Usually I game on computer. I’ve been discovering streaming games which has allowed me to play on my laptop and even on my iPad with a bluetooth XBox controller connected. Which has allowed me to play pretty much anywhere and on any of my devices.
For me, a gaming monitor is best for FPS games like Valorant or Apex legends, while a bigger TV provides a better experience in open-world cinematic games like Rdr 2 or GOW even if the refresh rate is 60hz
I tried playing Valorant on the TV, and it was incredibly relaxing for a competitive game. The combination of the comfortable couch and the large TV screen created a completely different vibe from Valorant, which is more intense and strategy-focused. I understand that, for competitive games, the best experience is often on a monitor and PC, where precision and quick response are essential. However, when it comes to fully enjoying games like Gran Turismo 7 or Spider-Man, nothing beats the immersion provided by a cozy TV and sofa,
i game on series x and have a 1080p 120hz monitor that i use for COD, Halo, and games like Elden Ring for button response, i play all the sports games 2k, CFB, Madden, etc. on my TV along with single player games
I agree both setups are very nice to use for different game genres but I definitely prefer a monitor for most games hence the graphics and response times are just better.
For me it depends, im not a gamer that plays shooters i just play story driven games so i don't need 120 hz but i do like 4k. If im not too in mood for extreme 11 hours gaming i just lay in my bed playing games casually like doing sides Quest's etc and watch 4k tv, But if its a good day chores are done and i have nothing else to do i lock in for that 11+ hour game sessions on my 1080 p tv at my desk plus its better on posture for my back most days.
I made a setup for my consoles with a 42 inch LG C4 and instead of mounting it I put it on a desk in our bedroom. Been playing games and watching movies here and the experience has been nothing but sweet 👌🏼 having a smaller tv as a monitor is like getting to experience both setup at the same time.
If the game (mainly shooters) supports mouse and keyboard on console, I choose to play that way on the desk with a monitor. It's a shame that most games (Apex, BF and so on) for some reason choose not to support this.
I recently switched from a Tv setup just because i started to work from home and that way i could have everything in one place. The key is to get a good gaming monitor mounted to an arm assuming that you already have a gaming console and a laptop.
I generally only play fps games like CoD or xDefiant with the occasional Injustice 2 or Mortal Kombat 11 session thrown in on my Xbox series s. However, tying up the only tv in my house with the Xbox means nobody else can watch tv. So I made the sacrifice to switch to a monitor setup for my Xbox to allow the tv to be available and I will say the experience feels night and day for me. I feel more zeroed in on my targets in fps games and my wife doesn’t complain about the bloody fatalities on a big screen monitor grossing her out when she walks in while I’m playing mortal kombat.
Currently deciding between the two, which is why I watched. You addressed a lot of what I was thinking about. Playing on a monitor is awesome for focus and immersion, especially with headphones. Yet it doesn't hold a candle to the comfort of kicking back on the couch. Since I like to research strategies and walkthroughs, I like having a laptop or second screen nearby to do research (tablets can also work if there isn't much typing involved). That means, only casual games or games that don't require a lot of thought are the ones that are restricted to the couch. Problem there is if I have both types of games on the same console. I could just get two consoles, but I'm trying to be more minimalist, so buying two of the same console isn't desirable either (even if it's probably unavoidable for what I want) I think what I'm learning here is there will be compromises no matter what I do. EDIT: I forgot to ask - do you have a dedicated office for work stuff, or do you do something else with your laptop? Where does it live when you're not using it?
Was always a TV gamer up until about 4 years ago. Now I love having a nice desk set up. Somewhere to retreat to and make your own... But you can't beat an OLED tv experience for the single player games :D
A dedicated game room is a luxury. Mine's a home office, reading library & then, game room. Could always game on the big TV with a console but I'm a PC snob.
I've a LG C2 in the living room and LG 32GS95UE for my desk set up. PS5 and Series X on the C2 and my new gaming pc on the monitor. I'm contemplating moving everything to the desk. I love my C2, its my TV introduction to the Oled but right now my living room is always a mess because of my toddler, every time I want to relax, I have to spend at least 20 minutes first picking up toys, otherwise it is just pure distraction in front of the TV
Monitor is my choice. High refresh rate, custom pc, keyboard and mouse are goats of gaming, even in offline games (I prefer playing hard difficulty, so I like to be involved and reactive). When I tried to play on TV I always have this feeling that I want to sit closer and to be involved, so I usually sit anyway, so no laying down.
Honestly depends on what I’m playing. I mainly play my docked Switch at my desk because I play a lot of online multiplayer games on it like Mario Kart and Smash Bros. Meanwhile I play my PS5 on my TV because mainly only play single player games on it and watch my 4K Blu Ray movies on the PS5.
I have been spoiled by PC gaming and PC Gaming on a tv is just not there yet (Even with Steam Big Picture Mode). Some Games just don't scale the UI and text well on the TV, I some times find myself standing up or leaning towards the TV to read some stuff on the screen. TV is for the family and that is a big distraction. Gaming on a monitor is personal and is what feels right for me.
