I was just testing you 😂, cheers, apologies for that, I can assure you, I do know the difference 👍 😀

    Hi Pete, great video once again mate I always look forward to seeing your next video so thanks for uploading them👌 2 very nice guns there and they both put out a good finish but I wouldn't hesitate to get the Finer Core over the 1500 RP when I borrowed your Finer Core I absolutely loved it as it's a power house for the size of the gun, I was torn between getting my Porphis or the Meiji but as you know I got the Porphis 717 which is a fantastic gun👏💪
    The sata 1500 looks exactly the same as my 100B even the aircap looks the same so I don't know what the differences are between the two, I recon they just painted it blue and gave it a different model number🤔🤷‍♂😂
    I hope to put up another vid later today of the Porphis laying some Upol clear, came out spot on☺👌cheers Pete👍

      Hi John, That was a question someone put to me today. The Finer Core or Porphis PRD717? , that's such a hard question to answer . They are quite different, but both really, really good , cheers mate, I'll keep an eye out for you Instagram post, 👍

      @refinishtechnology2529 Hi Mate, Yes, I have. The gauge is a add on so you can buy it with or without. If I get one, I'll probably lean towards the none digital version. Performance is the same and less to go wrong

    Hello young man, love the Meiji, their Achilles heal seems to be outdoor use. That’s the only time I’ve had an issue with the finish, wind blows a little, they don’t like it. In my shop , beautiful finish. Thanks, have a good one, cheers

      Hi Bryan, I've not used one outside before. Normally, if I do something outside, I use the Devilbiss Tekna Pro Lite and the Pro Lite S as they are very forgiving.
      Maybe it's down to the size. These things are quite small, so that could be why they are upset outside, cheers mate, keep up the good work 👏

    Totally agreed that the Meiji is the better choice. It is well known for its atomization and higher built quality for the price compared to the Sata 1500.

      Hi Ben, Yeah, I think it pretty clear cut, I think I said in the Video, I don't often use my 1500 Sata's, but when I do they always perform really well and I wonder why I don't use them more, spoilt for choice, that's my problem I guess 😁
      Cheers mate 👍

      @@peteshobbies5383 Yeah mate, the Sata 1500 is quite a decent gun, but it is not as popular as other Sata models like its bigger brother 5500.

    Great Review! Quick question Pete? I seen a similar spray gun to that Meji by Luma. The famous spray gun light company, their model is called Exodus, is this the same gun made by Meji you think?

    • @peteshobbies5383
      @peteshobbies5383  5 місяців тому

      Hi Mate, I think I said in the video, but maybe you missed it. The answer is yes, it's exactly the same gun, Meiji made it for Luma , Cheers buddy 👍

    What is the difference between the Meiji Finer Core and the Luma 3 Exodus? I had someone suggest the Luma 3 Exodus at work to me for a first gun on a budget that was still high quality and they have that cool light upgrade option that would be very useful in a shop . Also i was wondering if you know if the Meiji is able to use the Luma light upgrade because im assuming it is the same body style on the gun since they essentially merged comapnies to make it right?

    • @peteshobbies5383

      The Luma 3 Exodus is the Meiji Finer Core. They are the same gun

    • @benjaminvining388
      @benjaminvining388 8 днів тому +1

      @peteshobbies5383 okay that is what I figured, so that means that cool little light that is an option to buy as an upgrade for the Luma 3 Exodus should also fit the Meiji Finer Core.

      @benjaminvining388 Yes, although as long as your lighting is good in your spraying area, I question the need for a light, but that's just me

      @@peteshobbies5383 very true but getting down low with some of these big trucks we've been spraying lately it has crossed my mind but I see what you mean.
      Also another thing that crossed my mind, I heard that the Meiji had a plastic handle,does the Luma also have a plastic handle and how do you feel about that ?
      I know you said that the Meiji was one of the most solid built and well made guns out there. But would worry about a plastic handle possibly breaking or oxidizing and being weakened by solvents when I was cleaning it and over time becoming brittle.

    • @peteshobbies5383
      @peteshobbies5383  3 дні тому

      I have mentioned in my videos of the Meiji that it has a plastic handle, and most of their guns do.
      It's not a problem, and, like most handles, it's easy to replace if you ever broke it, which would only happen if you dropped it and it landed on its handle

    THAT'S GREAT MATE THANKS FOR THE INFORMATION,I JUST WANT TO EXPERIMENT WITH IT,I AM MORE CONSERVATIVE TO COST,I MEAN LIKE WHY PAY TWICE THE PRICE,AND I CAN DO THE SAME THING WITH SOLVENTS,I USE TO PAY TOP PRICE FOR EVERYTHING,EXPENSIVE AUTOMOBILES,EXPENSIVE SHOES AND SUITS,SPORTS GEAR THEN YOU REALIZE,I COULD HAVE BOUGHT ANOTHER VEHICLE JUST WITH THE CLOTHES I WEAR, IHAD TO BE SMARTER IN LIFE AND NOT GO WITH THE NORM.......

    • @peteshobbies5383

      Hi Mate, Not in the UK. It's freely available but maybe some markets it is discounted.
      The price has gone up, around £390 GBP now, I think.
      I got mine, used but hardly used for £460 for the pair a few years ago now. which seems like a bargain these days, especially considering the condition they were in.

    Hi Pete. Would you choose the Meiji Finer Core or the Porphis PRD-717? I want to get a good gun to paint my car. I am a diy guy, but do have some experience. Thank you.

    • @peteshobbies5383
      @peteshobbies5383  5 місяців тому

      Hi Mate, Now that is probably one of the hardest questions to answer that I've been posed 🤔.
      I love them both, but they are quite different. The Meiji is smaller, faster and uses a little less air, the Porphis PRD717 is much better at lower pressures, the Porphis has a split tip so is better for basecoat, and handles clear coats exceptional well.
      The Porphis is cheaper and very well made, not as well made as the Meiji, but nothing is imo, what size compressor do you have?

    • @tubbed68cuda
      @tubbed68cuda 5 місяців тому

      @@peteshobbies5383 The compressor is 3.7 HP, 60 gallon tank, and 11.5 scfm @ 90 psi. Should be plenty of air for either. Just got the MPH-338 from Porphis today and am looking forward to using it. I’m leaning toward the 717, as I probably won’t be making any money painting. Thanks Pete.
