    NEVER have a problem finding medication again. I began eating a low carb diet + one meal a day + walk 8 miles every other day = lost 50 lbs, had best blood test results ever and got off 7 meds with the guidance of my doctor.

      Cut out all carbs and sugar 7 weeks ago. Now eat only eggs, lambs liver, sardines, mackerel, ground beef 20%fat, chuck steak (slow cooked), chicken wings/thighs and pork belly. Weight loss 10.4kg, BMI normal, high blood pressure normalised and the above food cost me less than $40 per week.

      @@stevenhull5025 It works…all obesity and most diseases can be cured by eating right. 80% diet, 20% exercises and you can’t exercise away a bad diet

    WOW - this was Great !! I have been watching these young Canadians in the Philippines for awhile now but this is the 1st time I have seen anyone interview them like this. I also found it very interesting that of all the places in the Philippines they have lived or visited, iolo city is their favorite so far, and the budget they strive for is also lower than expected. I am now more excited for my next visit to the Philippines than I was 30 minutes ago!! Thank You

    Great interview. I follow this couple so I’m familiar with their journey. I’m a little hard of hearing so at times it was hard to hear so I prefer the patio interviews so I can focus. Not a big deal but I thought it might be helpful.

    Great interview - I try to watch TPL channel when I can, there's aren't too many vloggers in Iloilo City. It looks like a nice, clean, laid back place with plenty to offer.

    When the wife says time and again how long it takes to get places from Cebu city to other places on Cebu or Mactan Island it always seems crazy since it's hours to go short distances..

    Like many, I’m starting in a condo in Cebu. After that, I plan to give Iloilo a shot. My budget is $3,000, but I can afford more. No clubs for me, just a quiet life…and of course scuba diving.

      Iloilo is nice, and just like 220km to Boracay with the car or hire van or bus. Also the ferry and the airport there goes to absolutely anywhere.
      You can find a expat community there also, and its maybe a bit more relaxed than in other cities there.
      Clubs are far away enough from the condos and flats so it wont disturb you if you are more relaxed.
      Also there is also a motorbike club so for you guys who maybe where member at one in the USA, you can check out the Outsider MC, and drive around the island together :)

    As an old retired senior - I would need my meds. Closer to Manila would likely be necessary ? Is a $1500 SS Check still doable in the Philippines for a frugal single old man ?

    • @VagabondAwake
      @VagabondAwake  9 місяців тому +1

      Cost of living is a very personal thing. You won't really know for sure until you put your feel on the ground and decide where you want to live, eat, shop, and how you will entertain yourself. $1500 would be doable for me, but we are all different.

    • @i-am-your-conscience
      @i-am-your-conscience 7 місяців тому

      What kind of meds? There are some other cities who also have a good medical care.
      Iloilo and Dumaguete has University Hospitals.. Cebu for example Chong Hua Hospital.. And so on.. If its not too special why not.
      And for a frugal single man I see no problems to get along with this money. But of course it depends on how much your meds cost if you have to pay them.

    • @VagabondAwake

      We share budgets so people learn what things cost. Most retirees calculate how to survive after giving up their jobs.
