  • 3 Minute Self Massage For Tennis & Golfer’s Elbow
In this video I share a 3 minute massgae routine that I use to recover from golfer’s elbow and to prevent future flare ups.
I’m using my Theragun (I was gifted this a few last year to review) but I also show you how you can do it without one.

I usually drop my string tension 2 lbs. in winter to avoid tennis elbow which worked but then my triceps began to flare up. I took a couple weeks off and will do some light hitting today. I will try your massage therapy. Thanks for the video.

Looser strings is definitely good advice. I hope the massage works!💪

Massage can help a bit to increase blood flow but tennis elbow is caused by microtears in the tendon and the tendon failing to heal properly (which results in loss of strength, pain etc). The best treatment are obviously rest couple with controlled eccentric strengthening exercises of the tendon over the period of time with increasing loads (typically over 12 weeks) to rehabilate the tendon and allow it to repair properly. The best book on this is Treat Your Own Tennis Elbow by Jim Johnson

I've got that book and can highly recommend it! Very easy to read and good practical exercises.

It’s hard to say without being a physiotherapist and knowing your problem… but, it helps with increasing blood flow and loosening muscles around the forearm and has helped my wrist tendinitis.

Trying to decide between the elite and the mini theragun. Any thoughts on them?

Mini is the best if you’re planning to take it with you when travelling, the elite is better if you’re going to use on your back a lot as the grip allows you to get to hard to reach places comfortably

@@TheTennisMentor I was thinking more on my arms, not really my back. Since the arm muscles are smaller I think the elite might be too much power but I haven’t been able to try it

@@DevAlvaroF if mainly for your arm, you don’t need more than the mini in my opinion

Zu teuer, meine Gun von Lidl kosten 40 Euro! Ansonsten mache ich die gleichen Übungen seit Wochen gegen meinen Golferarm. Aber nur wenig Besserung!

I just play touchtennis instead. Problem solved!

I recommend touchtennis to lots of players that have had injuries as a lower impact reintroduction to tennis. Lots get hooked and continue to play it!
