Quick little update because this was recorded a couple weeks ago: I got a regrind done on my SBR by Alex Steingraber, it’s at 10 thou BTE and I’m really enjoying it👍

I have a LUDT and have been carrying it everyday for 3+ years. My favorite auto by far.

The ludt is the best knife ive ever owned. I bought 6 but 5 are still brand new because i cant damage the first one. For $250, its the best auto for the money.

I like how you're doing videos in different environments in the last couple vids!

Thanks! The lighting outside is nice and it’s quieter outside than inside my house where I usually record😂. The only thing I don’t like is the background noise (wind, rain, bugs, etc)

I just bought a Ludt last month and have been eyeing the Sbr but I don’t think I’ll be dropping $180 after this video I will enjoy my Ludt . Thanks !

Ludt is amazing slicer. The heat treats these days seem great..no problems

As someone who is into Japanese kitchen knives this is no news to me, but more outdoor/tactical/etc folks should watch this as that could lead to more knives with an edge geometry more suitable for actual cutting could start to hit the market. So thank you for doing this in such a detail.

I just ordered my first kitchen knife. It’s a Nexus 8” Chefs knife in BD1N. I’m not much of a cook but I want to slice & dice😂

All info is good info....good explanations. The SBR will naturally bind like u said due to wedge but will excel at other stuff. Oh ya don’t forget the grain of the cardboard matters too. Nice vid👍🏻. 👊🏼

Yes, knives that have thick grinds and thick stocks really bind when cutting cardboard. Also the cardboard I was cutting was very thick, thicker than most of the stuff I really cut 👍

Nice video. What edge angle is the LUDT?

Nicely done bro. How do you think the SBR would do against the LUDT now that it's reground? The bte thickness is closer but the other variables haven't changed. Very interesting.

I think the LUDT would do a little bit better because of the grind height and the thinner stock, but they would be very close, probably too close to call a clear winner👍

Ergos! Ergonomics are super important when u actually cut and actually make up for lack of slicing ability
