For us new comers, you didn’t explain why you’re cutting off the figlets. Also, I like how you train your trees to branch off horizontally. Do you have a video explaining and show how you’ve done it?
Thanks for supporting the channel! I got the IC from a guy named Seth. He has a UA-cam channel called OHfigs. If my air layers take, I won’t have cuttings, if not, then I will. I put them on very late.
Beautiful tree. I love the branch training using PVC. Great to see another local fig grower 👍
I got the VDB and Grise from you! Thanks for the support!

The video is called Espalier training. I cut the figlets so all the energy go into building a stronger single trunk.
Wow, I did not know they were that sappy! Looking good, though! All those trees look good!
Hi nice job getting Figo preto to ripen in your zone how did u do it?
Great video, loved the tour, and learning culling. Thanks from a newbie!
Improved Celeste looks great, I will probably cull some figlets on my trees close to ripening as well
whered your improved celeste come from? Got any cuttings for sale?

Love the collection of figs trees. I also live in Elgin IL. I have like 30 trees too.
Ooooooh!!! Anything you loving in our zone!? How long you been in the hobby!!??
@@basementfigs not really lol. I have 4 years but only with Chicago Hardy and last year and this year started with more different variety.
The wire on the black zadar looks like its cutting into the tree. You can use tomato tape (green stretchy tape) instead.
Good looking out! I saw it when I was editing and fixed it.
A few trees that are basically the same.
Great job! Espalier is impressive, what’s your favorite fig?
Best tasting so far has been I-258. I’m impressed with the improved Celeste. The quantity added with taste is a keeper for me.
Good looking trees. You might want to clean those snips between trees so you don’t spread disease. Or just twist those figlets off with your fingers.
Haha I knew someone was gonna call me out on my dirty snips!
Good I live
All the little figlets will not make it because they need 90 days to ripe.
