82000 people and Floor just joined the band and won over all these people during the first song. Almost 2 hours of concert. This was the third to last song and it's flawless. The night of her life. According to Floor magical.

Floor joined the band mid tour in late 2012 and had 48 hours to learn the setlist travelling from The Netherlands to the USA and on to Seattle. This is the first time that most of this 82,000 crowd had heard her sing with Nightwish although many knew the songs as all performed by the previous singers, Tarja Turunen (operatic) and then Anette Olzon (pop). After ten months she nails every song and brings something new to many. Like this ending.
No one like Floor .....she should be a household name across the world .
But then her full name, as Floor or Floortje (little Floor) are very common names in the Netherlands😮

Funny thing, us older fans have seen these videos A LOT of times but they never grow old. It is always so nice to see new people being introduced to Nightwish and especially with Floor who is a vocal beast. The set list for Wachen 2013 is a really good starting point. And start at the first song "Dark chest of wonders" and do them in order if you like. Anyway you do them it will be epic ❤

So glad you guys are reacting to this epic band. I felt the same three years ago when i was first introduced to them. We made a decision to flyout 8000 miles to go watch Nightwish live with Floor. This was exactly one month ago where the show was in Gelsenkirchen Germany. Floor was already around seven months pregnant and oh boy she performed like the true Valkyrie Queen that she is. Yeah a real Devine experience indeed

Great watching the wife get chills and loving Floor and Nightwish as we do. Floor is born and raised in the Netherlands but lives in Sweden as she is married to the drummer of Sabaton. The main band is Finnish and besides Floor, Troy Donockley (who plays flutes, ilean pipes, mandolin etc) is from the UK.
Continue the journey with your wife and show her some more from the Wacken Open Air 2013 show, and then move ahead to some from 2015 at Wembley Arena or Tampere. There is also some great songs live from Buenos Aires 2018 etc.
Now you need to introduce Ash to some Epica, featuring Floor's bff Simone Simons on vocals. Specifically the live Retrospect Show version of "Sancta Terra", which has both Simone and Floor singing together.

Great reaction! The organ looking structure is a keyboard stand housing two of Tuomas's Korg keyboards. It is modeled after the Sibelius monument in Helsinki, Finland. Jean Sibelius is a famous Finnish classical composer and a big inspiration to Tuomas. The flaming bull's head is the symbol of the Wacken Open Air festival, one of the largest metal festivals in the world. Normally Wacken is a sleepy 2000 person cattle ranching community this the bulls head as their logo. 82,000 fans at this show (over 100,000 this summer).

Such an amazing concert! Floor is magnificent
82000+ people. When I bought my tickets to this concert in 2012, NW had a different vocalist and the tickets sold out fast. I had heard Floor sing in After Forever, but it wouldn't be the same as in NW. It was epic from the start. Approximately half the 15 song set list were former Tarja songs, the other half had been from the new album written to highlight Anette's voice. Floor took all of the songs and blew us away. She was just finishing the tour - technically not an official band member, but when the tour was done she had earned a lot of respect from the band. If memory serves, in either September or October the band decided to add her to the band officially. By the time they had gotten to Wacken, there was enough justification to sink a lot of money into filming the concert and into pressing an album with Floor's vocals. There's a European copy of the concert on DVD. If someone is reading this from the US, find a computer with a DVD drive and change the settings to the European zone than all the necessary changes will take place so that you can watch the DVD. There are also a few non-region locked Blu-Ray players (probably from China) that will also play it.
The thing about Floor is she can sing like this, and so much more. Like the meme goes, Most singers sing what they can, Floor sings what she wants (and yes she have sung a page or two from the telephonebook on a Dutch radioshow).
The flaming Bull skull, is the trademark / Mascot of Wachen.
Wachen is Europes biggest Metal Festival and I think its top 3 biggest metal festivals in the World.
I'm a fan of Floor since I heard her sing with After Forever live in 2004. She kind of introduced the music of Nightwish to me when she joined them. Tuomas is a musical genius. After having watched hundreds of reaction videos to Ghost Love Score I thought I'd be a bit fed up with the song but I still got emotional when I saw then do this live a month ago.
I don’t think it’s actually possible to become fed up with this song, performance, or band! After 3+ solid years of watching these reactions I still haven’t come close to getting tired.
Seeing this song live is a whole different experience, in fact no matter how good the recording of a concert is, nothing compares to actually being there. I was fortunate to see them live in both huge as well as more intimate settings, but it's always amazing and leaves me high wired for days.

