No grip issues with the BHQ.SBR.5 version, (stonewashed S45VN, satin hardware, natural G-10), I just got. The G-10 scale on the show side has a bit of peel-ply texture, to help keep it securely in your hand. GREAT little knife, with a cutting edge nearly identical to a Para3; while taking up much less space in the pocket.
Looks great. Thanks for the extra effort to evening out the tip bevel. There were some grip choices, think one had G10 inlays and another had milling for texture. But those choices were sold out.
This ones awesome! I think you mighta got the better one, I personally woulda liked to see a stonewashed or satin blade, but this is still great and looks so good the way it is.
Yes for sure, they are very reliable and are as good of an auto as your going to get, the manual knives they have are usually the best built button lock knives also since their autos are already button locks

A Protech is definitely on my short list of brands that I want. I live in CA. So, I can't carry an auto over 2". I like the Malibu a lot, but I think I'll be getting an auto that I can own but not carry. Lol. Good review guys!
Hi guys. Looks great. A good self defence knife if you are trained in that. Here in France if we carry ANYTHING, as self defence the law considers that we premeditate harming someone with it so is an illegal weapon and we are a criminal. All the best.
do you know why most auto companies, like protech microtech use alu and not ti ? i feel like TI would make it cost more and weight more but thats the case for every knife in the knife world. there must be an other reason they never use TI ? cheers man nice vid!
They use ti on the more expensive ones but aluminum is strong and light, and its not being used as the lock just the shell or handle, titanium is strong and it returns back to its shape or position better than other metals, like a lockbar on a framelock, it will consistently lock and unlock without losing its strength over time. In an auto its not as necassary

I’ve owned several top brand autos and this is the best knife I’ve ever handled or owned. Perfect edc and you get a hefty blade that’s s35vn
It really is a great edc knife, I forget the name of the larger one but id really like to try it

The larger one is the Rockeye! SBR means short bladed rockeye. Kinda cool

Protech is definitely a badass company and that new manual Malibu is so dope, their autos have so much kick, and they are very very well built
