Im from Europe, so i can give you an outside US perspective. Michael Jordan is not the greatest Basketballplayer of all time, he is the GOAT of Professional Sports at all. I traveled a lot in my live and it doesent matter where you are in the world, everybody knows MJ, everybody loves him and everybody wear his shoes. And we talk about a guy who retired 25 years ago. His impact is one of a kind, he conquert the world.

Antonio Daniels really tried to argue that's not easier to score today when the players, coaches, and EVEN THE NBA CONFIRMED it to be true is just ridiculous. Antonio Daniels, JJ Redick, etc. are the individuals calling games now and make excuses for today's players and it's sickening as an NBA fan for more than 3 decades. Dude, you're clearly not watching the same game and he's paid to always speak positively about the players and league instead of providing actual criticism and feedback.

That there is more talent but it’s negated with the rules and more importantly spacing. I mean this is the 80s on steroids, no one remembers Alex English, he scored on majority of fast break possessions like today. When the defense is favored and the offense is scoring that’s when it’s truly impressive. I don’t believe the talent is that much better from 2009, those guys were not given the green light for spacing. No one wants to call it the way it is. It’s the rules and the way it’s played. Shout out to the guys today though they’re all able to score which hasn’t been seen ever. 1-12 they all can score. Really interesting time rn in the nba but at the minimum an asterisk needs to be applied to these records.

Jordan didn't make it to the finals 9 out of his 15 seasons (including getting bounced in the 1st round 2 times and he couldn't even make the playoffs with Washington) but no one holds it against him for some strange reason. Yes Lebron's teams lost 6 times in the finals but he had to WIN to even get there. He's spent almost half of his career in the finals (10 out 21 seasons) that's incredible. I also take Magic over Jordan because he also won more (5 championships out of 9 appearances) for his career; Magic played in 9 finals out of 13 seasons which is absolutely crazy!

Everyone hating…. Like alot of you are trying to make it seem like MJ is clearly better than Lebron and that is simply not true. Yes he won 6 championships and never lost in the finals but that is ultimately a team accomplishment he didn’t win those ring by himself and neither did any other player in the league ever 😂 they both had a lot of great players play with them and any team that has won a Championship had to have a good overall TEAM to win. Also MJ’s teams never had to deal with them constantly getting injured like Lebron has had to deal with. Nor did Jordan ever take a mediocre teams to any postseason success like Lebron did in 2007 and 2018. Lebron is better all around basketball player when you look at their games and there individual and team play objectively. And in my opinion when you do the eye test Lebron does things on the basketball court that MJ just physically never showed us, not saying MJ couldn’t just that he didn’t. And for MJ yes he never failed when the lights were brightest but he never played a team as good as the 2017/2018 golden state warriors so that argument about lebron isn’t valid in deciding which player is better individually. The only knock on Lebron was the 2011 finals and I agree he didn’t show up like he should have and that is something Jordan never did. Jordan did always show up but you can’t take the one series and say that’s the deciding factor in who’s better cause Jordan had his fair share of bad performances in the playoffs before the finals. All and all I say Pick who you want for your Goat 🐐 but I hate when people act like MJ is so much better than everyone that has ever played the game of basketball. There has been a handle full of players that are close to the same level as LeBron and MJ, obviously MJ and Lebron were more dominant but if you look at accolades, individual and team success as well as individual performances it’s closer than people like to portray. Lebron will be my Goat but I can see the argument for Jordan cause it is very close but don’t say that it’s not debatable.

Rob has a point but it's missing context. LeBron was so elite at his peak that he could mask or cover up his teams' deficiencies.
This was best demonstrated during the 07 & 18 Finals runs. He's not able to do what Jokic is doing right now which is control an entire game.
What he can still do is control a quarter or 2, mainly in the 4th & OT which is still very impressive for his age.
To say he doesn't impact winning is a half truth. He can but not the entire game. He needs his teammates more than ever at this point of his career.
The team itself has huge deficiencies that his talent can no longer make up for.
I believe 2018 LeBron (my favorite version of him) would have this team as the #1 or #2 seed in the west.
I really need somebody to explain something to me that has never made sense to me. Every season in the NBA the scoring title is won by whoever AVERAGED the most PPG so every year the best scorer is viewed based on PPG. But somehow at the end of somebody's career all they talk about is TOTAL points when we don't care about total points for every year throughout their career.
The 40 000 points don't mean nothing about the level of performance or the ability or his level of play.
