I have an ek sedan. its also my first car. at first i regretted buying it because it had a lot of flaws. broken axles. small leaking in transmission. ac barely blows cold air. handles like shit because of the broken accelerator cable. I slowly had the broken things repaired. added body kits side skirts and coils. very happy with it, I could have spend the money in buying a used stock civic FD with the cost of the repairs and the car itself but owning this ek gives me more joy. When I park outside my university people takes pictures of it and it makes me so much happy because they appreciate classic cars and the funny thing is this civic is actually my daily car and I haven't had any problems with it ever since

Welcome to project car life. I went to do new sway bar bushings and had to drop the front subframe to gain access to 1 10mm bolt. 3 of 4 came out perfect and the last one snapped from all the rust. I spent days trying to drill out this bolt in a tight overhead space. I put an extractor on the hollow bolt to save my threads and the extractor broke. After hours trying to remove the extractor I decided to try tapping it with my air hammer a couple times. The extractor broke out and so did the tack welds holding the threads in place😂 so now I dropped the subframe all the way out and today I’m cutting out the body to get the threads out so I can extract what’s left of the bolt on my bench tack weld the threads back in and weld the patch back into the body. And this isn’t even unexpected, this has been the last whole year of my project.
It was cool seeing you at the meet it was their first meet ever which they plan on hosting annually so people have time to build out their cars hope to see you again this year when they announce it they plan on making it bigger and better.

I'd be curious to check the condition and part numbers on the injectors and the ecu. I've also seen weird intermittent things happen with Civics and it literally be the jumper connectors that are on the harness in the engine bay. If you look under the intake manifold they look like plugs where options would be installed but they are actually jumper connectors that route everything in the harness. They get corroded and then all sorts of crazy stuff can happen. Your journey with this car is very fun to watch.
Check your spark plugs , and your ignition coils. Easy to replace and will get it running better

caught this video at the craziest time... my 98 accord i think has a bad vtec solenoid and its a little leaky from rear main seal, it would limp/sputter after 3k-4k rpm no vtec and fluctuating gas which i just found out possibly because the iacv is dirty or 02 sensor or air filter needs replacement from lack of maintenance... i changed my oil, added some at-205 solution and changed the solenoid with an amazon one 🫤... it was fine after 2k ish miles now that 1259 p code is back and even with a fresh oil change (again) i get that same code every 60 miles, when i reset it the vtec works until the p code appears again... i feel like im at the end of my rope with this car but i got it for such a good price (500 bucks) over the 5 years and only put like 20k from 150k on there and it's not even at 200k yet... if i payed 3k or more for the car i would've sold it already... i have an rsx 6s mt but im new to driving manual so im preparing for the worst but i really wanna save my honda, major anxiety

Bro the cheapest way to get into a kseries car in my opinion is the 2003-2005 accords. I know they ha e the less desirable k24A4 instead of the k24A2 but in all reality if you arent trying to make 600+ horsies the A4 is plenty beefy around 350

@@jarekmai my gas tank is full of rust, so I just ordered a new one, but I was having the same issue, the car was going on limp mode. I had no power I almost got stranded today, but these Hondas don’t die easily, I clean the injectors, and it’s running smoothly now for now, till it gets clogged up again lol I gotta clean them up like every two weeks or so 🤪 I need to start up loading videos frfr I have a lot of content on my hands with this car😭😅 I won’t ever sell it tho that’s for sure #EKHatchGang
Yo my ek went limp mode a bunch too, It turned out to be a bad fuel relay (located behind the right side of the glove box). I replaced it with a junkyard one and it fixed it super nice. might be helpful

If it’s actually misfiring… check your spark plugs, distributer and your spark plugs wires. Might just mainly spark plug
