Now it's getting revenge by manipulating children and dividing adults using its godly power. It's all black and white now, there is no middle ground. Ask anyone if they would allow their daughter to change in front of a full grown man with a penis & a wig. See what kind of answers you will get.....
      5 years ago... 0% would say it is acceptable. 8,000,000,000 people out of 8,000,000,000 people would have said "No, it's not OK for man with a penis to watch a naked 5 year old take a shower".

      There are some caveats there:
      be sure to stay relatively well-informed before making any conclusions;
      stay open to new information and developments.
      Too many people are not thinking in the long term and can't stand hearing opinions different from their perspective, to the point where they misrepresent and even demonize each other because of it. If A.I. is harming a group of people, don't just brush this under the rug as if these people are troglodytes.
      [I'm talking about artists getting their work trained on without their consent-one individual had a program write lines of text to me without my knowing about it instead of asking me, the human, questions about this. Instead, they were being very optimistic and...I don't know if this is what they or the A.I. wrote, but they went on about SYMBIOSIS and DEMOCRATIZATION of art and how this technology will benefit quite literally everyone, despite being told many times that I should just "adapt" to new ways of doing things. Like, yeah, this is actually nothing new-artists have always been forced into adapting to most treatment and have been stigmatized for even demanding to have liveable wages. The public attitude is that they have to prove themselves worthy even if something unethical or even illegal happens. Now, A.I. evolved so quickly that it took them by surprise and they can't protect themselves as much as the music industry because they don't have that level of legal protection. So, people are like: "Well, then there shouldn't be copyright", because it's all about the new ways of doing things with A.I.-the process of training it on someone's work to then have it make something that looks similar.
      The question is: *how are we supposed to really differentiate between a person and an algorithm, anymore?* Will most people still care about that, when they have an A.I. that can do something that is sufficiently good according to their standards? What about artworks that have been made by someone that really cares enough to have worked on cultivating skills for years to make them? Wouldn't this make the work that much more meaningful?
      I've asked that same question and every time, the A.I. users never give an answer. They just tell me that my line of thinking is dogmatic or uneducated. For me, it's simple: _people are not machines. Therefore, we should advocate for and push for practical ways of authenticating things if we are to move forward with this technology. We should be doing that YESTERDAY, but for some _*_particular reasons,_*_ that's still not the case:_
      - people trying to claim automated work as their own;
      - people making false analogies with cameras and pendulum art, not to mention telling me that a brush is doing the work for me... They can't make the difference between automation and a tool. Just because A.I. is a tool from their perspective doesn't make it any less automated.
      So, I'm wary of anyone who, be they optimistic of pessimistic, pretend like they know...how things are going to play out.
      If you want my optimistic take on this, I believe artists and humans will not be replaced as many others have said because people tend to gravitate more towards meaningful acts. That doesn't prevent me from considering the bad actors who just don't care about it and in fact see this as a flaw that must be corrected or who just don't look far enough in the long term. Now that I've written what I'm optimistic about, does that really make my comments any more reliable? All I did was give my opinion and I may be wrong about it.
      I think that, instead of just picking a side, people should think by themselves first and foremost. Depending on how that goes, who knows what will happen.
      I honestly can't tell.
      It's okay to not know something. If I don't know, I'm not going to make a bold conclusion without sufficient basis.]

    As a teacher of nearly 3 decades, I see as the biggest shortcoming in education the fact that most places I worked at do not teach that learning has an intrinsic value by itself. And I assume that is true for most schools in the US and probably beyond. The prevalent reasoning (you'll need it to get a job, make money etc. is not (apparently) sufficient motivator for learning. Parents from birth of their child and schools later must first attempt to instil in the child an idea that learning in itself, most ANY learning, is exciting and rewarding. I firmly believe that for all those who acquired such an "excitement" for learning, educating themselves remains fun for the rest of their life. The point is to give this gift to those who are not Elon Musk, Peter Diamandis and all those others like them, who already asquired it (but these types of individuals are a tiny fraction of world's population) but to most kids. Speaking of an exponential growth - that's I believe a pretty good recipe to achieve one ... and I am not talking about AI. Here comes hoewever the hardest part, engineering and manufacturing as Elon says, that is, how to restructure the entire system of education to accomplish this.

    Well done, Peter focusing on the one fundamental thing I disagree with Elon on.
    I think Elon can be won over to the age/health extension side. It strikes me listening to Elon over the years that he hasn't really looked indept on indefinitely extending health span.

