“Can you swim?” Three simple words that speak volumes about the lack of compassion, of understanding, of decency. What a monstrous reply to people crying out for help.

I am hooked on this youtube channel. These films are leaving me inspired, touched, and concerned. Please continue the work and support of these educational and important films. Thank you for all the heart and efforts to tell so many stories of fellow humans and creatures, and of our world. (Ashland City, TN, USA)

Most of the times we aren't aware of the lives of people on the other side of the world. It's a damn good real descrption of how hard their lives are and how climate change is affecting our world, lives of the people especially tribals. All over the world the tribal lives are endangered. Thanks Patagonia to bring it up. Those people need to be heard, and protected. It said "WE CAN'T RUN AWAY FROM OUR ROOTS, we take them whereever we go." True.

These are the types of videos I want to see millions of views on. It’s so sad that people just look away and ignore the issues or pretend they don’t even exist. We are slowly killing our planet, our home. The only one we have. Collectively. I wish more people cared. 😢

I really hope that we will wake up as humans and start making changes. For the sake of our children, I hope this happens soon before it’s too late. So sad.

I'm sorry to say, it is already too late. Most of the world's climate scientists now use the term IRREVERSIBLE CLIMATE COLLAPSE. ("Climate change" is a fossil fuel industry concocted warm & fuzzy term that was created to replace the more accurate and scary term "global warming".)

Truly a beautiful and emotional film. These people are survivors by genes, culture and family bond.

Great job. I work in the region and funding and supplies are usually what make the projects move slowly.
I feel like this should be updated and added onto now after Typhoon Merdok just took another 100ft of their shoreline and flooded their village and homes. Hopefully the disaster relief funds will kickstart the move for Newtok rather than a rebuild.

I found this a really emotional watch. A truly exceptional piece of filmmaking - thanks for sharing with us, Patagonia. For anyone reading this who's wondering how we got here and what we can do, I can highly recommend the book "The Nutmeg's Curse" by Amitav Ghosh as a very useful accompaniment to this piece.

Such a humbling film. It had me in tears when mum told her daughter she had to leave for a year, and her daughter (devastated that her mum has to go) still asks mum if she was OK. Thanks for another important movie.

Does Tom John have a way of raising money privately? He and his people are so freaking strong! I’m so proud of you guys for fighting the good fight keeping your heads above water and sticking together as a family, as a people! Shoot anyone with a heart can get behind that. Semper Fi brother, how can I help?
Thanks Patagonia for doing it to me again. Love that there is a company out here spending their resources for something good other than profits.

Simply a brilliant piece of filmmaking. I hope it gets the attention and recognition it deserves. Hearing of a billion people to be displaced is certainly tragic, but sadly only registers as a statistic. The story of this single community will resonate so much deeper, and will do more to catalyze change, than any figure or dataset.

They see an opportunity and work ambitiously on it
