ARTURS IRBE!!!....It wasn't just the Jofa Bucket...It was the re-upholstered pads. The "used to be White but now they are grey and black from puck marks" look has got to be the most Badass look ever. When I see a goalie wearing that you KNOW he has seen a LOT of shots.
As an Oiler fan I have to say the Kidd/Tabaracci era had some of the sharpest Flames masks I have ever seen. Shout out to Roman Turek and Iron Maiden's Eddie.
When I played in High school we had a Native American mascot so I always wanted Jeff Hackett’s head dress mask with my school colors orange and black. Hackett’s Blackhawks mask was perfect.
Tukka's mask towards the end with the Bruins....Roy's 1993 mask....Belfour's Chicago mask....Hayward's very first Sharks mask.....Phillies logo mask....and of course.....Gratton's lion mask....so many more
awesome feature! as an artist, growing up, the fact that goalies could paint their masks with whatever they liked drew me into hockey. So unique, so cool. Hockey rules.
What are we even talking about. Vanbiesbrouck's Florida mask. Ed Belfour's Eagle. Richter's Statue of Liberty. Gratton's Tiger. Valiquette's Spider Man.
Didn't Luit just have the unpainted white mask? I recall seeing Luit as a Whaler. His Blues days predates me. He and Dryden seem to come from the same school of technique. Can't tel them apart.
@@MisterMister5893 The mask we're referring to is the old-school mask that sticks to your face. Liut's was plain white but it had a long narrow cheek and chin design. Check it out online. Very cool-looking mask.
Not a single mask cage combo is either intimidating nor scary due to the fact that you can see their faces. Bernie Parent, Pelle Lindbergh, Murray Bannerman, Grant Fuhr, and anyone wearing a true goalie mask where only the eyes were seen was much more intimidating.
The OG Cheevers and homage from Shields are beautiful. Ears included. Of course, the Potvin one is iconic, I grew up watching him play. Sometimes I forget Biron is younger than the goalies I watched as a kid because we're exactly the same age. Hard to reconcile some of the players you watched play are your age or younger, though I look much better than Martin at the same age ;)
Mason Nashville...Iron Maiden's Eddie Egyptian theme.....That should be in a Shrine. Most utilitarian? Hasek, Osgood, Cloutier, Prusek, Irbe.....The last of an era we will never see again.
The awkward look at the end lol
I think Noodles didn’t know if they were done or not.
Ed Belfort Eagle masks were always 🔥

Brian Hayward's Sharks mask was iconic. Loved that thing.
Ed Belfour's eagle mask was always awesome, no matter which team he played for.
4:17 Im glad Korpisalo mentioned Kipper's mask. ICONIC
As an Oiler fan I have to say the Kidd/Tabaracci era had some of the sharpest Flames masks I have ever seen. Shout out to Roman Turek and Iron Maiden's Eddie.
Andy Moog’s Bruin mask was my favourite. Loved Potvin’s, Cujo’s, Belfour’s, and Toskola’s as well.
Brian Hayward's San Jose mask was pretty sweet. It looked like a great white shark was eating his face.

How did Belfours mask not even get mentioned..
I loved Ron Hextall's polar bear mask he wore when he was on the Nordiques. Seemed real fitting for him. Lol
He also had the puck stops here huge orange Arrow for the flyers. That one was cool.
Toskala had an underrated mask
What are we even talking about. Vanbiesbrouck's Florida mask. Ed Belfour's Eagle. Richter's Statue of Liberty. Gratton's Tiger. Valiquette's Spider Man.
Don’t forget about the Lundqvist crown
CuJo will always be my favorite. Always.
Biron and Noodles are such jokes.

hands down best all time mask was Mike Liut's from 80's St.Louis Blues
Agreed. Simple but looked cool and intimidating
Didn't Luit just have the unpainted white mask? I recall seeing Luit as a Whaler. His Blues days predates me. He and Dryden seem to come from the same school of technique. Can't tel them apart.
@@MisterMister5893 yes just a plain white mask, looked awesome. google mike liut st louis blues..

no one said Bannerman. Murrays has got to be one of the all time greats. It brought the Blackhawks logo to life.
Eddie the eagle all day
Brodeur's mask is super iconic. Simple but if you see it, you know it's him

Joseph, Belfour, Hasek, Cheevers and Fuhr my favourites.
CuJo and Belfour's masks are all time greats. Andy Moog's Dallas Stars mask was also awesome.
What year did they go from a full faced mask to the mask/cage hybrid?
Ken Dryden's original mask, the one he wore for his first 2-3 years with the Habs, was awesome, kind of sinister.
Beezer's Ranger mask of the New York skyline and the giant bees flying around was awesome
Underrated masks Quebec Nordiques Stephane Fiset igloo mask and Ron Hextall yeti/bear mask from 92-93 season!
Bryan Hayward Sharks mask is a classic.
Mike Richter's Liberty head. Lundquist and Shesterkin both have paid homage to it.
Dan Bouchards Flames masks were cool
Hellebuyck and Brossoit have some sick masks🔥
Mason Nashville...Iron Maiden's Eddie Egyptian theme.....That should be in a Shrine.

Or Roman Turek’s Iron Maiden masks in St. Louis!
@@durrrrl3435Yup!
How does Mike Richter statue of liberty mask not even get a mention
Gerry Cheevers mask was always the best, even today.
Potvin. Enough said.
Tony O
It's Kolzig for me
Ken Dryden or Patrick Roy