If you want to sit back and relax to play any game, a big tv is better. If you want to sit up close then a relatively small tv/monitor is better. It all depends how you want to game. Ive played competitive games on big and small tv's with no issues
I play PC, got rid of my desk and put in a big tv and a couch, been playing PC games with an Xbox controller and really enjoy it. Only problem is controllers are pretty non-competitive on PC, as most players are using the far superior mouse and keyboard; at least as far as FPS games are concerned.
Currently playing Deadspace and Remnant 2 on my xbox TV settup (4k 60hz) and playing The Finals on my pc monitor settup (1440p 240hz) Stoked to see the pc build when it’s done!
I have a 50" 2023/24 Vizio that has a 240Hz mode if it recognizes a PC is plugged in. I rarely ever plug my gaming laptop into it but when I do it's super nice. 4K 120Hz for PS5 is all I need, and I don't notice a delay at all.
Im with you I've got desk setup with monitor 144hz for fps and tv for single player. I have the connection cables from ps5 on my desk and when i want to switch just grab the console and put it there 😊
I'm A PC Gamer, I have a PS5 But that's mostly just a video streaming device now, My PC is connected to a odyssey G8 OLED ultrawide monitor at my desk while also having a fiber optic HDMI To my TV In the same room it's as simple as pressing a single button on my stream deck while using a software called display fusion to switch from my Desk setup with headphones to My TV Setup with speakers (ARC to tv) and pressing the Home button on my controller to turn steam into big picture mode. i use a Flydigi apex 4 pro controller which has INSANELY Good latency to my PC Even when i am sat down all the way back on my couch. first person/competitive games i tend to play keyboard and mouse but when it comes to racing and 3rd person story games TV All the way!
I play on The tv and always have I have never had enough money to get all the fancy monitors and stuff but your gaming setup is so cool and I really want that so it’s inspired me to do the same
I played warzone on 4K tv that support hdmi 2.1 with 120hz but..in fact, it really works only in 1080p. I changed to Alienware 27 monitor 1440p and the game is absolutely another. My gameplay improved so much. To fps games go with monitors…good monitors!!
I would love to have a setup like your living room for gaming, though I'll probably have to settle for a soundbar due to the lack of space. I'm currently using my PC monitor for my Playstation 5 gaming, as I can't afford a good TV yet. If I had a good TV, II would definitely love to game on the couch as I already spend all day sitting on a PC chair for work.
I use both, got a 27 inch Samsung Odessey G7 (2020) 240hz screen on my desktop and a LG CX 65" in my living room. Also a 48 inch LG C3 for my racing sim (mostly GT7).
Working from home ruined desk gaming for me, so for now I'm mainly back playing on a TV. No longer working from home though so my desk is now my desk again, and not my work desk for 40 hours a week, so I might end up playing more at my desk again now!
I like both a TV and monitor for different reasons, as you point out. But for the living room where I am using the space for movies, shows, and gaming, I think I would like to get an OLED display when the time comes to replace my LED TV. But in the spare room where I am usually more gaming-focused, I think I would rather stick with my VA LED display where static images are usually on the same part of the screen for extended periods of time. Especially on PC.
*This is somewhat the situation that i'm currently in. I already have my LG C2 for gaming with my PS5 & OLED Nintendo Switch, but i'm now crafting a dedicated gaming / productivity desk as a side project so that i've got hybrid setup.*
Hope you enjoyed this comparison. Which do you prefer?

For me, a gaming monitor is best for FPS games like Valorant or Apex legends, while a bigger TV provides a better experience in open-world cinematic games like Rdr 2 or GOW even if the refresh rate is 60hz
Love you’re vids keep up the hard work
Thank you.
Been gaming always on TV. Currently PS5 on 65S95C oled with external speakers for sound. So team TV here ...
I agree both setups are very nice to use for different game genres but I definitely prefer a monitor for most games hence the graphics and response times are just better.
For me it depends, im not a gamer that plays shooters i just play story driven games so i don't need 120 hz but i do like 4k.
If im not too in mood for extreme 11 hours gaming i just lay in my bed playing games casually like doing sides Quest's etc and watch 4k tv,
But if its a good day chores are done and i have nothing else to do i lock in for that 11+ hour game sessions on my 1080 p tv at my desk plus its better on posture for my back most days.
I have never play on a monitor but it’s the most amazing feeling coming home after a long day to plop on the couch and play any game on a TV 😂
I prefer TV and a comfy couch because I play mostly story games and I usually play for over 6 hours a day so comfort is my priority.
Man your living space in both locations looks so clean! 👍
Desk for me. For all types of games.
Nice, can't beat a desk setup to get into the zone too.
38s is insane. Also i know for sure this is gonna be a great video
You were FAST. Thanks too, hope you like it.