Hello you two. This was a wonderful reaction to our beloved Nightwish with their 3rd and current female lead vocalist, our 6'1" (barefoot) Valkyrie goddess, Floor Jansen (Yahn-sen). Nightwish is the rare band whose live performances are even better than their studio productions. Please keep the Nightwish live reactions coming, Every song at this legendary Wacken 2013 concert is wonderful. A bit of useful trivia, when Nightwish released the DVD and high-definition Blu-ray disks of this concert, unfortunately, the Blu-ray video was sampled at 24 Frames Per Second instead of the CORRECT SPEED of 25 FPS. So if you happen to pull up a recording of a song that was uploaded from the Blu-ray, the singers' lips are out of sync with the audio which is good on both versions. Fortunately, @NightwishArena has remastered every song from the high-definition Blu-ray and resampled the videos at 25 FPS. Found this band in 2019 due the tv show “Beste Zangers” where Floor was joining the members. As an old soul DJ who’s didn’t like Metal and some hard rock at all, I have to say I love this music. NightWish is the top of the genre for me and believe me the top of this Music is in Europe. Great bands, composers, singers and musicians and they are all so versatile. Collaborations are everywhere in the scene and for you to prove this, investigate the Ayreon project from Arjan Lucassen with singers and mustangs from all over the world. Search for Epica (10 years anniversary concertmore divers), Within Temptation (Black Symphony concert) or the Gatering (25 year anniversary concert)BTW great reaction
Honestly, I've seen about a hundred different reaction channels cover this performance. The reactions are nearly as good as the song. Everyone has the same facial expression; one that says "What the fuck did I just listen to, and where can I get more of it!"

There is a Celtic folk vibe in some of Nightwish' music. Great fun OBD & Ash. Floor is also 183 cm in her bare feet. Great to have Ash along for the ride. Floor is Dutch, the rest of the band (in this form) is Finnish. Troy (the flautist/piper/backup vocalist currently in the band but not at this performance) is English.
Lots of Finnish folk influence in their work, but minimal Celtic influence. The closest they come to proper Celtic music is their cover of Gary Moore's 'Over the hills and far away'. They have done some Tolkien influenced stuff early on (Tolkien himself was heavily influenced by Finnish mythology, especially the Kalevala).
Sea shanty lol, a lot of reactors call it pirates of the Caribbean vibes. Probably because their is celtic influences in music across many northern European countrys.

She sings O Mio Babbino Caro and from the gamecube game Final Fantasy Chronicals, Sound of the Wind.. Wacken is pronounced VACKEN mate and it's one of the most famous Metal music events in the world. There are 82,000 fans there at the event every year in Germany, my favourite band Sabaton played there a few times. Floor Jansen the Female singer in Nightwish is Dutch and is married to my favourite band's Drummer Hannes van Dahl who plays for Sabaton who come from Sweden. Nightwish are from Finland and the keyboard player TOUMAS HOLOPAINEN is also the lead writer of the majority of Nightwish songs and co founder of Nightwish. Toumas Holopainen is known as the new Beethoven as he is a musical composer genius. Floor Jansen is the greatest Female singer of all time and the greatest front woman of a band in history. Commented on so many reactions- I try not to sound redundant, and post something mostly different every time, if I can.
So many people throw their comparisons out, trying to place a finger on what they just heard. "Pirates of the Caribbean", "Effervescence", etc.
If you'd allow me to, this is what I heard, when I first heard Nightwish: They call themselves a "Symphonic Metal" band, and they're every bit of that- But they're also a VIKING band.
Vikings sang like non-other. Folk through & through, but they were great storytellers, Hardcore, leaving nothing out, they could rivet their audiences in place.
That pause at the start, so many don't understand what's going on- That's called an "Overture". It gives the audience time to digest what they've just seen, but moreover, it builds expectation, there's a feeling of being on the verge of battle for a reason, something many who react, claim to feel AFTER the show begins again.
Think of movies like "The Ten Commandments" and such- when something is longer, but also EPIC, Overtures are sometimes used for effect, (here), for a "break", and things of this nature.
I've watched many reaction videos, and read many, many comments. None touch on the Nordish connection, which actually surprised me. I never commented on it, waiting to see if others would. I never found any- NOT that they don't exist, I've just never seen any.
For myself, when approached from this angle? It FULLY describes this band, what I see from them- and there's no doubt Floor is of that kind of incredible, stoic, beautiful stature, and would have fit right in with ANY Viking Story-telling adventure they came up with.
In fact? Viking music, inspired a lot of Classical music. Believe it or not, Operatic styling? Goes hand-in-hand with Heavy Metal/Rock music. There've been many who've crossed over, because it's such a good fit, as this song attests.
I know this is a bit long- most like short, 1-2 line comments- but explanations take words to impart what a person is trying to say.
Imo? Nightwish could add either "Norse", "Nordic", or " Scandinavian" in their description, and it would fit right in.

This song means soooo much too me because when years ago when i was in the hospital due too a drug overdose I was in a coma for almost 2 weeks and when i heard this song my eyes were starting too open up so everything I hear this song whether it's the original or this version I start tearing up so Nightwish DEFINITLEY saved my life

I saw them at the Nova Rock Festival. At the beginning of June. Floor was hevily pregnant (Sorry for that). But she did the Show with Headbanging and what not. It was great....

Yes Floor has gone home for extended rest periods to ready herself to give birth to her second child. All Nightwish Army personnel are keeping their fingers crossed that this second pregnancy will go as well as her first one did.
Floor is a very strong and powerful woman. She is 6'1" and close to 200lbs. Look at her upper body muscles and her big quads!! We have no reason to believe she will fail in this pregnancy. But we will rejoice(and weep)when she delivers her little one safely.
