    For a fly line friendly floor astro turf/artificial grass is a great option. Light, washable, no tangle issues etc.

      I'm definitely going to look into that - thank you!

    As you may remember I have the same boat and I love it.
    I added some floors to mine. I used 1-1/2" hd foam cut to fit between the ribs and Glued to 1/2" plywood wrapped in outdoor pvc flooring.
    minimal added weight and much more friendly to fly's and fly lines.

    Nice boat! Thanks for the review! That’s gonna have some fish in it! I have a 1947 Alumacraft Ducker (duck hunting) boat. I inherited from my dad. I’ve equipped with trolling motor. Doesn’t leak a drop. I have a nice rigged kayak and of course my go to..belly boat! Always thinking of another way to get to more fish! 😂 Have a great one Dan and Kobey… Fish On!

    Dan, this weekend I'm going away with some old acquaintances from 40 years back. Fly fishing the Guad. I hope to meet you someday when my goat packing travels takes me to the great NW. Excellent videos and instructions. you so remind me of an old pal I went to school with, in Toronto. Thank you, Dan, Dave Alvin Tx.

    Maybe you can cut pvc pipe and glue or pop rivet a piece on the ends of the support brackets and to seal even the tiny areas where your line could get caught can be sealed with silicone.

    I went with a 10ft wooden pram, only 110 lbs, so easy to load on top of the truck if I don't wnt to or can't use a trailer for it. 55lb Minnkota got me out of some wild winds that came up here on the prairies at times with a 14ft V hull, I tend to avoid that heavy wind stuff with the pram, they can handle a lot, but one scene I witnessed with one guy in a 14ft alum john boat spooks me still. He turned head on in the wind, just him and a 9.9 in the back, wind lifted the front of the boat to 45deg+, I thought he was going to flip backwards, he recovered it and got it down, but it was a toiuch and go moment.

    Does the relatively thin guage of the hull concern you at all? I'm looking at this specific boat

    • @FlyFishDan
      @FlyFishDan  Рік тому

      Hello Jimmy! These boats are time tested and made with a high grade aluminum, it's been a great boat so far. I've never felt like something could go wrong or anything could puncture the hull.

    I’m trying to decide on the 10 or 12 footer. Any input? Are you still happy with the boat?

    • @FlyFishDan

      I would recommend the SP12 over the 10. The room is wonderful, with really no extra weight added with the additional length. This is probably one of the most stable boats I’ve ever owned.

    Hello sir namste 🙏
    I am from India. Sir I've just purchased a Weight forwad fly line here not knowing that it has be loop or some kind of sticker to it which indicate the which ending sides to be attached with backing line..
    I am so worried about this issue coz I've watched that if the wrong sides are attached fly fishing will be a nightmare for me.🙂
    So I need an idea how to find out which is the end point & the start point.
    Please 🙏🙏🙏

    • @FlyFishDan
      @FlyFishDan  2 роки тому +1

      Typically - if the line is still on the spool it came with, it's designed to attach directly to your backing from there. The shooting head of the fly line will be thicker that the portion that attaches to your backing. Hope that help!

      @@FlyFishDan yes sir Ive noticed the line is some where thicker & thiner.
      Thank you so much 🙏

    Seems all producing vids on Marlons never mention they are made in China!! There is a reason.

      I think it's all about perspective - I am willing to bet if I surveyed everything you own, more than half would have a made in China sticker...just sayin
