This excellent video does NOT needany kind of background "music" - it serves no purpose. It is annoying at best and should never be used while narrating. Otherwise, the clear and cleanly spoken narration was one of the best I have heard on UA-cam.

There are also the advantages of FEWER legal hassles in the event of an encounter (you're not so liable for damages as with a gun) It has REACH advantages-- and that reach advantage also gives you a SPEED advantage... (the end of the cane is moving FASTER than your hands and increases power of the strike) , and you can take it ANYWHERE.. NO ammo to carry is there would be with a gun- NO PERMITS to get as with a gun- Makes it EASIER to handle multiple attackers. and one thing you for SURE won't get with a gun- cane is STYLISH!!! (beautiful designs, etc. ) and SO much more.
Agree with your reason #1 - Mobility, #2 - as a non-lethal defensive means, #3 - I can carry a cane everywhere, I can't carry a cop, afford a body guard 24/7, or a sidearm or rifle everywhere for defending myself or my family, #4 - I can allow my grandchildren to handle it and show them how to protect themselves safely without injuring themselves.....well, at least minimize the chances of them hurting themselves.

The one time I was attacked, in an unscheduled training, I had to use hand to use my hand, I had a report in my other hand. Once it registered I was about to "stop" the scenerio. The teaining officers yield "Stop!!!". T.O. asked me some questions after failing to get inside twice. Separate incident- I was reprimanded for going for my thin straight preferred baton when a person drew a knife. I was always trouble why the other guys would go for their g*ns right away. You solved the 21' question. Thank you so much, I was on the right track without knowing it. DAV
I have 2 of your canes, one in each vehicle, for the same reasons you do. I also found out that there isn’t enough room, for two people, to assist a third person that has fallen. With the assistance of the cane, it can be offered to the fallen person, to latch hold of, and will be determined by the fallen person, weather an ambulance should be called, or not. My 92 year old mother thought she was going to sit down on a bench, which wasn’t there, and ended up, sliding down the wall, instead. Two people in their 70’s, will have great difficulty assisting someone on the floor, because of lack of room to reach her at the same time, and could inadvertently injure her, without knowing. Concealed carry cowboys are why I started to carry a cane. I've lost count of how many loudmouths have had their unloaded edc skid across the floor because they couldn't shut up about being hardass and I called them on it. Being underestimated is one of my greatest weapons.

I have made a few walking canes for myself in the past. How can I get one of those cards for my personal cane that I have made. I have never been asked why I have a cane, but that card may come in handy one day.

You can carry a cane anywhere. Airplane, court house, doctor's office, you name it. The thing I don't like about CM canes is they insist on putting their martial arts logo on it. I have found other suitable hardwood canes.
The Cane Masters logo is not automatically added to any cane. Years ago canes were produced differently... we now hand-craft each of our canes here in Florida...
WHERE can I get a MOBILITY card for NOW-- I'd like to have one BEFORE I get the training etc.. I"m on SS and it may be a bit yet before I can get the training. (i've had cane traning in hapkido - my 4th degree black belt is in hapkido, 5th in kenpo, wing chun instructor, jeet kune do instructor- aikido 5th black. -- and most of that is USELESS for me now. I was mashed between two trucks in 99 and have lots of pain- (hence the cane).. and NONE of that stuff is something I'm really ABLE to do much any more.

If you use a cane-- you will NOT accidentally SHOOT THROUGH the attacker and kill an innocent person behind them--- and are NOT as likely as going to jail as with a gun - which is an automatic jail time till the court date. IF some fool is video taping the incident- the cane- in court- LOOKS DEFENSIVE-- the gun is AUToMATICALLY figured as OFFENSIVE and is up to YOU to prove otherwise. YOU do NOT need to conceal it- as with a gun.. and you can EXERCISE with it as a tool.. (kinda tricky to do with a gun!)

Physical infirmities often afflict those under 50 as well... and sometimes there is no obvious visual indicator to a heart of lung problem, or problems with balance.

A cane plus training is the next best to no weapon plus martial arts training.
I don't know if these rights apply in the UK, anything in this country can be called a dangerous weapon.
In lieu you could carry an umbrella that serves as a cane.
