I'm in this Fandome for about two years now and at the beginning I thought "Great, you again joined something in its dying days.". Luckily this isn't the case.
Still mostly accurate though, but either way through the harships I'm glad we have this fandom and people trying to keep it amazing and that will keep the memory and magic of G4 alive.
I'm still here from G4, I loved every part of it too. I don't think the G4 people will ever go or die out. I mean there are some who didn't and refuse to watch past season two or one. I can't remember. What do you think tho? Think we'll still be around?

I'm proud to say that even though some would leave, new ones would always enter and stay, like myself and I hope to keep this fandom alive, trying to contribute to the community with my little efforts (and an animation I've been enslaving myself to but hopefully I can finish it to show the world that the brony community will always be alive and kicking continuing to release content for people to enjoy)

The brony fandom is like the Phoenix of the internet, we just keep dying and reviving. I’ve been a part of the community for over a decade and it’s been fun as hell living through both the chaos and the creativity. Even if old pillars of the community leave, the foundations of the fandom are so strong that new members will always be able to join. This was a great video (although I am a little surprised you didn’t mention Derpyboorieu or anything about all of the mountains of art the community has made).

In years we've seen many things : creators doing incredible things, memes, animation, reviews, reactions, music, arts and so much. I've seen the downside, the bad things, the horrible things that sometime people only see and then says "this fandom is only for weirdo and sick people". And yet, we live, we survive, we love and we hate or fandom, we leave, we return and sometime we rediscover. Sometime we simply go, and it's ok it's our choice, maybe some leave with regret, other with great memories, other will cheriss this time and other will regret the good old times. And yet we're still here, a flame too stubborn to die, maybe one day it will not shine at all, but I know that the memories will still be here. And if it dies, the next generation will take the flame and give her an other time of glory. Personnaly my ride will not end yet, And you can say that "pony is just for little children" but I will says "Don't care, this ride will never end" ^^
What I wouldn’t give to have attended another BronyCon before its closure! It holds a special place in my heart as my very first convention. Lots of my memories from it are still pretty vivid, especially the “Don’t jump!” incident @ Bronypalooza.
i always wanted to create fan content but i feel like it's too late now.... probably not. but i always have that anxiety it's gonna slowly become a ghost town. like other segments of the community i was in that died out after a while. people becoming inactive. hard to find others to connect with. i should just put myself out there. i've been lurking around the background the whole time. but it's probably better that i start doing it now being an adult when i was just a teenager for most of it.
2 years later and I finally come to watch this! There is some great editing and that in of itself made me laugh to much. Thank for you for this gift, Banquo! 😊
Ehhh, I'm of the opinion that the fandom is still slowly declining, like covid really killed off what was left of the convention/meetup scene. G5 is rather meh, and the fandom has largely dispersed into other fandoms, it's not as unique or prevalent as it used to be.
A very splendid interpretation of the fandoms history Banquo! and you are right even though the fandom has rised and died time and time again so many Bronies became dedicated keeping it going for as long as possible. they were doing it for all those 9 years and some of them are still doing it now, people in the community may come and go but the fandom itself will never completely die. There will always be people out there doing their best keep both the fandom and the legacy of mlp G4 preserved and alive, while trying to make room for the future of mlp generations yet to come at the same time...for now that G4's era in the fandoms history has passed it's time for the new era of the fandom to begin.
I got here from Littleshy's Top 10 Video. A++ good job. Then I went on and watched every one of the Explaining videos. I have not laughed so hard since DWK was still making videos. You earned a sub from me and I'll be watching for future content.
Nah I don’t think it will. I loved the new movie and the shorts. I wasn’t a fan at first, but it’s not that bad and I’d much rather this than stretch G4 until it slowly got worse and died a slow death. This way, everybody will remember it as a good show, not one that got shitty until it was canceled.
Nice video I really liked the second long shout-outs to the different creators (though I think DWK was far too important in the later days of G4 to not include him)
While it may or may not get the same height as say 2011 - 2014 brony heights (Never say never though) I do think the longer g5 goes on and gets it's footing the more people will either comeback or new faces will join the heard The ride never ends this show really impacted my life since I first watched it in freshman year back in highschool in 2011
I have been in an out of the fandom since I first started watching it when I was 5 (well unofficially anyway), up until recently I thought it was a silly little kid show.. boy was I wrong. I started rewatching the series (I thought I should add that my dad was also on the briny hype train) as well as watching more pony content than ever. Heck, I’m even hosting my own MLP dnd campaign with friends who aren’t even in the fandom. Now I can say that I am unashamed to like stuff for “kids” (i mean look at bluey everyone loves that show). Now I can say with absolute confidence, I am a brony, and I’m not going anywhere. Even though I have my doubts about g5 so far I hope this fandom will always live on forever. It's comments like these that keep up my hope, that even though I've been disconnected with the Fandom and series since 2017 for personal reasons and only managed to return a very short while ago, that the Fandom is still at least alive.
Even if the current series ends up being a failure from a critical standpoint in the end, there will still be people that enjoyed it to some extent, and if not, people still nostalgic for G4.
I left with the filthy casuals but the show certainly has never left my mind as it was also a big part of my formative years. Twilight turning into celestia was a shock tho, but not too surprising I guess.
I want it to be rebooted and remade with the same artists/artstyle and the same or even better writters. Maybe in an alternate universe or something. Maybe it could make it where the ponies and humans live among eachother like in one of the previous generations? Or it could have new characters but drawn in the same style. Or even better, it could have the new main characters be the Mane 6's children, and we get to see their lives and ect (and still see the Mane 6 ocassionaly, due to them being their parents lol.) Just brainstorming here. I dunno.

Those that dislike G5 (like myself, the quality is just garbage imo,) are waiting and enjoying the A.I. growth content and supporting current content makers as we wait for the tools to make our own eps. 10, maybe 20 years, and pone is going to come back twice as hard as everybody makes their own eps with applejack, and hookers!

Hasbro might not have tied all loose ends, but considering how long and successful Gen 4 was, it couldn't have ended any better than it did. Had they drawn the show out longer, the ending would have only been worse.
