@FortressFineWoodworks i build guitars, so the whole rosewood thing is more that its "boring" for me is all. That's quite a good compliment! A mini cathedral. That's all I could ask for! I drilled a hole in a thick block on the drillpress, then used that as a guide to start the holes. The first drill bit was a long one that could go all the way through.

Absolutely gorgeous table. Just to touch on your Lee Valley extension, it's much more designed to recreate the slide design of early 1900's split pedestal tables like mine. Essentially, the pedestal is a hollow wooden tube with a base, 4 casters, and all split vertically. When opened, each half of the tube, base and casters carry the load of each table end, and the remaining load which tends to be higher than the end pieces, is carried by the middle of the slide beams where they're doubled up and much stronger. Either way, it's almost a moot point since I've never seen anyone open their table that much.
That's very true. I've seen these exact slides on a different table with twice as many bearings. So they're being produced better somewhere, I just don't know where

Great question. Softer woods stain easier. So you have to sand well. 80 150 and 220 grit. I use harder maple and such, so I just scrape the titebond 2 off with a drywall knife, then sand through my grits.

Glad you enjoy it! Thanks!
Speaking of music...would you be so kind as to share, at least, the composer? As far as the tressle and final shots...you are an inspiration, sir! I am now building my first table - albiet much smaller, but your videos and ideas are helping me with the design. Thanks again, Cory!
That's really why I'm here, to teach, be inspired, and inspire others. The composer of most of the piano songs is Cody High. You can find him on Epidemic sound and probably other royalty free music websites.
@@FortressFineWoodworks you are both teaching and inspiring me. I am glad I have found this channel.
