I'm learning, so this is something I needed to see for the current keyboard I am looking at. Thanks for this dope informative video dude. I love those key caps.
Heyy, i bought my rk100 from you!! To open up the case is quite annoying as it’s very tight.. Some video tips/suggestions; 1) lightly tap on keys that have stabiliser to know if there’s some rattle 2) says the reason of the mod (clip stab to reduce rattle, foam to mitigate pinging from echoing) Some mod tips/suggestions; 1)change and/or lube stabs (or band aid or holee mod) 2)change and/or lube switches Great video!
Hey! I’ve seen some comments on Reddit that the RK100 is impossible / very difficult to disassemble for mods or repairs. How was your experience like on this?
Sounds great! I love the mods you did to it, makes it sound much more expensive than it is...just waiting on mine to show up. Just a quick question, what desk mat is that?
Just the video I needed for my RK100. I'm planning to mod my keyboard too. Thinking of foaming the case + doing something they call a "tempest mod" aka putting tape underneath the pcb. Do you think it's worth doing when I have the foams already or it's too much?
@@itssamueltan tyvm! my rk100 will arrive next week and was planning to mod it. Should i wait for the warranty to expire(3months warranty) or should mod it right away?
Hi Samuel, after I did all the mods, the indicator lights at the front of the case facing the user are no longer lighting up. Any idea what could be the problem?
Yes, there is software to update firmware, remap keys and adjust the backlight. Go to this link . Look for RK100 driver. For white (monochrome) backlight, select the PID:002A version of the driver. Install on Windows PC. Turn off the power to the keyboard, connect keyboard to PC using the cable, then launch the software.

Hey! I’ve seen some comments on Reddit that the RK100 is impossible / very difficult to disassemble for mods or repairs. How was your experience like on this?
Honestly it's super easy, u just need to remove the switches and plate not hard at all
@@itssamueltan Cool thanks for clarifying! Looking forward to seeing more mods from you in the future
So the link for the keycaps doesn't seem to work for me. Is the site only available in China?
Actually it's just Taobao, will work in any country

Thx!, its a deskmat i bought on taobao
@@itssamueltan Let the search begin! Thank you for the info 😁
May I know where did you get the keycaps?
Can I have the link pls?
It's from taobao umm

@@itssamueltan can share taobao link for the keycaps? Thanks.
What's the brand of that spiral USB C cable? Nice upgrades!
Hey, its called a coiled cable, i got a few from SILKEYKBD & Bubbles Cables on IG
Good job. Love the video 👍
What do you think about the keyboard build quality? Wouldn’t want to mod a keyboard just for it to break in a year
Hmm newer versions have better build quality and RK is considered to be a budget board already, but from experience it can last a long time.
Very nice mod..cheers💯
Thanks!

That would work too, but make sure u use enough layers and not alot of case foam
@@itssamueltan Nice. Thanks for the input. I'll try to do that. Hope it turns out well for me too!😊
@@jungeula goodluckk!
What profile is your keycaps? How thick is you case foam?

I got it from Taobao 🤣 and thanks!
can your mod for white RK100 rgb fit to this keyboard
Yeap
bro this keyboard can be used with other switches like Cherry MX Switch?
For this keyboard its abit tricky because the LEDs are sticking out
would you still recommend this ? or something else similiar to this ? im looking for this exact type of 96% with as much as compact size possible.
I still recommend the RK100, it's now even updated with the 2023 version so it comes with lubes stabs and mods already included
@@itssamueltan Did they rename the updated one as v2? I just dont wanna make mistakes & buy old stocks haha
@@itssamueltan And thank you for fast reply, I honestly appreciate it
@@rayleigh2086 they actually didn't 🥲 so do look for the ones with mods included, should be the newer one
@@rayleigh2086 welcome!
Will the new gateron yellow pro pre-lube switches fit for this keyboard?
Yeah they will, the have the same design
@@itssamueltan thanks for the response, one more question. Can the keyboard use any keycaps?
@@greedyama6120 yes
Do you know the keycap size of this keyboard?
Yeap
@@itssamueltan I wanted to change the keycap but I don't know what the size is
how do your fit the screws through the foam to connect to the case
So thinner foam I just screw it in, but some foam u need to cut the holes for the screw
for the stabilizer, the 60%, TKL, 7U compatible to rk100?
It's 6.25u

oh thanhks. Can you compare for me between RK84 and RK100 ? I'm hesitating between them.
Is it true that not all keycaps are standard?
Yeah the shift and a few keys on the right side are not standard
Wow, sounds amazing and you didn't even lube the switches
Thanks and yeaa other mods help alot

No these are the stock RK Brown
