Buddy, where have you been for my last two years. So glad I've found your channel, I love your content and pace, the woodworking is magnificent. I have a lot of catching up to do through your channel, but can't wait to get started. Your now my new 🤓Keith Johnson...LOL "Keep it coming my friend" thank you x
I recently moved my family to the countryside, abandoned my career as a chef and got a job at a custom furniture shop, but will definitely be going solo asap. Watching you is giving me the same vibes I got watching the world's greatest chefs work their magic. I wish you 10 million subs so you can focus on educating the next generation of fine furniture makers. Keep up the awesome work, much love from Serbia.
Another GREAT JOB...!!! Thank you very much for sharing...!!! I really like your channel... EXCELLENT video and sound...!!! Greetings from Uruguay...!!! PS: Excuse my Google-English...!!!
Beautiful result - the wood and paint combo works great in that application, and I appreciated the 'visual weight' explanation since it provides a rationale for what I've always done "just because." I agree with the comment below about an A-frame or something, employee or not... I hate hefting big assemblies too, but more worrisome to me is always the risk of dropping it and damaging the piece. ... nasty little Hobbitses...
Another great video and project! Your attention to detail is admirable. Also liked the skit! Have you tried another brand besides blum for euro style cabinet hinges by chance?
Thank you! The skit was... interesting. Yes, most Euro hinges from Amazon do just as well. Blum just offers every kind of overlay and position you could think of.
Starting with a good primer/ product is important. I use envirothane 170 white primer. Spray with a graco airless with a 308 fflp tip. 2 coats. Then sand with 320 until everything is flawlessly flat and smooth. Then one coat of envirothane 200 white topcoat with the same spray setup. This will flatten out so well you will tear up with joy!
So true! It was time to take this business to the next level! I did film quite a bit of the move and setup. I haven't has a chance to make a video on it though. A shop tour is a great idea, maybe I'll do one soon. Thanks for watching!
I noticed you said you prefer to use maple instead of poplar because poplar tends to dent easier. Do you buy hard or softy maple? Just curious if you find soft maple hard enough for your furniture projects or if you fell hard maple is the way to go.
That's a wise question. The soft maple that I can source is usually figured, curly or quilted, making it harder to work with, and not any cheaper. I would say soft maple is a step better than poplar though
@@FortressFineWoodworks LOL! That would be another approach. I used to work on my own in a barn about 25 miles to the nearest thing you'd call a town, so that's where my head was. An employee makes so much more sense on so many levels. I can't wait to see what you've got coming next. I have a deep-seated love of hickory and almost no one uses it on YT.
Funny, I was planning to ask him if he is related because he looks, sounds and has similar gestures to a point where it would almost surprise me if they weren’t brothers.
I thought you were talking about the pocket hole screws with the dominoes together. But yeah, I see what you mean. I guess its the perspective of the camera. Thanks for watching!
You are truly an artist and I love your content. I would like to make a small suggestion. Do your research and you might want to stop using drywall screws for your woodwork. Switch to wood screws. There is a bog difference
Well, I am on to more videos. I just retired after spending twenty-one years in Army SOF. Do you need a shop monkey? Let me know when you're hiring! Cheers.

Aside from the amazing furniture you create, your music choices are so good!
That's great that you also like the music! This channel will be a perfect fit for you then
The hickory is definitely my favorite part! I must be a hobbit 😂 beautiful build!!

Love your work, look forward to the next one.
I'm glad you're liking it. Thanks!
You do beautiful work.
Thank you so much!
Another killer build video. Keep up the awesome work! Man I'm a sucker for soft close drawers. SOFT CLOSE EVERYTHING!
Soft close laundry basket... soft close shower head.... soft close breakfast burrito...
Just found your channel, loving the content so far! Can’t wait to see what’s coming next.
I'm glad you are loving it! I appreciate you spending your time watching my content!
Really great build. Just found your channel! Like the sketch up models 😎
Also, amazing shop dude!
Haha thank you! Stick around because I plan on making better videos each month.
I really like your videos and how they are done and the info they contain. Thanks
You're welcome. Thank you for watching and commenting! I appreciate it!

I agree with all of that. I have a fear of hurting the project more so than me. Thanks for watching!
I like the music you use. Reminds me of the movie The Firm.
Oh fancy! Thank you!

Awesome. What is your airless setup?
I use a graco x7 pump, with a 308 fflp tip for my water based envirolak coatings.
What is your spray set up? The white looks so crisp! I’m having a hard time spraying a nice white finish.

I noticed the round-overs were made with climb cuts. Would you explain why?
Good eye! Hickory gets some nasty tear out if I go the normal direction. The climb cut completely eliminates that.
Did you win the lottery? Rob a bank? You were using a lunchbox planer a few months ago in a little garage. Where's the new shop build and tour?
So true! It was time to take this business to the next level! I did film quite a bit of the move and setup. I haven't has a chance to make a video on it though. A shop tour is a great idea, maybe I'll do one soon. Thanks for watching!

Sodt maple has almost twice the Janka hardness rating, 540 vs 950 and hard maple is almost 3x at 1450
Your narration style somehow reminds me of @KnowingBetter. Have you looked into getting an A-frame or something similar for moving stuff around?
I'll take that as a compliment. Thank you. I'm looking into getting an employee instead of an A frame.

What kind of black magic sorcery is going on at 4:05? Super long square drive bit suddenly becomes normal size.

I have always wondered how your clients pick their wood species? 90% of my clients just want walnut....
I suggest different woods. I rarely get clients that want walnut. Maybe it's location
What were the original drawer slides so I can be sure to avoid them in future projects!
They were the budget drawer slides in the description.

Thank you! I have since started using other screws, although, drywall screws don't rust in Colorado so they are plenty strong and long lasting.
You should get a chain lift.
I totally agree. I have a few things I need once I can afford them. Thanks for supporting the channel!
Uauu 😊
Thanks!

Why mill hickory when you can have other people dull their blades instead :P
That's a good idea. It's a hard one!
too much face time, just do a voice over man - im trying to watch your work - not your face
