FYI I have a para 3 lw and a regular and the regular is much less comfortable. The wire clip is superior for comfort as are the rounded edges of the scales. After being used to the lw the regular was a bit of a let down as far as comfort. Suggest getting one in hand before purchasing.

i know this was 3 years ago but i just got an ummnumzan that has been used and has no black mark but does have even wear aka smooth spots through the coating on both sides of the scale from the thumstuds/ stop pins. no rock or blade play still feels new

I see so many people obsessing over deep carry pocket clips. I have knives that came with them, and knives that didn’t. Of all the Spydercos I own, I have not felt compelled to purchase a new clip. I just don’t get it. 🤷‍♂️ If you’re really concerned with someone seeing that you have a knife in your pocket, just ditch the clip altogether. I mean, no matter how deep your knife carries, the pocket clip is still a dead giveaway that you have a knife in your pocket. And for me, with the standard pocket clip, when I draw my knife it’s where I need it to open it. A deep carry clip changes that in a negative way. I think “deep carry” is one of those parroting things that newbies see/read, and then believe it’s necessary for years to come. 🙄

I been sharpening knives off and on for almost 35 years. I'm not a pro by any means. I can hand/stone convex. I jave the same knife and can't get it hair popping sharp with a convex edge. Other s30v, no prob. Other spiderco, no problem. This knife in particular gives me a problem

Hi there , i do enjoy your utube videos they are very helpfull informative and educational. Do you still like using the worsharp guided sharpener WS/GS , also which spyderco ceramic stone or stones did you use to finish up on medium, fine, or ultra fine after using the WS/GS. Kind regards Dave

They are similar in handle & blade size. Both have fingers choils & both are similar in thickness behind the edge. Personally, I prefer the back lock between these two knives. Although I’d take the frame lock of the discontinued Sage 2 over both of these locks.

1000 grit is great but ideally i would go 2000 or 3000 on western knives and 5000 plus on anything with 61 hrc or more. 1000 with a 5 micron stop will get anything razor sharp.

I have their medium and fine stone pretty good stones but I don’t think anyone needs a stone this ultra fine stone or even the fine version as the medium stone by itself gets a knife hair popping sharp 🤷‍♂️.

i think the omegas break when people try to pull back with just 1 stub, versus using both stubs. when i got my 940, yes i played with it alot and broke a spring after a month. changed them once and have held up for the last year. but i also use it non stop all day. i believe if you upgrade the scales to after market g10. it would become more firm and remove the blade play. i'm really thrilled with my first benchmade.

I think everything you don’t like about the Emerson knife is exactly what Ernest Emerson was designing his knives to be. It is not a fidget knife. Emerson designed it to withstand punishment. If that is not what you want don’t get an Emerson.

It´s a good stone but still a bit coarse to be the only stone for people who care about having sharp knives. There are people who use their knives untill they don´t cut anything anymore but those usually use pull through sharpeners or stuff like that. People who care about keeping their knives sharp and would even watch videos about sharpening stones, usually just want to touch it up the edge when it starts becomming dull. These people would benefit from using the Naniwa Aotoishi, the green brick of joy. It´s the only stone I need for maintaining my knives. It´s splash and go, it´s reasonably fast and it leaves a near polish edge. It´s also tall and heavy enough, so you need no holder. My knives never become so dull that I need a 1000 grit stone.

You certainly do “ramble on a lot.” I’ve never had a lockback on a knife fail. The only failures that I’ve experienced were on liner lock knives. I bought 2 Dragonfly2 knives in VG10 and one hasn’t been out of its box yet because the other is indestructible and having so much fun being a knife..!!

I’ve had a Sebenza 25 for some eight years and it has good durability. It’s engineering is flawed however. My peeve is the stop pin. When I first cleaned and reassembled I didn’t notice the stop pin has a milled flat surface on one area which has to face the pivot for clearance. The scimpy instructions didn’t mention it. I needed better instructions and less decals and shop cloth in the box. It was a pain to realize the stop pin needed an adhesive to keep the knife from jamming like a 1911 with a bad mag. I’ve learned to live with it and the quality materials are the good part of the package. But, I won’t try another. Chris was already gone when they produced the 25 and my modernized Buck 110 cuts as well and feels better while working with its wider grip.

Thank you for your video and all the good advice . Please can I ask if you have any idea if the ceramic stone on the worksharp trihone or tri stone benchsharpener would fit on the guided sharpener I realise it just a tiny bit shorter ie 2ml shorter ? If not I'll just buy a separate ceramic stone I just get the impression ceramic us a nice progression just before stropping . Cheers from uk Dave

I like the Zaan the most. Because it's very raw and overall a very good knife. The studs are placed further back, so they are not in the way with slicing stuff. Never thought that I would like it that much. And I'm in love with the blade shape of the Zaan. The tip, together with that swedge, is very good for stabbing. Crk is definitely my favorite knife brand.
