      Marla Kris hey there. I am a nail tech of 32 years. My specialty was pink and whites. I JUST heard of the dip powder nails and was floored!!!!! I have tried to do a set of p & w on myself and it was a total disaster!!!!!! I wanted, very much, to get back to doing nails, I’ve been out of it for a couple of years do to moving, fixing the wrists and elbows from doing this for SO long day in and day out. So I ordered EVERYTHING I need to get back to it, and when I say everything, I mean all I need for acrylic. I did give in and order some SNS because that’s what almost everyone asked me to give them. Besides doing my nails, I did one set. I’m SO DISCOURAGED, but u made this look SO easy, not to mention, BEAUTIFUL!!!!!! I was just curious about the speed and pressure u r using when it’s time to drill them?????

      Amy Todack hey girl! Thanks so much for watching! And yay for getting back into nails!! Dip is WAY different than anything else as far as application goes so there’s of course going to be a learning curve. I hate hearing that you were discouraged but I can understand why. Absolutely give it another go and report back!!
      As far as the efile, I’m at around 11krpm and pressure is light-medium. The diamond bits are super gently and with the right application you don’t need much filing. If you require some heavy filing, I’d suggest a hand file to contour and the efile to refine.
      Please feel free to email me if you have questions! I’d be happy to help!

      Marla Kris I did try again last night. Cussed up a storm, and put it away. The first time I tried, not enough base, last night, too much base. WTF???🤷🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️ Oh LAWD I have NO patience for this. I have to figure something out cause I have a lot of $$$ in product, and beautiful colors besides pink and white. I guess I’m used to doin them the hard way and my brain is just thinking it’s too easy, and therefore, I can not do it. I can’t even make a cake from a box, from scratch only. I’ll figure it out hopefully. Thank u!!

      Not to take anything away from Marla's dip nails, she did do a great job, But for you Marsha Peckham, to say a licence doesn't mean the person knows what they doing is ridiculous, try getting that smile line with a brush and working the powder and liquid together, and get that smile line, its an art in itself, to be able to and take yrs to master it

    Ok so I’m late to this video but I’ve been desperately searching UA-cam for dip tutorials since my Revel dip order is due today or tomorrow. This has been the BEST tutorial so far. Thank you! It also makes me so sad. Lol Your natural nail is so nice and before this whole stay at home- my nails we’re getting so strong by using the SNS dip powder at my nail spot. I use antibacterial gel and wash my hands all day when I work but my nails have always just been prone to tearing- and I’m starting to think it’s my actual finger shape because it’s mainly my forefinger but who knows I’m far from expert. So right now I’m dealing with awful nails, too short for even dip. I had to order tips as well. Which I’ve never done on my own either. 😱. I wear them extremely short like even shorter than yours after filing. My nail tech is amazing. Any tips on cuticle care. My cuticles literally look like I placed them under a tractor then in a gravel pit. I’m not kidding. The cuticle clipper scares me a little- I have one- but we had incident once when I used it doing pedicure. Lol. Sorry! Extra long and probably TMI but I am desperate for suggestions and tips and help. Thank you again for taking the time to film this. So helpful. Will definitely have it on while I try to do this once this stuff comes in today or tomorrow. @marlakris

      Caterina Brooks hey darlin!! Your poor nails!! Here are some tricks that I’ve found extremely helpful for my nail and cuticle health (keep in mind we’re all different with different body chemistry so this is ONLY what I’ve found helpful)
      1- cuticle oil. I don’t ever cut my cuticle (that’s scary) but I will oil then 3-4 times a day and that helps keep them soft and I feel like it prevents damage. Also, I recently did a little experiment and massaging cuticle oil 3-4 times a day does seem to stimulate nail growth!
      2- no more filing. My nails were getting so thin bc I’d file the sins off and buff them every time I did my nails. Since I’ve stopped completely (never file of buff my naked nails) they’ve been much healthier and stronger.
      I hope that’s helpful - feel free to email me if you need more answers! Marlakrishelp@gmail.com 💜

    So you do a combination of dip and gel? Do you wipe your brush off between nails after the first coat? Do you also have a video on how you remove these? I use to do gel with an LED light all the time but they were so hard to get off. I started doing dip and love them and they aren’t as hard to take off as gel. Thanks for the video. Loved it!

      Lori Maggart I have 2 new removal videos so def check them out! Dip is WAY easier to remove than gel. I just file off the top coat and soak for 5ish min and gone!!

    Hi, I am new to nail dip and your channel (great by the way)! By using a topcoat of gel over the nail dip does it prolong the lifespan of the mani? How long do you cure it for? Do you just use the diamond nail bits (I am talking about a flat surface bit not a brand) for filing? I don't see any bits in your videos that have the sandpaper on them (forgive me if I am wrong). Just a newbie! I have 2 cats!!! 🐈🐈🐈

      Hey darlin! Welcome to the family!! I don’t usually use the sanding bands but that’s totally personal preference. Gel is just more easy to use so I prefer it over dip top. You could also use regular polish top coat! Gel requires an LED/UV lamp. There’s a bunch on amazon! You’ll want one that’s at least 48 watts. If you check out my amazon storefront (link is in description) you’ll find all my favorite products including gels and lamps!

    The gel top coat you use doesn't require a light? The directions for it on amazon say to use a lamp?

    So do you use arcrylic power for nail dipping and for the liquid do you just just normal clear base coat?

    • @MarlaKris
      @MarlaKris  3 роки тому

      The liquid is specific dip powder base. It’s like a resin/glue. I’ve tried using polish base in the past - yeah it doesn’t work AT ALL

    thank you for this video! i heard you mention kids. at what age do you recommend dip for kids?

    • @MarlaKris
      @MarlaKris  Рік тому +1

      This is definitely going to depend on your kiddos. I’ve been doing my daughters nails with dip since they were about 10. My number 1 concern would be are they pickers/biters. You don’t want to risk them damaging the natural nail

      @@MarlaKris ah, that makes sense. my eldest loves having her nails done, but she’s really rough on the playground so regular polish chips so easy.
      shes only 7 though so i guess i worry if dip is “too grown”? lol sounds silly typing it out.