Both are just fine for me. Your gaming room setup looks awesome!❤❤
Cheers dude 🙌
Oh man, the moniter setup is something from the future. The increased hz, the smoothness is unmatched
I could just get two consoles, but I'm trying to be more minimalist, so buying two of the same console isn't desirable either (even if it's probably unavoidable for what I want)
I think what I'm learning here is there will be compromises no matter what I do.
EDIT: I forgot to ask - do you have a dedicated office for work stuff, or do you do something else with your laptop? Where does it live when you're not using it?
The bookshelf next to the desk is dope! Love the simple design.
Was always a TV gamer up until about 4 years ago. Now I love having a nice desk set up. Somewhere to retreat to and make your own... But you can't beat an OLED tv experience for the single player games :D
I have the same monitor!! Lately have moved all my gaming to the monitor. That way my partner can enjoy the big screen.
Yes that makes a lot of sense too, best of both worlds haha
You saved many peoples 10 minutes tnx
A dedicated game room is a luxury. Mine's a home office, reading library & then, game room. Could always game on the big TV with a console but I'm a PC snob.
Love gaming on the tv with ps5 massive screen and 60fps works wonders
I've a LG C2 in the living room and LG 32GS95UE for my desk set up. PS5 and Series X on the C2 and my new gaming pc on the monitor. I'm contemplating moving everything to the desk. I love my C2, its my TV introduction to the Oled but right now my living room is always a mess because of my toddler, every time I want to relax, I have to spend at least 20 minutes first picking up toys, otherwise it is just pure distraction in front of the TV
I really hope to get my setup looking as clean as yours some day, great work dude!
There are some TVs with extremely low response time (as low as 1 ms). The best out of both worlds.
If you choose a desk gaming, proper gaming chair is critical for long sessions
100% agree. Need that support.
Same for me mate! FPS are better on a gaming monitor & Racing, Action & other on the larger TV 👍🏼
Perfect combo!
I’ve been waiting for a vid for this for a while thanks spawn point
I play PC, got rid of my desk and put in a big tv and a couch, been playing PC games with an Xbox controller and really enjoy it. Only problem is controllers are pretty non-competitive on PC, as most players are using the far superior mouse and keyboard; at least as far as FPS games are concerned.
Currently playing Deadspace and Remnant 2 on my xbox TV settup (4k 60hz) and playing The Finals on my pc monitor settup (1440p 240hz)
Stoked to see the pc build when it’s done!
I have a 50" 2023/24 Vizio that has a 240Hz mode if it recognizes a PC is plugged in. I rarely ever plug my gaming laptop into it but when I do it's super nice. 4K 120Hz for PS5 is all I need, and I don't notice a delay at all.
I always love playing my games on the TV rather than the monitor. I believe it because of the aspect ratio and the style of the game it's on the TV.
Este canal desde el inicio ha tenido una calidad de sonido, video y edición de primera 💪🏾
Im with you
I've got desk setup with monitor 144hz for fps and tv for single player. I have the connection cables from ps5 on my desk and when i want to switch just grab the console and put it there 😊
Great vid! You upgraded from a 27' to a 32' monitor right?! And wow, that center speaker fits so perfectly in your cabinet haha!
I have LG G3 oled with 0 desire to own a monitor but your visuals aesthetic is too good to pass on this video lol
Hi, What was the motor bike game shown in the video 02:40? please.
I think it’s called ride4
I’ve always played with tv, just got a 65’ sky glass tv and it’s a vast improvement to the gameplay from what I had previously on my old tv
I play on The tv and always have I have never had enough money to get all the fancy monitors and stuff but your gaming setup is so cool and I really want that so it’s inspired me to do the same
Bro love the vids
Keep it up
Thank you!
@@SpawnPoiint Your welcome
I played warzone on 4K tv that support hdmi 2.1 with 120hz but..in fact, it really works only in 1080p. I changed to Alienware 27 monitor 1440p and the game is absolutely another. My gameplay improved so much. To fps games go with monitors…good monitors!!
All points are valid
Keep uploading awesome videos like this man❤❤
That GTA in the shadow box is sick.
I choose the tv. I game on a 43 inch 4k tv while using my office chair so I can sit closer for that desk setup like focus.
I use both, got a 27 inch Samsung Odessey G7 (2020) 240hz screen on my desktop and a LG CX 65" in my living room. Also a 48 inch LG C3 for my racing sim (mostly GT7).
first i love the videos spawn poiint keep up the good work
Glad you like them!
Awesome video!!! I can't wait to see your PC build!!!!
Working from home ruined desk gaming for me, so for now I'm mainly back playing on a TV.
No longer working from home though so my desk is now my desk again, and not my work desk for 40 hours a week, so I might end up playing more at my desk again now!
I'll always be a pc, keyboard, and monitor guy, but now that I'm older, games seem like a chore, and I'm seeing the appeal of casual couch gaming.
I loved your channel with the first content I saw.
This video now confirmed it again. ❤
There’s the quality content🔥
