Good progress guys, maybe the goop in the seal channel was Butyl rubber . It's great for sealing vapor barriers to the door but not in the window channel.
Gary, I was riding around Germany on an M-60 tank in 1962. Anyway, this was a great video since I need window kits for my bay. I see turn signal switch problems are standard. The one on the bay was broken, went through 2 reproductions that weren't any better. The bay now has one off a Kenworth. Different but works like a champ. Looking forward to next workday. 👍
Wellllllllllll, had to turn my totaled 74 Beetle over to the insurance company that i've had for 20 plus years. It got beat to hell with the hail that came through Round Rock a couple of weeks ago. It had just short of $6000. dollars of damage to it and I just didn't have it in me to try and fix it. I've still got quite a few 74 VW parts and was wondering if you had a good idea into how to sell off those parts. I'm not looking to get much on it but need to get rid of them. If ya might be able to give me a few suggestions. Thanks for any help you might give me............. Things like 1 AM-FM Radio, 2 AM Radios, new headliner, never out of the box, tail lights, turn signals, new beige interior front door panels (with all new tabs), factory jack, new carburetor etc,,,,,,,,,,
Hey Gary. I thought I had already made this post, but now I can’t find it, so forgive me if it is a duplicate. Do you still have the blue Porsche 914 that you scored a year ago. If you still have it, I’d love to buy it if you’re willing to sell it. I’ll be watching this comment to see your reply. I love VDubs and had a VW repair shop in the 70s. I built a 72 Karmann Gaia with 2300cc, dual Webers, and all the tricks to make it fast. I’ve been debating building another Karmann Gaia, but lately I’ve been lusting for a 914, with plans to fully restore. I’ll be at the next gathering at Top Notch this month and I’ll look for you. I’d love to hear from you.
The 914 went off to a fellow over in Houston in the spring. I think they are super cool little cars, and nothing, and I mean nothing handles as well as a dialed in 914!

The team work drilling and screwing that felt in was a thing of beauty.
I like that the valve cover racers is set up on an extra wide BSA Pinewood Derby Track.
It's crazy some of the valve cover racer contraptions these guys show up with!
Ah, back when things were simple. No sensors, computers, etc. Thanks for posting.

Thank you Charles for your service Charles!
Bummer to see Matt Jackson selling his split window.
My "63 doors are like that- screwed in felt channel, PITA arrangement. Not fun, but it works.
oh, when I put in new channels, I used self-tapping screws. Just personal preference.
I'll be doing a '63 as well, thanks for the heads up.@@TheJorgSacul
Let me guess a relative of the VW Harvest guys is gonna win it again 🤭
Oh SNAP! I know you didn't 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😇
nice job.
Thank you for watching!!!
I REPLACED WINDOW FELTS AND WINDOW SCRAPERS ON MY 69 Bug last winter, it was very, very difficult😢😢, so was painful to watch this!
It's actually getting easier it seems, I think early models are WAY easier with the early stylke regulator.
hb23 is coming along great ! whats up with the type 3 ?
Got put on hold- harvest is coming too quick. Had to shift gears to the 62 😎😎
👍