    At 1:08:50 Elon asks "Would you want Kim Jong Un living for 1,000 years?" then Diamandis responds he would like Elon, himself, "... and a few thousand other amazing entrepreneurs out there" to live for 150 years. Would they turn themselves in at 150 years, even if fully healthy and their bodies were kept at a controlled age/fitness? Who will be in control of the ageing process and how do you plan on keeping that control? Does anyone have the right to decide who has access to this technology? It is important when assuming and talking about abundance, to acknowledge the challenge of acceptance when almost every commercial business ( excluding the IT tech world) has been pricing & positioning their product, company & future strategy that sells the concept of “scarcity” which then prices the product or service. Governments & politics only emphasises & even creates scarcity to create control, build fear, sell promises to secure their future. Abundance needs other descriptions that do not create images of mountains of cash & luxury. Shortages are the lifeline of modern capitalism & democracy.

    There was statement mentioning that folks are not having more kids because the lack of hope for the future . I think thats partially true but the other thing is the convenience that technology has brought isn't cheap . We work more to support those convenience and we have no time to spend with our kids . We throw our kids to the education system that is crap and we come home we are too exhausted and the economy of leisure takes effect . If we want to have more kids our society should not feel burned out.

    It's clear that population dynamics are influenced by a variety of factors, including personal choices regarding family planning and reproduction. Decisions about whether to have children can be deeply personal and are often influenced by a range of considerations, including financial stability, health concerns, career goals, and personal beliefs.
    In discussions about population growth or decline, it's important to consider the complex array of social, economic, and individual factors that influence these decisions. Access to education, healthcare, and family planning resources can play significant roles in these choices.
    Moreover, addressing broader societal issues such as poverty, women's rights, and access to education can also impact population trends. By creating supportive environments where individuals can make informed choices about their reproductive health, societies can better address the diverse needs and perspectives of their populations.
    Respectful dialogue and understanding are key when discussing such sensitive topics, as they touch upon deeply personal decisions and beliefs.

Same with the Carbon Xprize the true price of Carbon including health needs to be considered. a internal 20 dollar Carbon price at companies while beter that a $5 price is still meaningless if your spending money still on fossil fuel. Carbon cost need to be $1,000 or $2,000 and fossil fuel left in the ground.

    Utilizing the carbon collected from various carbon capture technologies to benefit plants and trees is a smart and eco-friendly approach. Plants naturally absorb carbon dioxide during photosynthesis, so providing additional carbon to them can enhance their growth and ability to remove CO2 from the atmosphere. This can be particularly effective in reforestation projects or in urban green spaces, where plants and trees play a crucial role in maintaining ecological balance and improving air quality. By integrating carbon capture technology with efforts to support plant life, we can create a more sustainable and greener future.

    • @ScampMichael
      @ScampMichael 10 місяців тому +1

      Carbon capture only makes sense if you're trying to get rich by making things complicated. How are you going to use the carbon captured to enhance reforestation?

    • @I-Dophler
      @I-Dophler 10 місяців тому +1

      @@ScampMichael Actually, carbon capture technology has broader implications beyond financial gain. It's a crucial tool in addressing climate change. Captured carbon can be used in various ways, including enhancing reforestation. For instance, carbon can be stored in soil, improving its quality, which in turn benefits plant growth. Additionally, it can be used in creating biochar, a stable form of carbon that can be added to soil, enriching it and promoting healthier, more robust forest growth. This method not only aids reforestation but also creates a long-term carbon sink, helping to reduce overall atmospheric CO2 levels.

    • @ScampMichael
      @ScampMichael 10 місяців тому +1

      Like I said, so complex that only makes sense if you can soak taxpayers to fund it instead of doing the logical thing and reducing carbon output to make such costly measures unnecessary.

    • @I-Dophler
      @I-Dophler 10 місяців тому +1

      @@ScampMichael I have to disagree for the following reasons: While it's true that reducing carbon output is essential, it's not the only viable solution. Often, the most effective strategies involve a combination of reducing emissions and developing technologies to mitigate their effects. It's not just about soaking taxpayers; it's about investing wisely in a future that's sustainable for all. Complex solutions are sometimes necessary for complex problems, and addressing climate change is definitely one of those. Let's not oversimplify a multifaceted issue.
