i’ve been playing piano for 15 years, i’m not gonna say it makes me want to quit but jesus this dude is a freak and i know he’s not even trying here. it honestly pisses me off a little, we don’t deserve him.
it's not about being perfect - it's more about being free. Just attended a school concert tonight with grades 1-4 - simply delightful. The free spirits and expression is refreshing. At some point, when we are a little older - some of us lose that, and replace it with caution, timidity, etc. Then, we spend the next 40 years trying recapture what has been with us all along. Jacob's fun, style and color is that which reminds one of a "freedom-tucked-away." It's a choice, and a lot of work to be oneself. Btw, simply just enjoy this piece of music!
Most of us are encouraged to become more cautious - when you work for a living, mistakes and free expression don't keep paychecks coming. If we vote for politics that make an easier time for all of us, we have a little more breathing room to work with on free expression. And if we all have an easier time instead of only a few, we all bounce off each other and inspire each other's free expression. It's no coincidence that the late 60s, when the middle class had the most disposable income in the 20th century, is when people experimented with psychedelia, jazz, heavy metal, you name it. If we want a little more free expression and less timidity as adults, maybe we should vote for a nice world we can share, instead of a brutal world we race to be champion of.
European Musicians tend to better prioritize this freedom of musicality in their work rather than perfectionism like they tend to emphasize in American performances
OMG I'M THINKING YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT SINGING, BUT YOU NEEDN'T *THE PIANO* . **puts the video at 0.25 and takes 8 years to learn this run** At least I know it's in E flat? Maybe? I'm not sure anymore. 😬
Correct me if I'm wrong, but eared it out on my piano and it sounds like a run in C major(with a skipped B-flat), but then when it hits the F on the lower neighboring octave, it climbs up two semi-semitones to G, plays an F again to transition to a run in C altered. The last note was a D.
i think it's the way he's constantly moving, slouching, letting himself fall and so on. and maybe it's just me, but i'm not used to people doing that. i mean i know a few people who do, but the majority doesn't. i think that's why to me it looks a little not human if that makes sense, it irritates me (in a beautiful, captivating way, but that's not the point) which is a perfect trait for a villain. ya i put too much effort in this 😘
He has a very wonderful color to his voice. Wish I would have heard it more clearly. I thoroughly enjoyed this fun session though as he was just grooving with the melody and making it his own. AMAZING 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽✨
I literally just keep replaying this. It is so satisfying to hear his voice and his skill with the piano. Jazz can literally be so difficult to do well and even though this is really casual the artistry of it is great.
The way he plays he expresses each note with his whole body and head movement and slows down and picks up at just exactly right pace with a smooth flow! He has confidence in each note he plays hence he makes the best pieces!
Not sure if we deserve him like some people said here, but damn, WE NEEDED HIM!!!! the world needed, at least, one Jacob Collier! Pure energy, pure inspiration!
This is the definition of "Enjoy music ,play and having fun" Yeah. . Unfortunatly For so many people definition of soul should be playing like J.Hendrix, BB King or singing like S.Wonder, D.Hateway, F.Mercury.... But the world changes. This guy deserves. He is unique in its style and brings something new with all his soul and his knowledge with great spirit. Congrats JC.
You don't know, babe When you hold me And kiss me slowly It's the sweetest thing And it don't change If I had it my way You would know that you are You're the coffee that I need in the morning You're my sunshine in the rain when it's pouring Won't you give yourself to me Give it all, oh I just wanna see I just wanna see how beautiful you are You know that I see it I know you're a star Where you go I follow No matter how far If life is a movie Oh you're the best part, oh oh oh You're the best part, oh oh oh Best part It's the sunrise And those brown eyes, yes You're the one that I desire When we wake up And then we make love It makes me feel so nice You're my water when I'm stuck in the desert You're the Tylenol I take when my head hurts You're the sunshine on my life I just wanna see how beautiful you are You know that I see it I know you're a star Where you go I follow No matter how far If life is a movie Then you're the best part, oh oh oh You're the best part, oh oh oh Best part
He is a fucking genius but this song is just morning and coffee and sex and its the one and only magic thats made by Daniel Caesar that can never be real without he himself.
Looking for some other good unique version of this song, Best Part, then I saw this! Can't even imagine how he made those mixes of chords, 'cuz me, myself, couldn't do that haha. Just sharing.
The best part of this is that he's not even trying, he's just casually having fun.
Pun intended?
@@mish0al3liI'm gonna pretend it is intended haha
Music has to be like that, jus for tun
and even cooler is someone out there is analyzing and transcribing this performance
Fariz Adnan you talking about June Lee??
0:32 man, that “if” is satisfyingly low...
Keanu Reeves: No, you’re satisfyingly low!
Well Jacob collier naturally has a lower voice but his range is just everywhere so him doing stuff like this is just possible
* Adee *
I so envy him for that...
It’s just so s m o o t h
@@guntruckfella653 dude it's from F3 to F2..
He’s playing the piano while playing the piano
Correction he’s playing piano while being the piano
I didnt see this coming 😱😱😱
Soprxno -66 now that is the best comment
That shouldnt make as much sense as it does
@@soprxno-6697 I'm not playing the piano. The piano is playing me.
I'm not sure we deserve him...
We definitely don’t
His talent is way closer to a pure genius than any of us imagine...
Hes a fucking virtuoso through and through. We don't deserve him but I'm glad hes here.
This guy of course, we didn’t deserve john😔
The same for Emily Bear, Akiane Kramarik, Bella Devyatkina...

Weird I have the exact opposite reaction, it makes me want to play even more!
I think it's the secret here : he's not trying, it's natural for him.
@@manonearth5759 same, people who are fucking good at piano really motivates me.

its so jazzy in that part he's pure genius
It’s literally a scale
@@koreboredom4302 B-Flat isn't apart of the C scale. Were you trying to say Chromatic scale? He's actually playing the B-flat.
I love this man. But will he ever learn “you know that I see it, I know you’re a star”
I don’t think there is a single recording out there where he gets those words right
@@vigglewiggle5396 hahaha I don’t think he ever will
Re-harmonizing seems like second nature for you, what the HEAVEN on earth this is amazing
I am really intrigued by his rendition, I also feel he would make a really great super villan idk why hahaha.

He's a musical hero ironically
His hair reminds me of that guy from cloudy with a chance of meatballs and that lab coat makes me think of a mad scientist

It's the sunrise
And those brown eyes, yes
You're the one that I desire
When we wake up
And then we make love
It makes me feel so nice
You're my water when I'm stuck in the desert
You're the Tylenol I take when my head hurts
You're the sunshine on my life
I just wanna see how beautiful you are
You know that I see it
I know you're a star
Where you go I follow
No matter how far
If life is a movie
Then you're the best part, oh oh oh
You're the best part, oh oh oh
