It's all about the prep. The paint is durable and flexible on it's own but only if the surface has been properly prepped. We suggest using acetone or our Leather Preparer and Deglazer to remove the factory finish leaving a perfect surface for the paint to adhere to. Now of course, just like anything, after time and heavy wear and tear the paint probably won't be perfect forever.
@@AngelusBrand Would you say this is the best method for DIY customization for gloves that are going to be used? I want to add a bit of flair to my training gloves. Totally understand that eventually wear will happen, but want to move forward with the best possible method for lasting customization.
AR Watt Please check my recent UA-cam video out 🎨 I usually do custom shoes, but I took on the task to do boxing gloves 🥊 the gloves were also DBZ themed ⚡️
Im amateur fighter and i also like graffiti. I would like to apply some soft layers on my black gloves with some vibrant sunset type colours. Since it's an abstract desing and i dont mind the wear can i skip the preparation phase? Will the spray paint damage the leather? They are cheap ones but i would like to know if I'm gonna destroy them that way. Thank you for your time.
Yes it will absolutely work well. Just make sure you are taking the proper steps of preparation. Although Leather Preparer and Acetone can both be used for the same purpose, Acetone has much stronger chemicals which can harm or burn leather due. Leather Preparer is a safer alternative which will not harm leather when applying. Ultimately, you can use either or.
really sick, but should have fugured out a way to add some color to balance the left glove with marges blue hair, would have looked more complete imo. or maybe would be sick to have add the Springfield clouds floating in and out (or on top / behind) the letters for depth and also to signify your getting sent to heaven with that KO
You should be able to use them no problem. There is obvious limitation to the color just like any glove. As time goes by it will wear. It may be months or years. We have NFL shoes that stay fine until they literally rip the shoe in half.
How do you do this without acrylic paint? Can this be done with markers? If so, what kind? And would a finish be needed for durability and make it longer lasting?
If I don’t use and airbrush machine will it still have same result. I don’t have an airbrush machine but I’m doing work for a client of mine and he is going to be using them in the ring
Can I use the same materials for a gaming chair ? I want to change the color of the chair It’s pink and I wanted to painted blue so… can I use this method ?
You can try our 802 Spot Remover but other than that it's not likely to remove paint from clothing. angelusdirect.com/products/spot-remover?_pos=3&_sid=31ce32794&_ss=r
You can wipe it off immediately before it drys or if it has already dried then try removing it with 802 Spot Remover, Deglazer or simply paint over it.
That really depends on the preparation. Keep attention to the areas you think would take most of the use and focus on prepping that. You can also lightly sand, that is a super helpful tip.
We do not do the actual customization. We just sell the products to do it yourself. However, you can contact the artists from this video here: instagram.com/jarcustoms/
from looking at those gloves, I'm not so sure those are leather. they look like the cheap model you get at Dick's Sporting Goods, which is a cheap synthetic. the paint may last longer than the gloves. but it's cool to see someone do this with boxing gloves
absolutely cheapo synth everlast gloves. That said, the custom shoe world these paints dominate use blank AF1 and i think those are synth too. Im going to try this on some all white twins bag gloves i have. i have my doubts, but at least the metacarpus should last. could be a fun side hustle!
Unfortunately we don't sell the customs, we just sell the products to do it yourself. Feel free to contact the artist directly. His info is located in the description. Thanks!
Actually there is nothing much to understand. However, simpsons characters are very popular in the custom world and people request how you achieve their colors. Austin is pretty good at doing the character so we thought it would be a great idea to showcase that while helping anyone that is doing a Simpsons concept.
These are just... D'oh-pe! 🔥
💯
😂
Those are sick! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Dope customs! Keep up the good work boy @jarcustoms
My boy is talented, these are 🔥
You guys should make one on headphones like Beats by Dre
So they can look worthy of their price tag?
Skull candy Crushers would be dope
How would you avoid the paint wearing off or peeling off from repeat impact on surface when using the gloves

Very nice 💪🏻
Those are so dope.
Super clean
this is a dope vid!!
NIce Job, but will it last if the gloves are used for training?
Those are great, even though they are backwards. Still very impressive. I would use them
How long does the paint stay and let’s say you use it for the bag would it go away

Do you think this would work on dipped foam sparring gear?
What spray pen and compressor do you use?
Great custom btw
We use the Grex Genesis Airbrush Combo

Insane🔥
Do I need to use a promoter after using the preparer and deglazer, or is it ok to work without the promoter?
You would need the leather preparer first. That takes off the manufacturer finish.
Would this method work the same on a punching bag? Like would the leather preparer and deglazer remove the existing design or would i need acetone?
Yes it will absolutely work well. Just make sure you are taking the proper steps of preparation. Just genius
These are fire
When you apply the stencil do you have to use the heat gun? Or you can use a blow dryer too?
Blow dryer will work just fine. It will just not give as much heat than a heat gun
So I have a question, let's say I want to paint my boxing gloves, could I still use them after I'm done letting them dry??
You should be able to use them no problem. There is obvious limitation to the color just like any glove. As time goes by it will wear. It may be months or years. We have NFL shoes that stay fine until they literally rip the shoe in half.
Would i be able to paint my black gloves to green? Or is black too dark to paint over?
Depending on the green, our pigments are pretty opaque. In most cases you don't need a base color.
Wicked dude
I was working yesterday, Who were they winners by any chance? @Angelus Shoe Polish
How do you do this without acrylic paint? Can this be done with markers? If so, what kind? And would a finish be needed for durability and make it longer lasting?
Poach markers can find them on Amazon for around $20-$40
step 1:be a talented artist
Haha!! practice makes perfect. Always.
If I don’t use and airbrush machine will it still have same result. I don’t have an airbrush machine but I’m doing work for a client of mine and he is going to be using them in the ring
You can! the proof is in the preparation, not how it's applied.
I love these can I buy them?

Can I use the same materials for a gaming chair ? I want to change the color of the chair
It’s pink and I wanted to painted blue so… can I use this method ?
Absolutely. Make sure to follow the same preparation method. We have other videos to follow, including a chair! Check it out on our channel.

Everyone is different but this probably took 4-6 hours.

You're amazing.
Wow, thank you!
😍 could this be done in the punching bag?
Yes! We did that in this video!

Can i apply the finisher with a brush or do i have to spray it on?
Hello, you can apply anyway! With a paintbrush, airbrush, or applicator pad!
Any tips for getting angelus paint of clothes ? I spilt some paint on myself !!
You can try our 802 Spot Remover but other than that it's not likely to remove paint from clothing.
angelusdirect.com/products/spot-remover?_pos=3&_sid=31ce32794&_ss=r
If i'm adding gold paint, should i use matte finisher, or the normal one?
Hey there!
You can use either, but if you want the most pop we would go with Normal Finisher or even glossier with the High Gloss.
@@AngelusBrand okayy thanks!
If you make a mistake when you are free-hand painting, how do you remove the Angelus paint?
You can wipe it off immediately before it drys or if it has already dried then try removing it with 802 Spot Remover, Deglazer or simply paint over it.
@@AngelusBrand Thank you!
I really want to one but I guess since I’m mostly using mine heavily I’m worried it won’t last long.
That really depends on the preparation. Keep attention to the areas you think would take most of the use and focus on prepping that. You can also lightly sand, that is a super helpful tip.
I wonder if they are actually usable, cuz I really want 'em!!!
With the proper preparation, right amount of layers and perfected dry times. Oh they absolutely are!

Won't the paint crack while youre hitting bags, pads etc..??
No, just make sure to prep well with acetone or our Leather Preparer and Deglazer before applying the paint and it should be good to go.
