that angel island as the last island idea got me thinking…you know how in the prologue from what we’ve seen knuckles is there and it shows him on the island and then some affect goes across the whole screen. What if whatever that was transported not just knuckles but the whole island…and that’s why the chaos emeralds are there or something. Food for thought.
i have but one thing to say to youtubers who made this video , you guys better watch "fall of sonic team : sega's collapse , chaos , crunch in the early 2000s " which is a very great video that will make appreciate sonic team going through all this time to make sonic frontiers despite mistakes they made in the past
12:28 A Sonic hack-and-slash spinoff? If only someone (me) had already made a video about that a few years ago... Good discussion so far, guys! Love that despite everyone's different feelings on the game's quality, you're all mostly in agreement on the game's core strengths and weaknesses. Makes me feel less insane for having a lot of the same criticisms myself.
If there are stages I want to see in Cyberspace, it's Launch Base or Ice Cap (definetely not going to happen), Jungle Joyride, Kingdom Valley, and maybe Flying Battery.
Got the funniest UA-camr, most entertaining UA-camr, most talented UA-camr & the most efficient UA-camr… and not only that, but we also got Matt, Sam & Jayden in one video!!? 😮💨
For stages to return in Cyberspace. First pretty much anything in Colors, preferably Aquarium Park because it's the best world imo. Colors has like one of of not the best places imo in the series. Everywhere is like so distinct and imaginative I just love it.
24:41 but just the nature of Frontiers (the fact that you can leave a boss fight at any time), you always have that option to pick up rings, cyloop or not.
Frontiers is a lot more frenetic than Unleashed from what we have seen from the combat. It gets you more involved with combat and chaining into attacks into different enemies
The thing about Frontiers is that when you take the elements of the game individually they mostly aren't anything really spectacular, they can even be underwhelming like Cyberspace but it's combination of all those elements together with the open nature of it all that makes it tick. Even if what you're doing isn't technically really anything super interesting in the moment you still end up having a decent time because of the overall structure of the game and how everything works together. That's why I believe the reception from critics so far has been positive, but not overly so. The game to me looks like a rough 7/10 which could go up or down when I actually play the game and see how much enjoyment I get. One big thing I take away from this video and the whole difficulty debate is that some people NEED to have difficulty and restraints pushed on you and be really encouraged to play optimally to have the most fun in a game but I just don't think this applies to everyone. Just take a look at the entire immersive sim genre : you CAN just get through those games shooting everything and that might even be the best easiest most optimal way to get through the game even if the shooting itself is really underwhelming but the entire appeal is that you've got options, even if they aren't optimal. Those games don't push those options because it's for players who inherently like to experiment to go for them. To apply that to Frontiers, when I see that Cyloop thing to get rings I just think "oh I guess I won't use it" and move on. When I see clips of the combat I inherently want to experiment and master it. I don't need to be pushed hard to do that at all.
Matthasnocuts Hey, for part two can you possibly talk about the enemy designs please I want to know your opinions on how the robots look please this was an amazing collaboration and I’m glad you got the opportunity to do it. Have a nice day Stay safe and enjoy life.

I can understand this comment actually because there’s a difference between a good game and a good Sonic game. This is trying to be its own thing while maintaining some identity of the IP but wishing it had Adventure elements is like wishing the new God of War games had a top-down beat ‘em up camera. The things mainly complained about are things Sonic fans are complaining about. For example, IGN, Johnny or anyone else that isn’t a Sonic tuber said nothing about being disappointed about the lack of momentum design. Platforms and grind rails were textured to resemble the islands they're on instead of a universal purple/black texture. 2. Cyberspace had variants of original "cyberverse" themes instead of resembling past levels. A part of the game's issue is the immersion. It often fails to capture the feeling of Sonic exploring a mysterious, abandoned world when half the things you engage with are disconnected from it. Sure, Sonic's world has never felt realistic even with a more detailed artstyle, but there's a level of consistency in seeing the world naturally bend itself to work as Sonic's personal racetrack. On top of this, having a surplus of bite sized stages to run through is a pretty good idea for an open world Sonic game, but having it look like existing zones fans are already tired of, with a heavily clashing artstyle, basically sucks out any charm Cyberspace would otherwise have. Honestly, with the fact that you can cyloop for infinite rings, and with how easy the combat is, I feel like the most enjoyable way to play the game is to ONLY level up speed and nothing else. That way the combat will actually get harder with time.
